  • This is part (02) of the "Natron Beginner to Professional Compositor" tutorial series, in which I'll cover the topic Natron and how to use it. If you aren't familiar with it, Natron is an open source, free and powerful node based digital compositor for a VFX pipeline. You use it and its tools for all sorts of things related to the post production workflow, such as matte extraction, chroma- and green screen keying, lens and optical effects, multilayer EXR layer breakdowns, set extensions and so many more things. Visually it's very similar to the industry favorite Nuke.
Today we'll explore the interface of Natron. What each panel does and how to navigate around. We'll have a look at the toolbar, the viewer, node graph and the properties panel. After that we'll also have a look on how you create and work with nodes and some important things to keep in mind.
The next parts in this video series will be out shortly, currently editing more, so please stay tuned. 🌟

This application is very similar to nuke . Nice tutorial

Thank you! Yes, it does share many similarities. That is what's so great about it, you can learn Natron and still understand Nuke. However, it does lack a lot of the more advanced features that Nuke has, so see Natron more as a "lite" version. You can do lots of things, but not as much as in Nuke.
