    Any chance you can do an updated video for studio 2019 since we no longer have showcase? or is it still pants?

    Brilliant! I couldn't agree more with the points you made: animations, renders, the lot. I laughed as much as I learned: comedy gold.Thanks for the video.

    Nice one Neil!! good to watch something in hands on terms!! 2017 is a tad different again, but got the basic drift, and a good chuckle, looking at Showcase now

    You are amazing. Made my day!!! I'm stuck wit this program :( Are there any cool free rendering programs you know of?

    I agree, I have 2014 and its almost identical. The worst thing about using built in rendering program in Inventor is that it does not preview correctly what the rendering will look. Materials, f stop, etc. This 2016 shows it has not improved much since 2014 and clumsy, not user friendly.

    Hi, as always great videos! - In Inventor 2016 we lost the ability to render with outlines, they added the visual style "technical illustration" which looks similar but not as good, but even at this lesser attractive visual appearance, I would use it, but it useless as it does not render the border lines like 2015 did, has this been fixed in 2017 - its proving to be a huge problem for me as hundreds of files got converted before finding this issue and now won't open in 2015 :(

    Hi man, excellent videos you have, really nice work, keep up good work. I have a question for you, which will be this: Is there a solution to the problem of transfering assemblies which have standard parts (Parts from library, such as bearings, bolts, nuts...) from earlier versions of inventor to the new ones without a problems such as that Inventor could not find those parts in his library and simillar things. For example, i have an assembly that has bolted connections, bearings and belts from library, and this assembly is made in Inventor 2016, but i need to transfer it to the newest version of Inventor without problems, i mean i can delete those parts and then put them again in Inventor 2017, but is there any shortcut that i can use. Thanks in advance man. Wish you all the best, and keep up good work.

    I've now got Cinema 4D. OBJ files are the only files that seem to export from Inventor for use in C4D. Is there a better file type for C4D or would you just recommend Showcase as you keep saying in quite a few of your videos?

    I have a great idea! I like your tutorial. Very effective. Russian users don't know English, so they don't watch your great video. If you'll do the same tutorial with comment in Russian, it'll be great! I'm certificate Inventor 2013 Professional. I worked in Autodesk reseller Omntech in Israel and I know that it's very important good Tutorial.

    Thank you for the videos! Just a question. Since technology is going the way of the point cloud, Can you do a video of modeling within point clouds in inventor? Thanks! We have been modeling within point clouds for quite a while now but there has to be some easier ways/tricks to get it done faster.

    I feel like I seen a lot of those similar files in the beginning. Were you watching 3D Parametric Solid Model Drawing tutorial videos?

    • @Neil3D
      @Neil3D  8 лет назад +1

      +Ruben Serrano I don't mean to be rude to them as I don't know them, but I couldn't watch sit through one of their silent videos... I don't know how something can be called a tutorial if there's no audio! But anyway the files used in this video are the Autodesk sample files which you can download from knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/downloads/caas/downloads/content/inventor-sample-files.html they're free for anyone to use, you get a suspension assembly in there too which is good for practicing on.

    • @rubenserrano1580
      @rubenserrano1580 8 лет назад

      Ah ok, gotcha. Was just wondering the similarities. Hey I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on wiring and harness. I know its a pain but I rather learn it from a champ like you.

    • @Neil3D
      @Neil3D  8 лет назад

      +Ruben Serrano Naww you sweet talker! Yea that's on the to-do list, I haven't used that module in about 10 years though so I need to do some serious refreshing on it and whatever is new, but it's on the list!

    Hey Great video !, im wondering if you know how to change the ground plane so it looks as if the component is resting on a surface?

    • @Neil3D
      @Neil3D  9 лет назад

      destroyer939 Soooo you want a solid ground plane? One that you can see? If so, you can't... the ground plane is invisible and exists purely for the casting of shadows. The only way to show something as a surface is to model a ground object, a big extruded square for example. Or if you're using Inventor 2016 you can use the IBL lighting environments which have photo backgrounds with a pictoral floor i.e. the old warehouse!

    Inventor is not a render strong program, its for engineering prototypes. If you want rendering, use photoshop. Or maya, cinema 4d. 3ds max
