Charizard. I actually named my fire red morph bearded dragon based off of him hahah. I always liked the bird trio though. Zapdos, moltres and articuno. so in the og gameboy game i switched through them. Pretty sure i had hitmochan, mewtwo always in my fleet.. annd... cant really remember them all. I think you could carry 6 at a time?.. hmmm. I'm just grabbing my old cards recently to find the value in them been a long time since I've thought about pokemon tbh 😅😅 I was obsessed though back then. Its no surprise why it was so successful! I was definitely more into the game than the cards but have about 300 of them and 95% are good as new.
*"Base Set* technically has 4 English runs. 1st Edition Shadowless, Shadowless, Unlimited, and 4th print UK Unlimited. Likewise, *Fossil* has three. 1st Edition, Unlimited, and 3rd print AUS Unlimited (it's much much easier to find Base 4ths, than Fossil 3rds). *Base Set 2* only comes in the one print. The Unlimited version. Jungle, Team Rocket, Gym Heroes, Gym Challenge, Neo Genesis, Neo Discovery, Neo Revelation, and Neo Destiny all come in 1st Editions and Unlimiteds. *Every set* after that come in Unlimited and Reverse." - morphinomina
Already knew all info said in this video, however I can see this being very useful for people new to the hobby and will save alot of that good dolla dolla!
Thank you! I think for us long time collectors its easy to forget that not everyone knows this kind of stuff. Hopefully it helps any newbies to the hobby!
I just got a first edition Gengar fossil Pokemon card but it says Unlimited when I bought it from TCG online is it the same thing? and it has the first edition stamp on it and fossil stamp
GREAT VIDEO MY QUESTION IS: I KNOW THE UNLIMITED BASE SET IS NUMBERED #/102. WHAT ABOUT THE FOSSIL SET #/62 AND THE JUNGLE SET NUMBERED #/64. PLEASE GIVE ME ANY INFO ON THE FOSSIL & JUNGLE SETS. ARE THEY GOOD INVESTMENTS ? PLEASE REPLY !!!
I can’t find info on this anywhere, but are non holo rare cards worth anything? I have 3 dark charizards non holo wondering if they are worth anything or if it is just holo rares? Plz help
Never had any shadowless or first edition cards as a kid , I think they must have been super rare outside of the US. Did any other countries get 1st edition packs, Europe or Canada? Or where they only in the US?
Oh the days when kids and genuine collectors were the ones buying everything..... 😂 Shreddy bringing knowledge to those of us who already thought we knew! Thanks bud
Pretty useful video. Was a long video and I skipped around a bit. I knew most of this info, but the bit of info i cant seem to find is how to tell the difference between unlimited and shadowless trainers and energy cards. They dont have the shadow in either set, so I cant figure out how to tell the difference.
Hey man wondering if you can clear something up for me - I'm looking through the collection i had away in the shed since i was a kid, and I've found 4 first editions so far.. but they aren't shadowless - whats up with that? I know for sure they aren't fake because I only got the little pokemon packs when i was a kid and from no where else
If they're first edition base set and not shadowless they will be non english cards or fake. If they are first edition cards and not shadowless, and are real cards, they will be from another early set, likely jungle or fossil.
Thanks to this video, I went through my old childhood collection and found 2 shadowless holographic cards. Sadly one of them is slightly damaged. And its a Mewtwo...
I’m new to collecting Pokémon cards and from all the research I’ve done, the answer is yes. All 1st edition cards are shadowless. But that being said, not all shadowless are 1st edition. This also only goes for base set cards from what I understand. Still digging and trying to get all the information I can, but it seems like all the sets that follow Base Set (ex. Jungle & Fossil) also have “1st Edition” cards, but they aren’t “shadowless”. So it seems like this is just strictly a Base Set thing.

I love blastoise

what if you have a shadowed card that says 1st edition? I have a slowpoke with these attributes
What about 1st edition dark cards. Do they have value. My son has full set including super rare raichu 83/82.

I personally never saw any in the UK as a kid

Thank you, so much. I realized i got duped hard. I've learned from my mistake though after this knowledge. Off to collecting! Haha.
So I have some cards that say first edition, but they have shadows, so is it safe to say they're fake??
Thats normal if not base set

@@shreddybrek Theyre most likely jungle or fossil

Childhood memories!
Why did your 1st edition charizard take so long to grade?! Damn. COVID maybe.
Thanks for the info.
I would really appreciate it if you dropped a comment on my latest video. Much love
Glad it helped
Will check it out man
@@shreddybrek Thanks bro
Are all 1st edition cards also shadowless? Why doesn’t it say on the slab 1st edition shadowless since there is no shadow?

How much if they're not graded?
Ebay solds will give you a good indication - but prices vary massively depending on condition
Isn’t there 4 cause of the uk variant 👀
Keep watching then tell me the correct answer !
