Although personally, out of females I prefer Jade, and out of males I prefer (actualy I can't decide between Erik and Hendrik), Serena seems like the best marriage candidate. She's a nice balance-- she's not super strong like Jade, but she's very useful magic and healing wise, and she's caring like Gemma, but to me in a bit more wholesome way?
Yo Honestly I’m surprised I’m not seeing anything about Hendrick and Sylvando being gay together. There pep power is literally called “who’s the daddy”
It took me awhile to choice which beat girl I wanted and after playing it on the switch and huge fan of Jade, I have to say this one fits more perfect.... They have chemistry 🧪
Yeah, and being the reincarnations of two heroes that were in love makes it even better I used to like jade but going through act 2 and this scene made me love serena.
This Scene feels even better after you play briscoletti mansion and select Serena as your bride. She strongly hints that she had feelings for the luminary but never confesses them due to not feeling worthy of having such husband. That why she is willing to improve her cooking because she wants to "not be a bother" if you choose to marry her. Pretty sweet stuff Shame people don't like Serena x Luminary *Such a Pity*
When you combine this with the start of ACT3, when she says goodbye to Luminary and asks him to take her with him again, This ending really makes sense. Frankly, maybe because I play with JP voice, I didn't feel a romantic relationship between Erik and Serena (because she acted like a mother to the team and Erik's bromance with MC is really strong for me lol). On the other hand, in ACT2, when she talks to MC, it's really adorable, and when she says farewell to MC, it sounds like she's really sad about this and doesn't want him to go. Honestly, I bought this game because of Jade. But the ACT2 really changed my mind.
Out of the sisters i would choose i would pick Serena because i would've actually choose Veronica if the devs of this game would've just made a scene where she got her age back somehow even at the end of the game to make the marriage towards her fit more better, don't no why they never thought about doing that.
But think about the shut in lolicons... how else can you scam them into buying the game again for the Switch when they live in their rooms and won't come out??? This way, the shut in lolicons can buy the game twice...
@@ctts9946 I was legitimately annoyed when after the Keeper returned Veronica to her original age (she and her sister turned into that spirit tree), she didn't stay that way afterwards. Especially since I was expecting it due to the opening intro of the game where you see both sisters in their original forms. The dumb thing is that post-game, you get to change Serena's haircut to the way it was pre-time travel, but you don't get an item to restore Veronica? WTF? So dumb.
If you play the tickington mission called briscoletri mansion, you can see both Veronica and Serena have feelings for you. While Jade only think you are her little brother, so I decide to pick Serena as my wife even tho Jade is my fav girl
Fiorina I feel bad for Veronica honestly. And do you remember that scene where they said she stayed at the luminaries side all day until he eventually woke? Touching tbh. I do want to know what happens if you reject Serena’s offer to eat the stew🤔
@@ctts9946 of course I remember 😊 it is one of the scene in in snaerfelt, and if you want to see Serena's reaction for rejecting her stew, you can go to the girl's school L'Academie to replay the memory, and you can choose no to see her reaction, it won't affect your story line but the scene is sooo sad 😂
I'm surprised no one mentioned that she said something very plot important. [Spoiler!] She said: "Thank you so much for choosing to take me with you again...just as you promised you would. That confirms, the different times from time travelling are merged! And Serena has the memories from the other time. Well I guess some of you would argue it was already hinted a lot in the Party Talk and some scenarios, but I was really uneasy about what she said before the Luminary went back in time and nothing was mentioned in the final act regarding that. Also, if you played till the final ending, Serenica reunited with Erdwin which is also a merged timeline since the people of Erdria have no clue that Erdwin died from a betrayal and Serenica died alone.
The timelines didn't merge, she just got a vibe from the OG timeline, cause right after that line she questions why she said that, that doesnt make sense. The timelines werent merging, the party would just get snippets of the original timeline.

