This kind of commentary by Anthony is why I respect him and Blue to Gold. Unfortunately, I see so many internal affairs reviews and police union commentary reported on RUclips condoning such abuse of authority that I despair at the law enforcement culture that allows for and condones such behavior leaving society all too often protected by nothing but the civil rights actions flowing from such misconduct. I'd much prefer to see law enforcement management adjust their approach giving more weight to public interests in freedom from assaults on their safety, privacy and dignity, and not condoning every police action on the broadest and most contrived notions of police safety and indifference to public safety from officer abuse.

Thank you for this video! I call it the “Hero Clause.” A lot of people mistakenly down play the intrusion as a “good faith” effort.

Last night after dark a cop accompanied with backup in a separate car kndocked on my door for a welfate check. I knew immediately that the cop was confused, at the wrong address and asking for a person not involved in any way with the welfare check.
Even though it took a few minutes of my questions for the cops through a locked house door I helped the cops understand they should be at the house next door.
The cop who was at my door commented to the backup cop that the homeowner wouldn't even open his door.
What i didn't hear either cop say was that they came to the wrong house nor did they say antthing about incovenieniencing me for the sake of someone else's welfare. I suspect they suspected me of disrespecting them by keeping my door closed.
Even though thre were no shots fired cop ego was easy to see.

Never open the door for the police. Talk through the door or a window. There is no problem that won't be made worse by the presence of the police.

Viewing this channel is a great use of off duty time. I see rural cops do absolutely foolish things out of habit caught on bodycam. Pride preceeds the man before the fall.

I posted on "Civil Rights Lawyer" channel that you and he ought to have a discussion and make a vid about it.. You and he are 90% in agreement, it would be interesting to hear where you're not.

Our sheriff's dept had five Marines on their force, and four of them still acted as though they were patrolling Afghanistan.

More great training. A practical example with different facts is Thermopolis PD in April last year SGT Mascorro forced entry without CREW on some contempt of cop nonsense, ended up getting shot (he survived), and shooting and killing the home owner. Anthony, you could do a whole video on chalking doors, remaining on property without CREW after being asked to leave by the owner, and other contempt of cop tactics and it would be well received.
This channel is aging like wine. Keep growing. Keep putting out great training.

Man...... F these police wellness checks. I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU NEIGHBOR ACROSS THE STREET. WHY DO YOU KEEP SENDING THE POLICE TO MY DOOR BECAUSE OF THAT? LEAVE ME ALONE.

A friend of mine Called the Police for a Welfare check, her 18 year old Son was Having Mental Breakdown acting overly emotional. Like in most instances when law enforcement arrives they quickly escalate the situation and like an irrational adolescent the only thing the kid could think to do is flee... One of the brave officers intentionally put himself in front of the vehicle the kid was trying to flee in with his gun drawn. 20 plus rounds later the mother had arrived an got to see her child slaughtered at the hands of Heroes.

That's why a lot of agencies will not respond to a mental or suicidal person unless there is a 3rd party threat. There is no law being broken. If medical wants to go then they go alone. It prevents situations like this.
