So I found an issue which I don't know if it is an issue or a feature. Let's say I set turn off Auto everywhere and then set the ISO to super low in a dark room. I press on the screen and the whole screen with lighten up BUT the ISO value does not change. I will record this and ISO will show what I had set it to even though it is lighter. So what value is the app changing? It seems like ISO but doesn't seem to report it. Any ideas?
Great video. The app is not very intuitive so this helps a lot. One question, is there an option to shoot photos, or only video? I couldn't find anything.
Thanks, happy to hear that! Unfortunately not. Blackmagic Design is mostly a film and broadcast company and that's why the app focuses on only video. Sorry! 🙏
You're wrong about ISO. Yes it is sensitivity to the light but higher ISO doesn't mean higher noise. Properly exposed, maybe even slightly overexposed image with high ISO is way better looking and cleaner when turned down in post than underexposed image with low ISO.
Well yes, if you color correct it in post. That's the ETTR workflow. However a non-graded shot straight out of the sensor will always be noisier with higher values (least noise being the base ISO for that specific sensor, which could be a higher value than other sensors). My guess is that ~90% of users of the BMCA will never grade the footage. 🙏
Black magic makes good products. This app is very good but it's dependent to your phones hardware. Apple phones and this app is way to go. As for me.....I use real video monitors and real cameras with real lenses.
I agree! I shoot normally with a Sony CineAlta F55 and Sony A7S3, but use this app to shoot B-Roll or behind the scenes footage when doing professional work. 🙂🙏
Those don't depend on the app they depend on the phone... For example the iphone 15 pro has the ability to shoot in log, raw prores etc but since some other phones can't do that it just doesn't appear on the app.
@@jhaby8313 not true, those are all already available on Android via MotionCam Pro. It's gor RAW video, Prores, Bitrate controls, true log and many gamas and gamuts, as well as external storage recording - and so much more. Works on much older phones too if they have enough horsepower too
i thought this App...was to extend...the actual camera ie blackmagic 4k or 6k....like a field monitor type...am i wrong...is there way to connect or it just serves as a standalone camera app...
VERY useful and efficient demonstration of this app - some of it I guessed correctly but a lot of the features I did not understand until you explained them, thank you!
Any luck using the presets? I can save them, select them but the camera settings do not reflect. Also, locking controls, if u flip back into the menu, they no longer lock! Happens on s23 and pixel 7 pro. Any ideas?
If you have any questions about the camera app, please let me know below! Happy shooting! 🎥🤓

The version of the application does not work with my phone, my Huawei Y9s phone how can I download a modified version
@ali_qs_1 Support for more phones and models are coming! 😅

No bitrate control, no raw, no ProRes, this is app is a joke. Maybe later.
Haha yeah it's lacking some features, but I guess those are coming shortly. 🤓
No log means not an alternative to filmic
@@tiedtkeio Is it also lacking ability to record to an external drive?

Hi. no timelapse for Android ? ( S24Ultra)
Hi. How i can turn on flashlight during the using blackmagic cam ?
How to switch from front to back camera?
You can switch up to the left where you change lens, there you'll find front and back cameras! 🙏

There is another app for that! This is just a standalone camera app. 🙂

That's fantastic to hear Peter! Thanks for watching my video! 🙂
I installed this app on my Pixel 7pro. I am amazed at the amount of control of iso, shutter speed, frame rate, etc all on a mobile phone.
It's fantastic! So happy to finally see a Blackmagic Camera app!
Algo que probablemente le falta es grabar el Audio como Wav y poder Seleccionar el Audio Source como Unprocessed.
Nice! Great overview, will download now!
Thanks! Sounds great!!
Sooooo what's the native ISO on your galaxy? Lol

S24ultra. I can lock WB and SS and have no issues when I return from menus. Is your screen orientation locked?
How is it that you can film longer than 1 second? I'm on pixel 7 and I can't fill longer than 1 second
1 second? Is your storage full perhaps?
@@tiedtkeio no I have the same amount, just like you in this video
@@LTULOfficial That's really strange!
