Howdy, thank you for this helpful and informative video. I recently got a 1985 Honda FourTrax 250, one of the original iconic ones, and it is still running strong. Just replaced the old battery, so the electric start works very well. One question: right by the battery there is a hanging black plastic piece which I believe is part of the housing for the CDI module --- which seems to be missing. Obviously the wiring was somehow bypassed since the engine starts up and runs fine. So, just wondering if I should be thinking of replacing this missing CDI module in order to have the circuit installed correctly??? or is the CDI module superfluous??? Also, one other question please: I mostly use my FourTrax to pull a small leveling blade attached to the rear using a sleeve-type hitch --- this is how I grade and maintain our small horse arena. However since this blade is so heavy I need to find a way to brace it somehow. My idea is to use a nylon rachet-type tie-down to help lift up the blade so that it does not drag too much. We are only talking about a couple of hundred pounds, and the tie-down is rated at 1300 lbs. so no problem there. I want to be able to hitch it to rear black metal frame cage right behind the seat, which seems to be super strong and held down with multiple bolts. Obviously I do not want to damage anything on the FourTrax ---- so do you think the rear frame cage will be strong enough then?? I am already using a hitch riser that is giving me an extra couple of inches, but still need just a few more so that I can adjust my blade, and have complete ground clearance when needed. Please advise as you are able. I would appreciate it, and will continue to follow your RUclips videos. Thank you kindly... from Tucson, Arizona.
Oh yea. We see a lot of the foremans. Check our channel out of e a bunch of other videos on this same machine. Revs but doesn’t move? Let me know what you come up with? My guess is centrifugal clutch. Thanks for watching and the comment. Let me know if you need anything. www.ebay.com/str/midnebraskamotorsports
@@MidNebraskaMotorsports I've replaced the centrifugal clutch and clutch plates, Also replaced the piston and jug, also replaced the carburetor and have checked the valve spacing as well as made sure timing was correct. On straight stretch I can easily go 37-40mph but getting to a hill or incline the machine seems to bog down and lose power top speed will decrease to about 20-25mph. I've also replaced the spark plug with a high performance one and replaced the ignition cable. In the trail it Handel's like a boss but just slows going up hills on the open road.
@@MidNebraskaMotorsports also great channel. Helped me do all the replacing of parts I did. started out not knowing much about it with the guidance of the videos. Managed to get it done and bring a quad back to life that was sitting dead
Got a 1985 electric start was working i hooked up a new battery and now i have no power to bike, ie no lights or dash lights, there was a relay black box and i hooked it up to the positive side of baterry i think i blew that or a fuse, what should i be checking? Thanks

1985 not 1984, 1984 was the trx200 one year only, honda first atv.
