    I boat past Egmont all the time and never have made the time to explore it, but will stop out there sometime now. Thanks for sharing!

    Egmont lighthouse was my first duty station out of basic training. I was stationed there from June 74- February 75 and now do volunteer work with Egmont Key Alliance.

    If Ft Dade was built in 1898, how could it have been used in the Civil War (1861-1865). Or which Civil War? Do you mean the Spanish American War maybe?

      Hi there, yes I did miss-speak in the video! The fort was not yet built during the Civil War but the island itself was used by the union navy during the Civil War.