It's kind of a running joke in Dragon Quest that characters can carry things much bigger than is realistic. You spend a majority of the game carrying around a literal forge
This couple considered that it is the one that makes the most sense and foundation in the plot, come on I don't think it's a coincidence that their ancestors were lovers and it turns out that they both became more intimate after the time jump, Verónica herself mentioned that they recently passed time together and even a random npc asks if she is your girlfriend, it almost made me cruel that the option to marry her was not before and you were enchanted with the childhood friend you barely know, and I think they did bet xD
MrLeugim150 not only that but in the previous timeline after you found out. Veronica died, things started to get a little more personal between the two. Some of her dialogue started to come off a bit romantic, like she was developing feelings for you. Honestly she would have made a perfect endgame romance but instead we got “she who should not be named”.
but i think its cute serena x erik!!! erik kinda helped her emocionally don't u think? the protagonist is perfect for genma cause he is doing what his mother did, marrying to a nobody xD
NekoTsune I would agree if their had been any actual set up for the childhood friend. And honestly Erik seemed more closer to Veronica than he did with Serena, the way they constantly teased each other.
@@tsuneTheSlime Yes, Gema also has a foundation in terms of history, but to the player's perspective you do not empathize with her much in the same way as with Medea of DQ8, I feel as if you are enchanted because it touches, if it just appears in the game, at least the case of Medea if you interact more and empathize, Gema in comparison left it aside, it almost seems that the plot paid more attention to Serena than to her, if even a certain npc in Pedrania in the end practically throws it out in the face wondering if Serena was your girlfriend, to say surely do not sadden Gema xD
@AJ Peters If you played games like Neverwinter Nights, or watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows; Ironically they have things like magical bags that hold almost an infinite amount of space that one such wizard or fantasy character can pull any item out from that bag.
i confess i went straight to Jade because reuniting the prince of Dundrasil and the princess of Helladoor seemed absolutely stuinning to me, other than Jade being the female character I liked the most, but this marriage might actually be the best. not only she remembers me of Serenica, so the love story between erdwin and her, but Serena lowkey had the cutest scene out of all the girls.. that's nice, I'm actually considering marrying her as of now
Can we appreciate how good the animation for the Tor scene is. It’s honestly the best of them all in my opinion. (*coughs in slyvando*) There are so many subtle animations that makes the whole experience so much better. Sometimes subtle is better; it radiates emotion and character. (Which is a big deal for the MC since he expresses little to no emotion during the game.) Then there’s the dialogue and music at the end. Which to me absolutely sells it. Love can blossom even through “erased” timelines (technically not that case but this is Act I Serena) and, from what the game hints at us, this marriage is also a homage and/or reincarnation to the love of old-Erdwin and Serenica. This will forever be one of my favorite game scenes and marriage at that.
I am disappointed that the main character is a blank slate. I mean, I know they did it on purpose because you;re the one supposed to be feeling the emotions, but it was always distracting when (not)Trunks would talk and emote as a kid, but later in life went mute. Hell, just because he went mute, doesn't mean they had to take away his ability to emote. Would've made a lot of moments stronger if the main character could feel
Oh my god what if when she said "I brought us a little something to eat" she just pulls this huge dead rat out of her pocket and the hero is just like, "oh no, she's crazy".
I honestly feel that either Serena or Jade is the best choice. Veronica's has more of a sister feel to it. But you could tell Serena had feelings for the Luminary multiple times in the game. Same with Jade. And as Drustan pointed out, Jade and the Luminary would have been married had Mordregon not attacked
Honestly, Serena would be my first choice if Gemma wasn’t an option. Don’t get me wrong I love jade but she’s more of the older sister type to the DQ11’s luminary in my eyes. Serena is more relaxed and relatable and her whole character development is both amazing and heartbreaking. She’s sweet and fierce. Definite wife material for sure.
@@eliasalba4857 late but yes, you go into the house and there's a picture. If you look at it it's a marriage cg depending on the character you picked. Although i'm not sure if guys have one lol.
I always wondered why they put Serena in here when she's the descendant/reincarnation of the previous Hero's lover yet the game practically begs you to marry Gemma instead.
First. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Second, that look he gave her when she was questioning what she said... Eleven straight up had a look of "If only you knew..." all over his face! XD I really don't understand why we never tell them about shattering time and all that. With all the crazy shit that went down, they'd have no reason to think we'd be lying. And don't make the excuse about time travel rules. Its outright implied the 2 timelines merged. Which is why Serena had that awkward moment. I personally believe it would've helped develop the characters in Act 3. Since they lost all of what they had of it in Act 2. Just being told how all of it went down would've surely instilled some newfound confidence in them all. Even if they didn't technically experience it.
