      I have one 2. Back when it had 408hp and 510hp with brakes mods and suspension ofc and ate multiple gt4's on the nurburgring. It's not even a contest. Not saying all the drivers drove their gt4's to their ability's but some of em definitely were. Just more torque and less weight also, even with mods still way less money than a gt4 so who da fuck wants to spend that money for a cars thats worse than the base model. Fuck sound 2, 2l turbo sounds good 2 just different. Mine sounds even better than this one if I do say so myself.

    Having just bought a 981 2.7 Cayman i cant even imagine how much of a rocket ship this thing must be. I couldn't get on with the noise of the 718, but this car is very impressive.

      Whats youe opinion on the 2.7l? Is it quite sluggish? Im considering the 2.7l vs the 2.5T as that can easily achieve the high numbers but its just the sound that is a turn off for me.. the flat 6 is just a porsche icon

    • @lambo4ever
      @lambo4ever Год назад +2

      @@rdrezi1717I love the 2.7. It’s an engine that needs to be wound out to get the most from it. There’s not much going on below 3500rpm but from then on it’s a party all the way to the limiter. If you’re used to the shove of a turbo car you will find the 2.7 slow. But if you want a car that you really need to drive to get the best out of it the 981 2.7 is the winner. Oh and the sound it makes is heaven!

    I’d like to see this go up against a GT4, I expect it to be faster but would be interesting to see how much. For an alternative to a GT4/GT3, I’d probably use an A110S as a basis and if I could get around 350hp out of it I think it would do serious damage given how light it starts off. Less mass also means it’s easier for high quality dampers to control and should still work well on British roads.

    • @swansmeister
      @swansmeister 4 месяца назад

      I drive on the nurb multiple times a year and even with 410hp and 510nm I eat a gt4, also (with the mods I have) it's the better car in the corners also, I passed more than one gt4 and even gt4 rs'es and yes definitely some of them were good drivers and pushing their car. A110s can't be tuned to 350hp because there are no parts available for it, also I have driven one and it's a childs toy compared to the cayman, it's not even close.

      @imwayne4159 basically the 718 Cayman S has a 2.5 4cyl engine, where the base is only a 2.0 4cyl. the ECU map basically changes a few things to the engine giving it more power. My 2.5 GTS with similar suspension mods and R compound tires but stock engine is also faster than most GT4s. With a tune and more aero it would be hunting down 4RSs easy at a fraction of the cost. I’d say the Base Cayman/boxster plus mods is the better car overall if you want the perfect street car that can do track duty. @Kai Vaksdal absolutely , I didn't comment on what is your enjoyment. I like modified cars too. The comment was addressed to Sid due to his comments, that why the message had Sid I'm it. Not meant as offensive, just disagreed with some of the review. It's about someone done a video on one of these caymans with a golf engine.

    Putting a bunch of power into a base Cayman does NOT make it a GT4 killer. It will not beat one on the track. The GT4 will be far superior in chassis dynamics and all.
