I just tried the “pelican and seagull “ loose painting. It was fun and not too bad! I had done some of your paint a bird a day and my husband loved them. I am not a painter but have found this to be quite relaxing. Thank you.
Love this video. Birds are my favorite painting exercise. ❤
Love the playful way you create your birds.
Thank you Mabel! So glad you enjoyed them!
I have a story how I saved an owl so I have special love for them. Thank you! 😊
I do love birds. This was fantastic! Love the finished product and the process
Glad you enjoyed it!
Always triple digits in August in Dallas! Love watching the bird paintings!
Who who who (!) is the fanciest owl at the party? This one! Love him Diane!❤️
Thanks Posie, s/he's such a HOOOOT!
Here in TX we have been up over 100 degrees F for weeks on end now.. I've had enough! No rain.. Dry as a bone.. No rain in the forecast.. cracked earth.. They say it is caused by La Nina.. .a weather pattern.. And its sticking around for an unusual 3rd year in a row.. .. Love your owl! You remind me i need to sit down and stretch my imagination with a pencil, pen and paint.. Have a great weekend! Hugs! deb
Oh wow! Sorry to hear about the weather, I've heard of La Niña, hadn't realised that was what was happening. At least we have painting to do if we are more or less stuck indoors!
Happy owl ❣️
Just had a great idea! I'm going to do a bird a day for World Watercolor Month. Thank you so much for all the delightful inspiration.
Wonderful! That sounds like an excellent project!
Very cute owl! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Know I am going to like this before we start! Wanda.... Canada 🇨🇦
Ha...I knew it...so much fun! Love this bird a day....keep cool. 💕💕
So glad, isn't she sweet!!!
Another cutie
This is lovely,,,,,xxxx 🦉🌷🌸❤️
Thank you! She IS cute, isn't she!!!
So cute 😍
Good morning and morning baby owl 🦉 definitely to hot in the UK too xx
Morning! Oh yes, today though it's broken thank goodness!
@@DianeAntoneStudio yes here too, lots of much needed rain 🌧️
Love it
Beautiful!
We're used to that kind of heat here in west Texas. Good luck!! Drink lots of water.
Thanks! Will do!
Awesome.....you make me smile 😊
You are so kind, thanks so much!
I could watch you all day ❤️
I just love this
I hate this heat , I prefer winter I suffer in this weather with blood pressure and I'm too hot, I love gouache paint, I like it watered down a little bit more than it comes so it's near transparent. Your little owl is pretty , I'm addicted to doing these birds haha can't stop 😆 xx
Hi Tracey, lovely to see you hear, great to hear your voice! I absolutely am with you on the heat thing, it drives me nuts, makes us ill. So much so that we have forked out a fortune to put air-conditioning in the studio which makes it possible to be in there - it's got a tin roof so it was unbearable in the summer till this year. Thank god we did - it was about 37 deg today, over 100 F. ARGH!
@@DianeAntoneStudio lucky now it's got a bit cooler that sounds great having air conditioning it's the best way to go, I have an air purifier that the front acts like a large fan it's a floor standing one and that's lovely on in this weather I just melt otherwise.
@@TraceySusanMixedMedia we’ve got one of those in the house. Good for pollen etc which has been diabolical this year 🙄
I’m ok with lunacy, makes me feel more normal lol 😂😂😂
LOL !!!
Love this thank you
You are so welcome!
I understand what you mean about the heat. I live in north Florida which is sub tropical. It gets hot here and extremely humid. The humidity helps the plants. The problem is gonna be for your plants that can't live in a sub tropical climate. (which I'm sure you already know) Your gonna have to give them extra water and shade to get through it. You can set up a few posts of some kind and cover with an old sheet if you don't want to buy that very expensive plastic sheeting. Any fabric will do. We use a few old light weight blankets and sheets to cover. But there has to still be airflow. I'm sure this is obvious. Just trying to help. I'm glad to hear you have air conditioning.
Oh, my goodness, I think the heat is getting to you LOL! Wow, that's hot. I hope you get some rain and cooler weather. Is there any rain in sight? Today here it was 80 degrees with a beautiful breeze. Tomorrow it's going to be 59! And Sunday 60 with rain. What the heck. This is June. It's supposed to be warm.
I love your little owl. What is wrong with me? Every time you're drawing and you get to the eyes, I literally chuckle out loud. Something about the eyes. Oh, and you're only 5 years older than me ;)
Wait! I'm not older than ANYone !!! The weather has broken, sultry and cloudy and a few drops of rain today, a thunderstorm coming I think. Forecast says a week of rain, so we've taken the gazebo down again!
This one made me think of those nesting dolls from my childhood. It’s just beautiful.