Well Jade is still the best girl but not the best wife. I pick Serena as my wife in the game but I still think Jade is my most fav not because she is hot but she is just great and I love her
I don't own a Switch, but I've played through DQ11 multiple times on my PS4. I hate that they reserved having marriage options exclusively for the Switch(Much like they did with DQ8 on the DS). While I personally prefer Jade, for reasons 😏, Serena makes the most sense of any of the choices. In the previous timeline, they developed a very close bond after the fall of Yggdrasil and eventual defeat of Mordegon. She seems to care a great deal about you in general. And not purely because of her obligation as a Keeper and half of Serenica's reincarnation. It looks and feels organic. The Gemma marriage feels forced. They never seemed like more than friends in all their childhood flashbacks. She just seems to like the hero, and there are never any on screen interactions that indicate the feelings are mutual. Jade isn't the sister-like figure that the early game dialogue tried to suggest she would be. Her family was cool with your family and she said it'd be LIKE having a little brother. But of course things are subject to change as you grow older. It's subtle and happens occasionally, but Jade flirts with and even hints at potential feelings she may have for the hero throughout the game. I feel that relationship is the 2nd most likely because Jade is kinda tough to read and has a hard exterior, but she would most likely soften over time with the hero. She's shown flashes of such. Veronica seems like the annoying little sister and would most likely be bumpin uglies with Erik if she ever got her original form back.
@Kevin Lee I get where you're coming from. The marriage to Jade would be the best option because of the effect it would have on not only the world, but the rest of time. Being able to rebuild Dundrasil, the Luminary of Legend marrying the Warrior Princess of Heliodor(Think of the OP kid that would make), the stories of the Luminary and his companions' adventure would overshadow the previous tales of Erdwin, and with Rab training his grandson in the ways of a king then Dundrasil would be THE world power. With Jade essentially becoming Queen of Dundrasil, King Carnelian might decree that Hendrik take the throne of Heliodor once he his life is over. Erik is a maverick. But seeing as he's lived in Downtown Heliodor most his adult life, he could be offered the spot Jasper once held in Heliodor's Royal Guard for his contributions to the world. That would give him all the money and fame he would need to end his life of petty crime, and his sister would be well taken care of thanks to being in his care. Either there or in Sniflheim since they're well known there as well. I don't think becoming some kinda pirate king would be good for him. Both kingdoms would ensure the safety of all of Erdrea forever more. Not to mention the relations between kingdoms and races land, sea(Nautica), and air(Watchers) the world over would be stronger than ever before. It'd be one unified world in a sense.
@Kevin Lee Yeah I have thought about how things could play out. Again, I've played through multiple times. But yeah you're right about Sylvando, Hendrik, and how character development is rushed/forced after going back in time. I get that they wanted to introduce the true final boss, but they could've gone about it in a better way. For instance, Mordegon could've just ignored Erdwin's Lantern as he deemed it a non-threat with his newly acquired power. In addition, they could've waited until after you took down Mordegon to let Calasmos retrieve his body from the lantern and then have you go through the whole Luminary's Trial to prep for the final fight. And honestly, them accepting the loss of Veronica would've made for better story. Seems to be popular opinion amongst us all that the story progressed as it did before the time reversal. Learning the truth about Mordegon being a byproduct of Calasmos, realizing there's still no time to celebrate, and that the stakes are even higher would've really given the cast further motivation and more time to flesh out their respective characters. The Tower of Time could've honestly been left out in my opinion.
@Kevin Lee Yeah I noticed everything you just mentioned my man. And yeah that last part with Serenica bothered me at first, but then I thought about it. The art and even a bit of the story has always been handled by Akira Toriyama(Creator of Dragon Ball). The Tower of Lost Time doesn't reverse time itself. It moreso sends you back to a parallel universe like with Trunks in DBZ. Multiverse theory. So the 1st timeline we were in is still the same. Only the second timeline we created was changed. And Serenica was sent to another alternate where she could help change Erdwins fate.
nonsense... Gemma marriage never feels forced..stop posting absurd.. Luminary loves Gemma.. but problem is that our hero is voiceless and emotionless.. He never talks and never express any emotions.. it's game's problem. developers didn't care about it.. that's why it seems that way but hero loves only Gemma and it's truth
I feel like jade is hardly anything after she joins. I had high hopes for jade at first but i ended up liking serena more as the story moved on. And this scene made me forget jade
While I do think it makes more sense to marry Serena with her being Serenica’s descendant and Eleven being Erdwin’s descendant and all that, I just couldn’t do that to Gemma.
