After several years of making all the mistakes in the book, I ended up settling with the following trade plan: 1) One pair only 2) 3 hours a day only (NY opening + 3 hours) 3) ONE trade per day only - 100% rule based. 4) Once done (incl TP/SL) I SHUT DOWN my computer until the next day 5) risk 2% with 2R/BE at 1R management 6) I only look at my P+L ONCE - at the last trading day of the month. I average 45% win rate and make 70% on average every 100 trades. (about 15% a month). No psychology involved except for pulling the trigger = stress free trading..... Passed 3 $100k FTMO challenges in a row without a sweat so 15% is now an avg $45,000/month... PS: I DO journal/analyze my trades at virtually the same high level as Jared!! (actually I spend 10 times more on that then the trading itself) That gives me the confidence to pull the trigger always, and let things play out.
hell ya. im almost there. been steadily dialing everything in. I did a $100k Ftmo, got to 8% up in the first three days, went on tilt and blew it. need to get to the point you're at.
@@drewtakesprofit8897 it takes time, but (for me at least) simplifying things to the extreme was the only way that worked. When I was still watching 10 markets, using 4 setups etc, I BLEW 4 FTMO accounts in a row because of cognitive overload. You got this! Keep at it and it will come you way no doubt. As Jared always says: it´s all about doing the work while taking the necessary time.
@@doggies.will.be.doggies I narrowed it down over the years from like 10+ pairs and us30, to now strictly gj. I only trade from my computer no phone. no night trading only in the morning. This is why some of the best people I've met in life are traders. We are incredibly self aware, disciplined and humble because you have to be in order to succeed in this game. Unless you're a robot but I've not met one of those yet.
Excellent lecture that doesn't get nearly enough attention, and has plagued me recently, and likely many other newer traders especially in the environment we're in lately. Thanks for the great work Jared.
This is maybe the best video I've ever seen on this channel, and it's exactly what I needed right now. As a new trader, I've been struggling lately, and before watching this video I'd had 6 unsuccessful trades in a row. After watching the video, I scanned the market on Monday, made two trades, was able to stay calm and composed after walking away, and when I went back to check on them 2 hours later, both had reached their target. Thank you for the confidence boost, Jared!
Jared recommend a few books in one of his videos about 2 or 3 years ago, Trading In The Zone by Mark Douglas was one of them. Between learning from LiveTraders and that book I’m profitable after a couple years of trying. Started with $5 risk…. No major losses. Listen to trading in the zone if you are struggling with psychology. Listen to it like 20 times, or 50. no joke, let it rewire your brain. You’ll be able to shrug off a loss like it’s nothing if you 100% believe in what that book says.
Here I am watching this lecture again.... I've been watching Jared since late 2019.... It only took a few months to learn technical analysis... still working on my emotions 2 years later.... I trade micro futures..... had my first 5 figure week last week, and it scared the crap out of me. This stuff doesn't happen over night folks.
This man changed the game for me. It is amazing to me how this is still the only legit channel you can learn how to actually trade. Bought pts and finished it but love coming back to the roots of good ole RUclips to show my support. thank you so much jared
This content is gold. It is a painful matter but the number one thing if you want to be a successful trader. So basically the discipline is your edge and it separates successful from unsuccessful.
For me this lesson is the BEST!!. This lesson is speaking to me directly. I studied and know lots of trading terminology, but the psychology is hard to control. I want to be "Right".
Jared One of the best and in a time I needed it the most I’ve been really struggling with emotional discipline and not being patient for the pattern Anyways today was a perfect example of my emotion bias getting in the way of trading The Ukraine war is going to drive market down so it’s going to open with a pop and go lower that’s what’s going to happen But I forgot the candles don’t care Trade the market don’t trade the news what are the candles doing what is the market doing
Fantastic video, Amazing valuable statements which shows you fully understand trading and it is clear you come from a long journey to get at this level.
Solid stuff..I'm working on letting my winners run. I trade options and used to scalp with 5 contracts..so a little 30-40 cent move was money in the bank for me all day...but now..I'm only trading one contract at a time(took a step back to develop my craft) and even though the scalp strategy still works..It kills me to see that one or 2 of those trades that I jump out of for a quick profit go 200% or more ..So since I can't scale out with only one contract..I'm just going to set a percent amount for all profit taking...If I'm wrong in a trade..I typically only lose about 3-5% with my stops.. so I need to make sure that my take profit is at least 50% or higher..I'll start with 50% profit take and will increase over time..but waiting for a clear target to collect will allow me to gradually ease off the trigger finger. 🙃 This vid is on par with where I am mentally at today... Literally this morning..this first trade I took went from... .90 -> 4.38🤯 But..I was in long gone and already in my 3rd trade before I even looked back So yeah..I've got some work to do..Cheers

haha, ive sold SP from 4800 to my target of 4100 and only made 60 bucks... took all the best trades, still, Fear of loss too strong... And, I LOVE TE BE RIGHT!
I think it's also important to understand Fundamentals and Technical aspects of trading. As long as you understand these things; build responsible habits, stick to 1-2 trades on a daily basis, and have enough experience (2+ years) to make this activity work for you. As long you accept losses are part of this game, but its only how you manage these losses and study them in detail...you will discover your winning trades!
