I love that more and more people are making their clothes again. my grandma said in the olden days if you were going to a 'dance' you would sew up your skirt for it earlier that day like no problem
Yeah they might have had more time to do it tho. Im thinking of where the hell Id find time to do these things with all the other things I do. Just cooking, cleaning, socializing and going to a job/collage takes up the entirety of my day.

As a self taught beginner, I love that you leave in when you make mistaken because it makes me much more confident when I make mistakes!! love watching your videos and would love if you made a video all about sewing with knit/stretchy fabric with a sewing machine.. have been having some trouble figuring it out and would love your tips and tricks!!
I love how you don’t hide the moments you mess up and power through them. Every time I mess up I shout “THIS IS NOT CHIC” and I feel like throwing my sewing machine through the wall. I’ll feel like such a drama Queen and usually I’ll start laughing and just power through. Love your little sign, I definitely need one
I'm gonna save this video to motivate myself to work on my sewing projects. If you can make 10 things in 4 days, I can make at least a couple over the next four months of summer break.
Jenna! I love you! You make all the mistakes I make! Sewing legs together, Mismatched surface patterns, cutting where I don’t want to cut-all of the things. I’ve done them all. Thanks for showing the whole thing, not just the perfect stuff.
4:30 I bet that pattern is from late 60s or early 70s! They still had the drop waist hemline in fashion from all the 20s revival stuff - if so, that's so cool to see someone make it in modern day! you're incredible and i wanna do this for myself so much! (or learn how lol)
Grandma vs not-grandma is all in the styling. Re centre seam in a vintage skirt pattern - in the past fabrics weren't as wide as they currently are, so centre seams were popular. My Mum and Grandma have a stack of a-line skirt patterns with centre seams.
Loved this video. Take it from this grandma, the "grandma fabric" shirt would not be something that I would wear. I would consider that fabric only for the young! HAHA.
I've only been sewing about a year. But I don't know how many times I've wondered, both while watching videos and sewing, why hems have to be done after sides are sewn. So happy to see you do them before!! Makes so much sense to me!!
Your reactions to some of the sewing steps were so relatable! I’ve been trying to make a linen romper this week and it’s turning into a whole re-tailer, and I sewed the top to the bottom from the wrong side - ugh! Oh well, it’s all learning :)

@@sharonberhane8 it went great!! I learned so much more about the technical side of sewing and it made me passionate about it again!! The only downside to the project was that for one of the garments I didn’t wash the fabric first and they shrunk in the dryer ://
The skort inspo is on point, I have all these super cute skirts I don't wear because my retail job involves a lot of climbing up ladders and crouching on the floor - not exactly skirt-friendly. But I can make them SKORTS! Yes.
You are incredible, seriously I wish I had the patience for sewing, even took a class when I was 14, but never could sew straight. My Mom made lots of our clothes growing up so I appreciate the talent it takes. All those clothes amazing
Seam down the front is usually because there’s a certain shape to be achieved. For an A-line skirt for instance, there needs to be multiple pieces cut in an A Shape to give the whole skirt the proper shape. If you only cut the front and back with the sides at an A shape, the skirt wouldn’t look good at all. I’m assuming they wanted that skirt cut a bit rounded to give it that poofier look. If you cut on the fold, it’s just like a straight cut. ☺️ I just discovered your videos. Love them! 🤍 Keep it up. 😘
Watching you make mistakes but keep going has really encouraged me. I’ve been making my clothes now and not getting as discouraged when I mess up. Thank you soo much ❤️

Love this video! I think the seam down the front to control for the grain, so there wouldn't be as much warp at the sides - I think. I just sewed a Vogue pattern with that same thing and realized the hard way why they did that.
Was cool to see you n a major sewing high. It's fun to go on a major sewing binge like this. The last time I did this was 9 years ago and it last 9 months. Love the video! Everything looked really cute and I especially loved the wide leg pants. A lot of vintage skirts have a seam down the front because years ago, the fabric was narrower and they were trying to save on fabric so they would do a seam down the front of a skirt or even a dress. You can cut it on the fold so there is no seam, just adjust the measurement to remove the seam allowance. Great job though! And I love your personality!

Well, the vintage skirt pattern probably has a seam in the front because fabrics were made on a narrower width when the original pattern was made. Can't have the same swing at the hem if the fabric is too narrow. The pleats look great!

Loved this video!! Makes me want to break out the sewing machine. You are so entertaining and fun! Fabulous job on the clothes- loved all the pieces!
I love the quilted jacket. Great job!
Jenna you are so talented. I enjoyed this video so much and love every outfit that you made.
these look SO GOOD! ugh i really want to learn to sew but uni kills all my free time to learn new things 😭
I feel that, I started sewing by cutting out all of my pieces and then hand sewing them together during online class lmao
@@jasminev7595 i started to crochet during online classes 😂
ngl your patience amazes me bc hand sewing clothes sounds excruciating
@@clarakf I was literally unable to focus on anything else! My drive to sew was so strong that I absolutely had to find a way to do it anyways. I was also super excited about my project so that helped a lot!!! everyone thought I was crazy for doing it by hand haha (it was a pretty simple dress too so it wasn't the worst thing to do by hand)
Felt that. I’m starting GCSEs in the next few years and some of the classes I’m gonna take want me to start my GCSEs earlier like music and art. I need to improve my maths but I want to see my own closet as i have like no clothes left cuz I had to empty most of it as 1. Most of them don’t fit and 2. I’m moving so we need to get rid of as much as possible to make the load lighter.
I remember my grade 7 teacher telling us it’s more important to be tidy than trendy. 60 years later I still follow that rule. Sweatshirts can be tidy.
For the grandma shirt, you could pair it with a bold jacket or blazer to make it feel younger. Or even a mini skirt or flare pants.
I love the wordrobe so much
I love these types of videos! Gives me future project inspirations!
My fav time of the day, is at nighttime were i get to crochet while waching ur videoes UR SO TALENTED- love from Denmark✨
Love, Love them all. No its not Grandma Print. You rock!!! My fav the jacket. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
all these look so good its making me think i could make my own clothes. the grandma print on the turtleneck is cute, i think a lettuce hem would work well for it!
I’m new to sewing and like all the things you made. Thanks so much for sharing the patters. I’d like to try 1 or 2 of them, the easy ones😊
I always say I will try learn to sew my own clothes. I will watch your videos and pray it rubs off! Your energy is great! Top really does not look granny on you. Love the way you did the sleeves Xx
I love the flowered turtle neck.
Well, the vintage skirt pattern probably has a seam in the front because fabrics were made on a narrower width when the original pattern was made. Can't have the same swing at the hem if the fabric is too narrow. The pleats look great!
These turned out really well, my favourite is the vintage plaid skirt!
I adore these videos. I've been binging them. I haven't felt like crafting/sewing lately, but seeing you get frustrated is relatable. The plaid skirt is giving kilt. 😊
This video is so inspiring! I'd almost go get my own machine and start making clothes.. but it involves so much skill! I'm still too scared to start
Awesome video and beautiful clothing. Really love the quilt jacket.
I love the quilt jacket the best.
Absolutely gorgeous Jenna. Sooo much talent. You brighten my day. Have a great week.🐰🐰🐰
Bro, I wish I could knock up 2 t-shirts that look that good in 30 mins 😳
I absolutely LOVE the floral grandma top. It suits you so well!
Your floral turtleneck looks like it matches a floral skirt I've had for years and worn in numerous videos. I like it.
Love the floral turtle neck!!!
