Delivered the Cutwater 24 from Jax to the Caloosahatchee River, now awaiting a rack space at Burnt Store. Added 200W of solar since we can't plug in and that now gives me a microwave as well. Wonderful addition in a small galley with a lazy cook!

@@floridaboatguy Chris, my suggestion: Hold on the inverter until you have a house bank that supports it. After purchase I unplugged the BYC (big yellow cord), heated up a cup of coffee on the tiny mic....and 100 amps of DC showed up on the battery monitor! As for the Cutwater: quality glass & wiring, the hull (250 Yamaha) is quick but only above 4500 rpm, it's a swiss army knife of clever touches, and a bigger (meaning heavier) boat than I expected. I'll share some more when I know some more. Good luck on the weather window.
also, i'm trying to imagine the scenario where 2 battery switches are useful with a simple dual battery system with an ACR. Really only need 1 single switch.
Each battery is a completely separate system except when the ACR is active. So, you need a disconnect on each battery. An example of a useful scenario is this week I’m taking the boat in for a bottom job. The boatyard wants power to the motor so they can raise and lower the motor to work on it as needed, so I can leave the engine battery on and turn off the house bank and not worry about any of the accessories in the boat running while it is in the yard and, also do not have to worry about anyone getting into the boat to access the battery switch.
never ever seen a nipple be able to be cleanly removed from the elbow in the pickup. ALWAYS plan on just replacing your pickup tube, elbow, and nipple as a whole unit. Nipples are either brass or aluminum and the elbow is going to be aluminum, either way it's corroding and then bonding together for eternity.
Hey Mike, lesson learned for sure. I’ve actually removed quite a few of them from my customers and been able to get them off there with a little PB blaster and not have to replace the pick up tube every time. But definitely good advice to just plan on replacing the entire thing next time around. Corrosion always an issue! Thank you for watching
Hi, no you do not need it. Typically the only time I really recommend it is if you have a tank higher on the deck such as mounted on the center console where you have a higher risk of siphoning fuel. I see a lot of mechanics remove the valve from built in tanks since they tend to cause issues over time
Nope! It's not required, but I recommend having a shutoff valve or something in-line in case you ever get a fuel leak somewhere. I've read some horror stories online and it's better to be safe than sorry.

do i need an anti siphon valve if i have an outboard
Hi, no you do not need it. Typically the only time I really recommend it is if you have a tank higher on the deck such as mounted on the center console where you have a higher risk of siphoning fuel.