Brush too big, too small 😳😆 that’s a proper looking owl..I do love owls❣️ I’m still learning…never thought you could reactivate paints! It’s a wonder that your weather is odd as in so much heat…anyway, you are so talented. I love hearing you through the process of your whimsical ideas to paper! 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️👍🏽Mia
Oh, how sweet! I kind of want to sew the little fabric one! I hope it cools down for you soon, 35degs is far too hot, ugh! We have family property in the Perigord region and a few years back there was a severe drought so bad that many buildings were affected by subsidence. 😒 Anyway, I hope it breaks for you soon! 💗💗 🌧🌧🌧
It's so cute, isn't it! I think it came from an Indian craft shop, possibly in Canterbury... That's awful about the subsidence. We have noticed rocks poking up through the (formerly muddy) earth surrounding our house where they never used to be. We shouldn't get subsidence as we are on rocky ground, but you never know. This weather is outrageous. I should complain!!!!!
Pretty owl! I honestly thought that you invented “ Paint A Bird A Day!”
I thought so too!!
Absolutely love this series. Cant wait each day for it. Super cold here in South Africa
Cold? What does that mean? Glad you're enjoying the birds!
So sweet I can't wait to have ago, I find your voice so relaxing 🙂
Oh that's so kind!
Fabulous Owl Diane, love all of the animals that you draw, paint but most of all love to hear your thoughts as you work through each project, I must have missed you say about the hashtag on instagram but you will be seeing my efforts soon on there. Thank you so much. Sandy 🌸
Thanks Sandy, your support is much appreciated! So glad you're enjoying the little projects!
This little owl is so cute! I agree, the white gel pen that I have like yours ( I have all 3) does not always work well on some of the paint…liked seeing you use gouache (spelling?)….know what you mean about the heat….here in the southwest it gets to 100 as well!
Oh boy, that’s hot - this year it’s really COLD here!
Diane, I love that you sketched and painted an owl! He's just the cutest. All of your bird cards have been so adorably cute and so easy to follow. The gold really adds a sweet touch.
Thank you for making every day better.
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed him Carolyn!
Love this
Diane, you are such a joy to watch and listen to, it’s very hot here to I’m in the USA , love all these beautiful birds , this fills my days since my husband passed
I’m perfectly happy to be in cold, wet Cape Town! I don’t envy you…do NOT enjoy heat. Love this series of birds.
Thanks so much!
🤗🤗💕💕🍄🍄💕💕🤗🤗
💜👍🏻💚👍🏻💙👍🏻
What a lovely little whimsical owl! I definitely have to try this. This would be wonderful on a greeting card. Thank you!
I love this super cute owl! Thank you for all of your wonderful paintings.
It's like magic! And every minute of it
Thanks so much Tarrie!
What paper do you use for these happy, sweet birdies. Tennessee USA is in a huge heat wave as well! Stay cool! Stay safe. And know I look for your birdies every day.
Hi Cheryl, I'm using a Viviva sketchbook for these birds, here's a link to the product: tinyurl.com/squareviviva
Having so much fun Diane! I have been painting birds but haven’t posted them yet….this weekend for sure! So grateful I found your channel and FB page! Have a wonderful weekend and keep cool
So glad Terry, welcome and very happy painting xxx
You have inspired me to create whimsical paintings. I’m having lots of fun. Thank you.
Please don't ever stop "a bird a day!"
OK!
This is just Fun ! I have been sending my sister these cute birds each day to show her granddaughter and now they are doing them ! Everybody is having a good time ! And we're not thinking about the heat - which is pretty miserable - we're in Florida !
Wow Linda, that's absolutely wonderful! So glad you are all enjoying them!!!! I'm having a blast creating them too - this might go on forever!
It's an inferno here in Texas, USA. Temps are over 103 degrees, and the roads are starting to heave up and buckle in places. I never think of France as hot so your comment is surprising. I have not been outside since last Sunday. Hope your weather changes quickly.
OMG. OMG. Texas must be a nightmare. You're right, and France has never been as hot as it has been in the last 10 years. You used to be able to bank on lovely hot summer weather in which you could sunbathe and swim and laze around, but only in July and August. And the part where we live, just off the Atlantic coast, was always relatively wet. But nowadays temperatures are reaching the 40s quite often, whereas the 30s used to be a heatwave. It's time the French started putting in aircon if they want to survive.
These birds are just too cute 🥰
Thanks Connie!
Today in Oklahoma USA 103
It is warm here in the Netherlands too. I love your birds! Thanks❤️🇳🇱
Thanks so much!
Absolutely lovely! Just like you! Love all your work ,
paintings and comments. Hope you are cooler now! Hugs and thank you from North of Tornto. Canada.
