      They should both be imprisoned! They purposely manipulated the judicial system to re-age a child, then they completely abandoned her in an apartment and state by herself! There should only be prison sentences for them. At least 12 years for every year of childhood that they abandoned her for!

      Right?! And even if she were 22 she's still their daughter that needs assistance with everyday life. These people are monsters and only got away with it because legally she was an adult so they couldn't convict. That is a legal loophole I'd love to see closed but idk how! There should be a way to legally correct her age and then retry them but I have no faith in our legal system.

      @@ThePaperbutterfly also I think it's illegal to treat special needs people that way. They were still responsible for her. They should have been able to get them on that. You can't take someone who depends on you like that no matter their age and just dump them like that.

    I would love to be taxed more to support children in difficult situations. Another thing we can all do is interact with our neighbors, and be aware of the kids in our communities. Our society is becoming more and more isolating, parents with kids need community

    One thing I found both natural yet telling/sad is how Natalia's voice and cadence is so similar to Cynthia Mans', especially when we consider their limited time together in the grand scheme of things. She's sought belonging her whole life and we can hear it.

    The empathy thing... Not only was she only 8, but when you are so traumatised and struggling so hard to get your basic needs kind of met, I can imagine there's not a lot of headspace to worry about other people. Even thou now as an adult she seems so kind and understanding. Too kind I think

    I agree. I dont understand why we dont have basic social programs. People talk abput family values and traditional families but where is the incentives for that? If you believe in that where are the faith based social programs? Parenting classes? Day cares? Social groups for relationships or marriages? Young people and parents need help. How about if you pro life have subsidies for people choosing that. We have an entire generations of lost lonely people. Absent parents. Failed marriages. Toxic relationships. Help people learn.
    Why arent there programs in achools to teach real life skills? Cooking, cleaning, how to put a desk together 😂 basic economics?? Othet counteies have these things in schools. We dont. Its almost on purpose

    8:24 I’m 35. I wasn’t taught ‘life skills’ like cooking or cleaning when I was a child due to neglect. I still struggle to take care of myself. It’s criminal to abandon and neglect a child like they’ve done to Natalia. Again, a child.

    Trigger warning! Reminded me. One of our family friends. Indian woman & White husband. Wife met with an accident that burnt her alive. Onlookers rescued her under 1 year old infant before SUV burst into flames. Week after wife's death, cheating conservative White husband started dating several women all over US. He insisted on Infant traveling with him everywhere. But would want relatives or friends in each state to babysit his infant for 2 weeks straight in each state with no contact from him during each 2 week dating sprint. Infant now calls everybody mommy and daddy. But sits like a statue, reluctant to engage in any activity while staring down at any adult in the most unlikely way possible for an infant that is by now nearing 2 years age. Heartbreaking and hard to watch that baby have no sense of a primary attachment figure.

  • @lNoWayAroundItl
    @lNoWayAroundItl Месяц назад +5

    1:32 It is not like someone would normally accuse a child of pretending NOT to be an adult. And if I was an adoptive parent to anyone that wasn't an infant, from another country with missing paperwork, and was considered disabled; I would hope to be understanding that I would access based on cognitive ability and work from there. If she was younger or older it wouldn't fcking matter. I chose to be the guardian. And if she had the obvious trauma of abuse by displaying over sexual tendencies, I would be understanding that this child has been exposed and totally doesn't understand a healthy relationship. Because it is NOT normal for a child. And it is not healthy for them to continue that behavior. I am already despising the parents. They chose to adopt and in turn abused an already damaged child.

    I wish Dr Honda would watch Our Flag Means Death, a bunch of queer pirates on a boat, in the first ep the main character repeat to the others the motto he created for when they "may come back looking totally fine but in the inside be mentally devasted by what they witnessed (...) remember the rhyme? We talk it through as a...crew!" and it's a gem of pointing out destructive behaviours, trauma, and how by communicating and creating community/awarness the destructive cycle can be broken

    I love that show so much and I think it can be a sweet treat in terms of acknowledging pain and creating healthy relationships highly recommended ❤❤❤
