This album comes after a big hiatus for these guys. They all went through different stages after the 'fame' got to them. Not in the typical sense, but in the supply and demand sense. Everyone was pushing them to be more commercial, to give out stuff that people 'wanted' as if they didn't get popular by already doing that naturally. Beacon was the hardest album for them -- they began to hate each other and go through some crazy emotions, addictions and otherwise. They took a hiatus and got back together now, and realized that the marketing, the expectations, all of that were contributing to a mutual loss of vision. This album is them coming back to center and calling out the corrupt marketing mindset of the music world, and the advertising world in general. There should be no control over art, and this song is calling that out completely. :) I am happy to see them backkk.

I missed TDCC and Crystal Castles years back at lollapolloza to go make sure my friend was alrught. He had broken up with his gf (it was really messy, and he didnt really want to) and was beside himself. So I made the only choice. Glad everything turned out alright but I will admit I've always wanted to see these guys again. They are looking great!

I see the irony of a large company like EA to use this in their game.
I think it's about (false) advertising rather than about "companies devouring our lives". I mean, without your phone made by "companies devouring our lives" you wouldn't even be able to watch this video on a video platform by a "company devouring our lives".

I came here because I saw them at Lollapalooza. They blew up my mind, I wasn't prepared for that. I only had heard two songs of them (Undercover Martyn, and What You Know), so, when they played this song, and many others from the Gameshow album, I knew that they will become one of my favourite bands. Thank you Two Door Cinema Club, you gave me one of the best shows of my life.

+notblue21 I was obsessed with Are You Ready once it first came out and I still am 😂 Same for Mistake, you have to check out their EP! It's amazing. You should check out Jung Joonyoung as well, the lead singer. His music's unbelievable!
+notblue21 That's exactly what happened with me! Their EP has two songs that are almost better than Mistake, you'll love them! And yes, his solo stuff's amazing and I listen to them all literally everyday, his ballads like Sympathy (please check it out!) really show just how talented he is with his voice. And yessss TDCC are actually my number 1 favorite band, no matter what genre I switch to I'll always listen to them 💕 K-indie's great, you should check out The Koxx and The Solutions! They're also one of my favorites. :)

I've loved tdcc since tourist history and when they finally came back after their hiatus I lost it, I missed them sooo much!! My favorite album's Beacon though, it's seriously so beautiful. I haven't listened to the rest of their new songs yet, so that's my opinion for now.
Yesss The Koxx are amazing! The Solutions are probably my tops, I absolutely love their style, their recent comeback is all I've been listening to for the past 3 weeks! I just saw these guys live tonight ! Such an underrated band and even better in person!!
I first heard it on the radio while checking out the first pages of the Forever Free comic (The Forever War sequel). I wasn't really paying attention to the lyrics, but the song and the comic got strongly connected in my head because of the timing. When i searched it having read the comic, and saw the video to it, it just occured to me how good of a match it was. In both of them humanity is losing what it is, be it to consumerism or a hive-like conciousness.
Now I'm gonna be stuck with this associacion forever.
I absolutely adore this song and the message behind it- I've been playing it on repeat for days. I'm so excited for the new album.

This video is so dope. The weirdness comes from the retro advertising which contains parts of lyrics. I like it.
For anyone who doesn’t understand the message of the video and song, it’s just about how advertising is deceiving and makes you believe things about the product that aren’t true. They lie and take your money. It also covers how ads want to make you feel good about yourself like “you’re wonderful” and so on, so that you’d buy more of the product. A powerful message and executed really well.