She is just the sweetest, kindest, most gentle, graceful wife ever. Both Serena and Nera are most definitely what I'd consider an ideal wife in terms of overall personality and demeanor. And is is so cute how Nera calls you things like "love", "darling", "sweetie" :)
Fun Fact: Serena’s JP voice actor is Sora Amamiya, who is also Kasumi Yoshizawa from P5R, *SPOILERS FOR P5R’S THIRD SEMESTER!* She also plays Sumire Yoshizawa. I find it interesting that Serena has similar connections to Sumire. They are both younger twin sisters to Kasumi and Veronica. Then, Sumire and Serena feels like they’re not the same as their sisters. However, Kasumi and Veronica sacrificed themselves to save their Younger Sisters. Making Sumire and Serena feel like it’s their own fault. So, they stand up to not only by her-selves, but also have support from their sisters. Also, they both have a crush towards the Protagonists/Chosen Ones, Ren Amamiya and Eleven.
I knew that too since I found out they shared the same Japanese voice actress yesterday... But HOLY SHIT you're right! Sumire and Serena really are very similar. Guess that's another reason as to why I struggled so hard with choosing between Gemma or Serena.
Me: Man, the dialogue when you say no is so funny in this game. Me, after saying no to Serena's stew 3 times: I'm a worse man than Hitler. My sin shall never be forgiven. Veronica will definitely kill me, and that's fine, as I no longer deserves to live.
When I play games like this I go for the Canon names for my characters. Just feels right, so in the case of this game I named my hero Eleven. I'm split between two characters Gemma (because it's canon) and Sylvando (because best character).
Here’s my ships. Eleven and Serena. Erik and Jade. Hendrik and Sylvando. Veronica with someone who knows she’s not a child. Rab and Ogler’s Digest. in mint condition.
@@sonicthehedge even though in the character book. Erik is not much into relationships, and Jade wants to find someone like her father. But, for me it’s mostly because they relied on their abilities. Plus in the third act when they visit Octagonia, Erik talks about Jade that he was going on easy on her. After the fight, it made him feel he needs to be a better gentleman.
Here's mine: Eleven and Gemma or Serena, Erik and Veronica, Hendrik and Jade, Sylvando and his merry band of smiling soldiers, and also yes Ran and Ogler's Digest (in mint condition).
Ça c'est ce que j'appelle une belle fin😌. Au moins ici il ya un soupçon de romance, c'est pas comme dans the legend of Zelda: breath of the wild ,où il ne se passe strictement "rien" entre Link et Zelda
All is well with the world. This is the canon route for me. And in regards to the other timeline, I’m fairly certain that they would have ended up together there too if the hero didn’t mess with time. God I’m sad thinking about the Serena/Serenica we abandoned in the other timeline, but hey at least this Serena gets her happily ever after.
This one is too adorable. Serena isn't my first choice, but it's definitely the animators first, just look how much animation there is compared to the others.
Gemma is only canon... all othr choices are disgusting and shame... developers made these dumb options with other girls only because some community forced them.. but it never been canon..
So, how does the Party Talk change when you marry Serena? More importantly, how does Veronica react to you marrying her little sister. I expect protective. Like “Treat my sister right or I’m Kafrizzling you into next year!” kind of attitude.
If gemma wasn’t the canonical partner for the luminary, Id imagine it would be Serena. Her and the hero would be basically finishing what their ancestors had wanted for each other. Knowing the tragic backstory of Erdwin being betrayed by his best friend and seeing the devastation on Serenica’s face was heartbreaking. This would honestly make them happy too.

Poor Gemma, she's stuck in the village her entire life and she don't even get her man
I love Jade but this scene with Serena seems to make Luminary so happy imo
I just married Serena today in my game. She's too precious!!! I wish there was a wedding cutscene as well...
That explains your pic of Serena lol on your RUclips channel
It's technically not a marriage. It's just them becoming your roommate. You only marry Gemma not any of the other characters.

