Wow. When I was a child, 55 years ago, we had two huge window fans, but no AC. In summer, one or both fans ran constantly. One fan sounded just like this. The other fan more like the B-17 bomber that you or someone else made. I discovered that if I sat under one of the fans in the windows, it would put me into a deep meditative state. I would experience waves of tingling sensations over my body. ASMR long, long before it had a name. It was awesome! I would imagine myself on an airplane though I had never been on one. I imagined the ambience of a deep space craft even before we had made it to the moon. Certainly long before the newer Star Trek series' used this as a background thrum in their ships. My mom would eventually call me out from under the fan. I think my serenity as a 5-10 year old child, spooked her. When the fans eventually went away, so did the experience. I have chased this sensation on and off for nearly sixty years. A steel shower stall almost got there. The original air powered white noise devices almost made it. Never tried pharmaceuticals though I came of age in the '70s. Until now. Woah. Thank you.
*Paresthesia* is the tingling sensation you get. ASMR just triggers it I guess.. Cool story though, I had some really good MDMA when I was a teenager and I've been chasing that feeling the last 30 years myself but nothing compares to some good ecstasy.. Hard to find anything pure these days.. lol same but different aye.
brown noise feels so… natural. like strong winds through the trees, the constant flow of a waterfall in the forest, the rushing of a river down a mountain as it weathers away boulders in its path, all the waves in your proximity at the seaside melting together into a soothing symphony of noise.
I live with Autism and had recently acquired very noisy downstairs neighbors, then I discovered brown noise and it has made my nights so much easier. So grateful for this🏆

it’s like being a child again sitting on the backseat a bit sleepy with the rest of your family in the car driving it’s dark outside but there are street lights and it’s warm inside and you’re just so cozy sitting there feeling so safe observing the world feeling lukewarm thinking about it which you so deeply want to explore 🤗💕

I have had tinnitus for over twenty five years but I'm way past being freaked about it. That said, I listened to this video last night and went to sleep with it on until my laptop battery ran down. When I turned the laptop back on mid-afternoon today it began playing again. This is a friendly noise, and I think my tinnitus may not be quite as loud as it was yesterday. I had it on for six and a half hours last night, without earphones. My ears were damaged by standing directly in front of too many high decibel speakers at rock concerts in the 70's. I am Ron.
So an update: after listening to this brown noise for the past weeks my tinnitus has not gone away, but it seems to have receded somewhat from being front and center in my consciousness. I'm now more aware of what I hear: a louder, higher pitched hiss in my right ear, a somewhat softer, somewhat less high pitched hiss in my left ear, and simultaneously the continuous sound of my grandmother's old wind-up clock: tick tick tick, which seems to be located somewhere behind my left shoulder. For the past few days I've been hearing my name being called. I have looked around and there's no one in sight, and it only occurs once per instance, so far. The tinnitus is often louder than low conversational voices, especially in noisy locations. I'm exploring improving my sleep quality, which is why I'm listening to this brownian noise and I've also found some binaural beat music that it soft and subtle. I am most interested in steady sound, I haven't found composite music combined with either brown or binaural sounds with instrumental to be satisfying, though I am sampling what's available here on RUclips. Thank you Jason.
After I started my ADHD meds, I had to switch to this because music is too distracting now when I am on my meds. Thank you so much for making this exist.
I have ADHD and I'm currently trying to remain focused on reading "It" while my family does shit around me. So I've been using this with my headphones and its helped me get so much deeper into the book!

For the first three seconds my entire existence wanted to revolt against it, but then something shifted and now I feel like I want to live in the brown noise forever.
This group's earlier work was a little too... new wave for my taste. But when _Pink Noise_ came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a sustained, droney sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the waveforms a big boost. In '87, the artists released this: _Brown Noise_ , their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece can be heard at 15:11 ... a song so monotonous, I don't think people listen to the constituent frequencies. But they should, because the piece isn't just about the existential ennui that drives the need to drown out the sounds of the external world and the utility of artificial distraction, but a personal statement about the band members themselves.
I'm bad at overthinking always thinking negative thoughts and scenarios and can get stressed. I just discovered brown noise and I love it it cancels out the bad thoughts and relax me.

Until now. Woah. Thank you.
What a great story and journey to get here. Thanks for sharing that William, it has made creating this feel a little bit more special.
This deserves top comment

I am Ron.
Thanks for your feedback Ron. It's great to hear how you think this may be helping you. Jason

@@Fleig. mostly okay, I'm in Year 1 in a UK university and this entire year doesn't count💀so I couldn't be asked to put my maximal effort into this but I believe I did mostly fine
@@Fleig. thanks for asking by the way very cool of you
@@kjy05 Nice, keep it up. University can be a cunt sometimes, but it's worth it. Be sure to get to know your professors and participate in the academic-social life!
T. 3rd year communications student with a CS degree =p
@@Fleig. of course, thank God my professors really like and respect me and my classmates as well because I ask a lot of questions and am very active in class. My uni and program is a joke (I'm studying psychology). Also are you done with university or in your third year of your undergraduate degree? I didn't get it.
Since I discovered brown noise on TikTok, my productivity has been THROUGH THE ROOF! Today alone, I finished my college classwork for this week and started two papers! I don't know what about this keeps me... calm? I don't really know the word, but usually I get frustrated at classwork or my siblings being loud while I try to work, but I turn this on and I'm completely calm again. It's like if Zen was a noise. It heals my soul.
Sameeee
I too found this on TikTok and it is very useful
ADHD
@@amberparslow6037 I’m sure it helps with people who have ADHD but I don’t have it. I just have trouble focusing. My cousin who does have ADHD loves it too though so I’m glad it’s helping people!

@@ejnaygfantzcg space tech is in the stone age to put it in perspective and hasn't moved much in decades. Even the spaceX shit is not very impressive. Just tech we've had since the late 60 made more flashy. I think our great grand children might have the chance to go to new worlds tho
