    NOTE: Unfortunately, this 8-hour brown noise track on RUclips does contain short dips in volume every hour, because I created it by looping my original 1-hour track, not remembering that had the volume fading in and out at both ends. I've now created a new updated version without those imperfections: • Smoothed Brown Noise 8... .
    ► Subscribe to my channel and be updated with my latest tracks:
    www.youtube.com...
    This track contains pure brown noise without any additional brainwave entrainment tones/beats.
    Brown noise is a useful sound masking tool, that can block out external sounds and distractions and be used in many different ways. Compared to white and pink noise, brown noise uses mostly lower frequencies and is considered the most soothing to listen to of the three.
    Use it to:
    - Help you relax or fall asleep
    - Block out distracting noise while you're studying
    - Can help to calm and settle nervous and distressed dogs
    - Provide relief for tinnitus
    Recommend Headphones For Sleep
    Normal headphones are usually very uncomfortable and impractical to use while sleeping. I've had some SleepPhones for over 10 years now and I highly recommend you give them a try.
    SleepPhones are specifically designed for use while sleeping, with thin flat speakers that are contained inside a very comfortable headband. You can use them while lying on your side and they also have wireless versions, making them very easy and practical to use.
    You can find out more about them here: www.MindAmend....

    This video is the reason I am able to be employed at my job - I am not exaggerating or being dramatic. I would not be able to work at the job I have now without this video (or something comparable to it). I work in an office and I cannot stand the sound of constant, never-ending, loud typing all day long. I listen to this video Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm. The first thing I do when I get to work is put in my headphones and start this video. I have never gone a day without it. I found this video a few years ago and it honestly changed the outlook I had for my career. I know I might be coming off as crazy (as it would be hard for someone without this problem to understand how a sound can affect your life), but certain sounds literally paralyze my ability to think because I cannot shut them out. So I just wanted to say thank you for uploading this video. I hope you know how important it is to many of us.

      Amazing to hear how helpful you find this. Although I also couldn't help but feel for you, when I read how much you need this just to get through the day at work. You don't sound crazy. I have had similar feedback from people over the years who suffer from a similar plight, so unfortauntely, I know you are not alone. I hope this continues to help you for as long as you need it. Thank you for posting your appreciation and for sharing your feedback, that means a lot. :)

      I depend on videos like this to get through every workday. I am sensitive to sounds myself but I work in a loud office so this video has helped enormously. I used to listen to music at work for hours on end, but that just made me stop listening for pleasure at home. This is so much better! Anyway, not crazy, glad you found something that helps and much success with your career plans!

      Thank you for posting your experience Jack. I had to quite an office job a few years back because I was constantly on edge. I think I have figured out I am noise sensitive, but I am afraid to go back to a regular office without coping strategies and I hadn't thought about listening to this all the time! I have been listening to this video at night as I find it calming. Thanks. I have a new tool.

    Have you ever laid on a beach and just closed your eyes and listened to the waves? I often stay at a friend's family beachfront penthouse in Wildwood NJ during the winter months. This constant rushing of waves and the soft crashing against the shore sounds very similar to this noise. The city is dark and quiet in the winter due to lack of illumination and tourism. I would lay on the deck, gaze up at the sky where every star was visible, and listen to the consistent sound of the ocean pulsating and thrashing against itself before hitting the shore in loud bursts of dispersing tranquility. As someone who doesn't come from wealth, these moments were priceless to me. This sound really takes me there. It's beauty brings me peace.

    This is ideal for shutting off the chatter. You only know what calm means once the over-stimulation dampens down. Best part is it's useful both for sleep, relaxation as well as studying. I normally prefer Green Noise, but this smoothed version is an ideal mix. The rain sounds are also relaxing but have weird effects. Especially, while sleeping....rain creates some really weird, vivid dreams. This one shuts the mind in sleep, too. Dont know how that works. Thanks a lot for these (and no ads).

      From understanding. Each color sounds different because they are at different frequencies. Brown noise is a lower frequency and therefore lower pitched. I agree, the higher pitched ones like white noise and pink noise are more high pitched and can be more anxiety inducing than relieving

    • @StarHaze_

      It's not imaginary... With tinnitus the inner ear is damaged because of some other reason (excessive loud noise, a slap to the ear, continued working in a loud environment without protection, ...) the sound receptors in your ear die due to the trauma and as a result the brain can perceive it as if the receptor was continuously receiving sound input making you hear a non stop tone, this can range from silent tones to very loud ones making life very difficult.. And indeed there is no known remedy for it.

