The same code could be used to make centipedes and Long-legs, for centipedes they'd just need to string multiple body segments together, having each one's next position be the position of the previous one in the chain.
It'd be fascinating to see this project also be offered as a standalone mod/series of mods, and perhaps be accessible via some sort of gate from a normal minecraft world. Having this be something you can experience within a single seamless minecraft world would be unbelievably cool.
Who's making HK in MC? I know there's some guy who recently made a datapack for the beginning section of HK but I don't think he's planning to make the full game.

I am a freshman collage student who is a CS major, coming into my second year of collage, I have been coding since I was in 6th grade so about 8 years. I know the languages in order learnt scratch, basic, java(for only robotics) HTML, Javascript, Python(a lot of python), C#, C++, Java(again but this time at a professional collage level) Clojure, Ada, and Ruby. I( had a summer job teaching at a coderschool. I never made a mod or datapack before (I always code from scratch[and not the program]) but I am definitely willing to learn, I don't think it would be too hard. Rainworld is my favorite indie game that I have played since the pandemic and my favorite triple A game is Minecraft wehitch I have been playing since 2011. My favorite thing to do in Minecraft is do redstone and mess around with command blocks(I know how to do com-plicated commands) and making minigames to play with my siblings. All this being said, I'd love to help with the project , and would like to know what channel I can ask in.

I learned about my passion for coding last summer and didn't know where to start, after fumbling around i decided to take ap computer science for my senior year of high school and that has given me some skills in python, i also took game design and learned a bit of CSharp with the help of chat gpt, I'm starting my freshman year of college this year and will be taking taking "C programming" this semester!i made two mods for Rainworld and I'm excited to keep growing. I feel like the flashing in the Underhang when it rains down there could be done away with and a different way of conveying the static shocky could be figured out ? I'm not epileptic but the flashing bothered my eyes a bit so I fear it could do worse to those who *are* triggered by flashing in one way or another. Other than that, this project looks really fucking cool and I can't wait to see more of it !
Well, this is absolutely awesome. What I love the most is how it translates the world in a 3D space. When I first saw in Downpour LttM pull up a map of the factory grounds, I've realized that "wait, the world isn't two dimensional !", and the visuals of this project show exactly what I would imagine Rain World if it as 3D.
Gahh this look so cool! As a fan of both rainworld and minecraft I'm really impressed with how faithful it is to the look of the original. I'm looking forward to seeing going through metropolis!

It's crazy to see how far this project has gone considering I was one of the first builders to get into the project the day Piggy started looking for help Thank you for making this video and raising awareness for this project, because it really deserves it and we really need any help we can get ^^
I really hope that some creatures like the lizards are implemented to have some procedural movement. I know that that's tecnically a different project however I don't think the flat Minecraft movement that most mobs have would do this justice
I hope they at one point put a lot of work into the AI because if they keep it as simple AI I don't think I would really enjoy the map, Its one of the main things that make rainworld rainworld, the feeling you get when you get past a lizard by leading another lizard to that lizard and having them fight as you jump over them and run off, or throw a vulture grub into a scavenger toll to get past them because you have no pearls and the rain is coming soon. or being able to trade and gain reputation. if there isn't much interaction between creatures it will feel a lot more empty and devoid of life unable to immerse the player. Not to mention orange lizards would be ruined if the closest you can get to them is zombie pigman AI but always aggressive after seen.
this is reminding me of mine in abyss which is a 1 to 1 recreation of the made in abyss world with all the creatures and layers made I suggest trying it out, its very fun

You are also stuck in a cycle of life and death in Minecraft (If you die in hardcore you become an echo). There's the void which lies under the entire world. Back when I was growing up the void was really terrifying and I think it is the same void. There are ancient civilisations who have sunk into the ground. There's a moon. Minecraft acts as Buddhist allegory as nothing really fears death, mobs will just respawn and animals just don't care as you slaughter them. Villagers are literally pacifists and this is an example of Mahayana Buddhism, where STEVE is the one who saves the villagers because he is actually the Bodisatva AKA Saint. This can be proven when he 'frees the end' from the ender dragon, the end is Naraka AKA Buddhist hell and steve saves the Endermen there. But Steve is like Saint at the beginning of their cycle and has not completely filled his saviour role so Minecraft is the story of his coming to terms and basically a spiritual journey where he has to go on a PILGRIMAGE through dimensions to get Karma 10 and only then can he help others ascend. Notch ascended and Herobrine is a karma demon who refuses to ascend btw. The Illagers are his pawns and are going to suffer a trillion years in hell or something. The pigmen don't care about this rubbish. Bedrock is literally the cycle personified, you can try to mine it for eternity but it will never break. Only when you move past your attachments to the world can you get past it. Maybe bedrock was a last ditch attempt to stop the void sea, but it will inevitably break as all things before it did and be subsumed. Skyblock is the ultimate RainWorld parallel game, it is basically Rubicon. Skygrid is literally the section at the bottom of Sky Islands. This is why Minecraft and Rain World share the same cinematic universe. Minecraft just needs to add void fog back and add void worms that will pull you down into it if you break bedrock. as a Rainworld fan, this is really thrilling to see be developed though i do hope the empty gaps in the foreground & background(aka stuff you normally wouldn't be able to see in rainworld but could in minecraft) is filled in with stuff to make the world feel more complete
i tried making a build inspired by the superstructure once as well but i was NOWHERE near this, this is absolutely insane its like as ambitious if not more than the original game
4:36 Honestly being able to reassemble a citizen drone in base rain world would be nice. Especially if you want the Moon pearl dialogue but don’t want to constantly reload expedition to get it. It could be unlocked for Hunter, Gourmand, Monk, Survivor, and Rivulet after completing Artificer’s campaign. Something like finding three parts scattered throughout garbage wastes and bringing them all to a shelter causes a unique dream sequence and gets you the drone. Pebbles won’t kill you if you have it, but he won’t read pearls because he’s annoyed by your presence and he will simply tell you to go away. Rivulet’s metropolis could be covered in the rot, too.
Started watching alot of rain world and got looped in to this anazing world and now seeing custom animations, movement pacs and more. THIS IS AMAZING!!!
This looks so, so good... It's amazing and I really hope the project will be finished because Rain World is my favourite game, and I can see how much love is put into this too. I usually don't play much Minecraft anymore but I would love to play this. I think the creatures and their AI is one of the most amazing parts of Rain World and I would love to see how they will work in action here.

YES!!! I've wanted to make a rain world project since I played the game, and this is everything I could have asked for. Very cool.
I was waiting for something like this to happen, and started to lose hope, I fucking love both games and now that they are combined I feel better than ever, amazing job so far

This is amazing, I think I've heard of this project, but I didn't realize how ambitious it was.
I heard about this before and thought they were just recreating the map. This is even crazier than I thought and they have more DONE than I thought
I remember seeing the progress posted on reddit, i din't know about the rain or the creatures, pretty wild how much they have done
I've never played Rainworld (though I know a tiny bit of the lore) but I've always been fascinated with the setting and structure(s) and stuff. It would be SO cool to get to explore it myself!!

HOW did I not know this was happening!??! Recreating the beautiful environments of rain world in MC was the draw for me, but this is SO much more ambitious!

downpour is out and there's a lot of mods. you absolutely should. (recommend the meow button for maximum enjoyment line of sight for immersive hell.)
I just started working on a Rain World inspired build in Minecraft, and suddenly I see this.
This is one of the coolest projects that I have ever seen. I love Minecraft and Rain World is my favorite game of all time, so seeing the two combined is so awesome. I will definitely be following this project very closely!