They have chemistry 🧪
Yeah, and being the reincarnations of two heroes that were in love makes it even better
I used to like jade but going through act 2 and this scene made me love serena.
Pretty sweet stuff
Shame people don't like Serena x Luminary
*Such a Pity*
It was the best choice I felt. Jade is like our big sister, Gemma feels like our twin sister and Veronica feels like our picky little sister :P
Well knowing Japan and this being a Japanese game I think they wanted a loli as a marriage option
Oh they thought about it, they just didn't want to alienate the loli demographic
LunaticRed EyeS88 I would’ve picked her but that is just weird

Yeah Serena makes the perfect wife for the luminary.
Being the protector of the luminary and reincarnations of lovers makes it even sweetier.
Damn... she made stew? And promises it'll be better each time around... So umm yeah I'm sold.
I'm surprised no one mentioned that she said something very plot important.
[Spoiler!]
She said: "Thank you so much for choosing to take me with you again...just as you promised you would.

My favorite options are Serena and Gemma they're just so adorable.
11I00OO1I0O1Il and the moment I saw the option I was already pressing the button.
6:04 Eleven: She....knows it!?
@@tsuneTheSlime Yes, Gema also has a foundation in terms of history, but to the player's perspective you do not empathize with her much in the same way as with Medea of DQ8, I feel as if you are enchanted because it touches, if it just appears in the game, at least the case of Medea if you interact more and empathize, Gema in comparison left it aside, it almost seems that the plot paid more attention to Serena than to her, if even a certain npc in Pedrania in the end practically throws it out in the face wondering if Serena was your girlfriend, to say surely do not sadden Gema xD
well, i wanted to marry veronica but i don't want to marry a child xD, and not my almost half sister, so or its hero x serena or genma i guess
Luminary "Ahh, wooahh, uuhh". Yup, true to life Marriage.
Where did she pull that pot out from
Same place she keeps her spear when not using it. They travel with a bag that can hold a forge carrying a pot should not be that hard of a stretch.
Where do you think we keep the Fun Size Forge?
@AJ Peters If you played games like Neverwinter Nights, or watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows; Ironically they have things like magical bags that hold almost an infinite amount of space that one such wizard or fantasy character can pull any item out from that bag.
AJ Peters
From the in inventory of course!
From a capsule Bulma gave her. 😂😂😂
I'm on team jade, but this was fun to watch.
Instead of sparring they shouldve done Puff puff together on the top
Its a not in the game
i confess i went straight to Jade because reuniting the prince of Dundrasil and the princess of Helladoor seemed absolutely stuinning to me, other than Jade being the female character I liked the most, but this marriage might actually be the best.
not only she remembers me of Serenica, so the love story between erdwin and her, but Serena lowkey had the cutest scene out of all the girls..
that's nice, I'm actually considering marrying her as of now
Can we appreciate how good the animation for the Tor scene is. It’s honestly the best of them all in my opinion. (*coughs in slyvando*)
There are so many subtle animations that makes the whole experience so much better. Sometimes subtle is better; it radiates emotion and character. (Which is a big deal for the MC since he expresses little to no emotion during the game.)
Then there’s the dialogue and music at the end.
They finally got their happily ever after, even though it took two lifetimes.
BEST GIRL!!!!!!
Wow, their chemistry is off the charts.
When you marry Gemma you get a wedding picture, do you get wedding pictures with the other girls?

The luminary really digged in to serena's "stew"
I always wondered why they put Serena in here when she's the descendant/reincarnation of the previous Hero's lover yet the game practically begs you to marry Gemma instead.
First. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
Second, that look he gave her when she was questioning what she said... Eleven straight up had a look of "If only you knew..." all over his face! XD
I really don't understand why we never tell them about shattering time and all that.
*People saying that Jade is best girl
Me: (laughs)
Cultured
Well Jade is still the best girl but not the best wife. I pick Serena as my wife in the game but I still think Jade is my most fav not because she is hot but she is just great and I love her
Fiorina Harjono I can Respect that!
Jade felt more like an older sister
Let's be honest, best waifu is Erik. By far.
Fun Fact: Serena’s JP voice actor is Sora Amamiya, who is also Kasumi Yoshizawa from P5R, *SPOILERS FOR P5R’S THIRD SEMESTER!*
She also plays Sumire Yoshizawa.