    Dear Jason, Thank you, thank you, thank you!! You are now my new bestest friend, if you like it or not! Just WOW for such a simple thing to actually be doing all sorts of complex bodily, soul & mind reactions is just inconceivable to my current way of thinking! The fact that slowly, now, I will be able to FINALLY get rid of the "cocktail" of medications that big pharma has convinced me to be taking to rid me of my complex depression, anxiety & chronic lower back pain combination of problems...can now be solved just by knowing how to tap into a persons inner-vibrational frequencies, as there are many minute ones that still to this day we know very little if anything of! This, though, what you have graciously provided to your fellow man(and women too!...yes "feminazies"...we haven't forgotten about you!) is actually a Very BIG deal Jason! So...thank you! This will be the start to a whole new type of body healing...the one that actually gets to the source, not just a band-aid to "try" to cover up the symptoms! Something so small and insignificant to most other Y-tubers, but such a great big eye-opening gift to other like me...See, no-one should ever think that because something is so small or simple and insignificant, that it is also never even thought twice to be put on the net for others to also benefit! Such a massive population in this world, you just do not know who out there will not now think of ending it all, or even to live a life filled with depression and riddles with anxiety- you just DO NOT know...So what does it hurt to simply upload something that even just only you think is going to be beneficial and everyone else is saying no- it's all a big waste of time, well to them I say NO...NEVER!! Seize every opportunity to try and make life easier & better in this overly complex, rat-race we call "life".......Thanks again Jason!

      What's the difference with white noise?

    • @MindAmend
      @MindAmend  8 лет назад

      White noise covers the full spectrum of sound frequencies, whereas brown noise uses mostly lower frequencies. White noise produces a much harsher sound, so it's not as pleasant to listen to. But it can be more effective for extreme cases of tinnitus, and for blocking out other invasive sounds. Brown noise has a more soothing sound, so it's more popular with meditators and widely used for relaxation.

      That's normal. The brain will often attribute repeating sound patterns to patterns previously felt through the vibrations of the cochlea. In fact, a sound influx like brownian noise will often be reported to sound like cars booming in the distance -- so don't worry too much about it, you schizophrenic piece of shit.

    • @MindAmend
      @MindAmend  6 лет назад +2

      Thanks for your feedback. The new one is more smoothed in sound which was deliberate. I decided to make it a little different because I was conscious of having two videos which would essentially sound identical, as many people haven't spotted those dropouts. I'm also mindful of the prospect of potentially getting flagged by RUclips's AI processor, by appearing to upload duplicate content. So I'll consider re-uploading this non-smoothed version, but maybe at a slightly longer length so it's not exactly the same.

    • @ohjajaja
      @ohjajaja 7 лет назад +10

      I guess when colorblind, most stuff happens at information level in your brain. If you can't see specific colours your brain will compose something that works for you. There could be 'mixing up' frequencies happening and that's mostly ending in tinnitus.
      If your ear is hurt in some way, you will probably don't hear low, high or no frequencies at all.
      There is a lot of stuff that can happen to link up weird senses. I bet some people could smell the brown sound and wouldn't be able to explain it to you.

    Note about ads in the video. I have always had mid-video ads turned off on all the videos on my channel. I have no intention of ever changing that. However, you should be aware that RUclips reserves the right to show ads in their terms of use, even when creators have them turned off. So I'm afraid I have no control over that.
    I've researched videos and comments on my own and many other channels. RUclips does appear to insert an ad break on videos that are 8+ hours. This is why you see a most-played part around 6 hours on every long-play music/audio video on RUclips. If you look at it from RUclips's perspective, they have to cover the bandwidth costs for many hours of video without showing ads. So although I don't want them there, I can understand why they may be exercising their right to insert them.
    A RUclips premium subscription is the only way to guarantee there aren't ads in any video.

    first time hearing about brown noise. what is it?

    • @MindAmend
      @MindAmend  8 лет назад +50

      It's a continuous mix of random frequencies that sounds a bit like TV static. It can be useful to help block out distracting sounds, which is why it's popular among those with tinnitus. White noise is more widely known, which has a harsher sound to it. Brown noise is a bit more soothing to listen to and some people liken it to the sound of rain, so it is also used for relaxation and meditation.

    • @MindAmend
      @MindAmend  8 лет назад +19

      For a technical breakdown of what brown noise is, go here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brownian_noise.
      For how it can be used, I explain this in the video description:
      Brown noise is a useful sound masking tool, that can block out external sounds and distractions and be used in many different ways. Compared to white and pink noise, brown noise uses mostly lower frequencies and is considered the most soothing to listen to of the three.
      Use it to:
      - Help you relax or fall asleep
      - Block out distracting noise while you're studying
      - Calm babies and help them get off to sleep
      - Can help to calm and settle nervous and distressed dogs
      - Provide relief for tinnitus

    • @MindAmend
      @MindAmend  7 лет назад +29

      There are various static-like sounds which are given colour names to describe them. White noise uses the full spectrum of frequencies and has quite a harsh sound to it. Brown noise is created using a narrower range of frequencies and is considered much more soothing to listen to, which is why it's popular with meditators and for using to relax and sleep to.
