So sorry this happened! Back in 1990 (when I was 17 years old), I purchased an Upper Deck 1989 baseball card complete set box at a card show. It was fully sealed etc. Last year I thought...well, the only really valuable card is the Ken Griffey rookie card (card #1)...so I might as well open the sealed box and get the Griffey card graded. Guess what wasn't there!!!

I recently sold a sealed booster box case of Evolutions that I bought at product release back in the day from DA Card World. Sold it to someone in Myrtle Beach, SC. They opened the sealed booster case and put fake booster boxes inside and shipped it back to me keeping the original booster boxes and then filed for a return to get their money back on eBay. It took me nearly two months and I had to sign an affidavit from eBay to get my money back. They let the buyer keep the refund and the $4500 worth of original booster boxes. Unfortunately some people would rather scam than work hard at anything productive in life. I'm sorry this happened to you.

As others have pointed out, look for the registered trademark symbol at the top right of the N in the Pokéballs. No fake booster box will ever have this unless they want legal trouble. Re-sealed is still a possibility, albeit a different issue.

You can also look at the packs from the side of the box. Most of the time the pack arts/colors are wrong or have the v shaped serrations/crimps at the top and bottom. Also you kept saying “she and her” when talking about the scammer. 100% it was the “fiancé” that you were messaging. I’d see if the Starbucks or any of the other businesses have a camera that might’ve caught the “fiancé” or at least the license plate.

I'm surprised you didn't talk about the plastic. Was a dead give away just visually and my sense went off first with that! Now, the plastic isn't always the BEST way to prove a fake, but these look like that cheap plastic that isn't what retailers usually use. This plastic here is more durable and doesn't rip easily. Also, the plastic has those tiny pinholes you'll see when purchasing from retailers as well. You had some great comparisons with what you showed as well. Good job! Sorry about the loss too.. we are so greedy as a society these days. Anyway we can make a buck off people. Really sad. Ruins the hobby as well like you said. Don't lose faith. Continue to trust those you have worked with and done business with previous to this. Stay blessed dude.

We all had an experience like that. I've got fake cards, empty envelopes, nothing at all.... Those people really mess up the hobby, but we have to keep going.. Most people are honest and even fun to share the hobby with.
Good luck on the next one and hopefully you'll get what you deserve and the scamming people too 🤞🏻
Thanks for sharing this, bad ass 👍🏻

Such a bummer, but you win some you lose some 🙌🏼
someone once told me that you need to adopt more of a “fuck it, on to the next one” attitude rather than fester in the bad mood 🤙🏽

100% agree with this. dwelling on past mistakes is a recipe to just be pissed off your whole life. I'd rather not

Geez that really sucks but thank you for sharing your experience. It's a bit of an expensive lesson, but with this knowledge, I'm sure you'll be able to avoid nasty scammers like this. I'm sure your video will help a lot of people avoid these scams in future.

Great honesty. Really respect that. It’s happened to all of us at some point if we’ve been in the hobby any length of time.

Those Jungle packs are resealed with an iron. The grading is fake as well. From what I could see the slab did not look to have a PSA in the frosted area down in the bottom right-hand corner. Sorry for your loss.

Yeah I watched a few videos on how to spot fakes and the little ‘R’ is the simplest way to tell on the outer sellophane.
Sorry you got scammed in this way 😢 I hate people who can operate like this and go about their Daily life thinking its okay

@@ThePokeOffice for the 3 boxes right? Is there anyway to get into contact with person to guilt them into a refund? 2500 is a good penny