It's 31 deg8where I am. It's amazing. 🐦🐦🐦
I love all of your birds, Diane!!!💕
Thanks so much Dawn!
I do LOVE this owl!
Adorable!
Hi Diane! Love your owl! Also I am loving this hashtag and all of your amazing talent! Big hugs and blessings sweet friend!
Thank you so much Susan, really appreciate your involvement, it's such fun, hugs from me to you xxx
oh I love each one! thanks again. your work is so lovely!
You are so welcome!
Adorable little owl!! I love all of your bird paintings. I haven’t tried gouache yet but am excited to try it. This looks like a great project for gouache beginners. Thanks! Have a beautiful day!🙂
Thank you! 😊 I think so too, you'll love gouache!
I live in coastal Alabama (southeast US), we are aging a terrible heat wave also! 😩 I adore your videos and your personality ❤️
The key ring is adorable…as is your painted version! The temps here are roller coasting from 30s to below 10 from one day to the next…with blustery winds! Very unusual for a SW Ontario, Canada June.
Let's do this. So cute!
Yes! I am in MS and it is HOT here. Also staying in the AC.
We are roasting too in UK, but I'm in the garden, with my paints and I'm ready to try this latest project. Thank you for all of these, today's is stunning as always 🌞😎🥰
Thanks so much!
Love!! I will try it for my /Friday night paint time!!
Have fun!
So cute! I always like your "whimsical" birds and animal tutorials - another to add to my library! I will definitely be trying this one in gouache - my set from Amazon came yesterday and I can't wait to use ALL the colors! Thank you for your conversation this morning - listening to you and your comments on the painting and life in general always a pleasure! (Oh yes - keep cool - it is record breaking heat here in North Carolina as well!)
Gorgeous girly owl 💗 love it!!
Thanks Lily!
I love it.❤️👏🙏
Pretty! Entertaining video series and fun to paint birds. We have had extreme heat warnings here in southern Indiana. Hot and humid. Typical but does seem kind of early. Stay cool. Thanks Diane.
Thanks Teresa, have fun with this one!
Love it, Diane!!! ...I have you for companionship in my studio again as I work on a portrait commission...I'm binging as I just love hearing you tell your stories and your voice is very soothing...not to mention the beautiful art you always create!...I know I'm sounding like a broken record since I told you that many times and again...sorry...lol...Big HUGZ from your Canadian friend! XOXO
Love this!
I've done a few cute birds and this is my first owl. I watched your tutorial on Aug 27, 2022. by the way today in Waterford CA USA it is 103F. I have trouble with my Micro pens clogging up after doodling onto the water paint. How do you keep yours in working order? Like your soothing voice and tutorials! I'm trying to send you my owl photo.
Great job!
These really are fun, inspiring. It’s nice to be silly. I’ve followed you for quite a while, here & on IG, don’t usually stick with challenges. Crossing my fingers on this one, it really helps. Thanks for what you do here.👍
Thanks Kathy, I'm not good at sticking to challenges either, but I do find the commitment to RUclips very helpful (and my daughter cracking the whip...!!! :))
Aww love this owl so cute. I agree about the white gel pen I tried 2 kinds and it doesn’t show on some colors, same with silver 🤔so its been gold and black for me. 💛🖤 Oh yes, I understand about the heat. Last yr year was horrible here(Minnesota USA). We are getting into the 90’s and 100’s this weekend. 🥵🥵Awful.
So glad you're enjoying the birds Kim, they are a lot of fun aren't they!
Hi, not long ago I found your tutorials and am happily painting along. These bring me so much joy. Thank you. I heard you mention you added a little vodka to the spray bottle water? Why so?
Hi Diana, so glad you are enjoying the videos! I don’t think it was me that mentioned that, but I know some people do it if they live in a cold climate and I want to affect the way the water behaves. I don’t do that, we don’t have alcohol in the house - I’m allergic to it!
I must be going crazy ... I thought I heard you say it ... around the 2 min mark. Anyway, thanks for appeasing my curiosity about the vodka water 😊
I’ll have a listen. I’ll be back in a minute! (I often don’t remember what I say in the videos at all!)
Ha ha! That was said under my breath, not intended for human consumption! I was joking, implying that adding some vodka to the water would make it more palatable to drink. Just a joke! But I know some people do add things to their water to get special effects. Maybe vodka, being more or less pure alcohol (?) would have that effect? Some people who paint outdoors in cold climates, add glycerin to the water to stop it freezing. But you’re quite right, I did say it, although I wasn’t being serious! LOL!
It’s not terribly warm here on Vancouver Island in BC Canada! I’ve got my blanket so all is well. Just wondering if you can post where you get your brushes? I’m brand new and would love to try them. Thanks
Hi Dawn, welcome to the channel and to the watercolor journey! I get my brushes from a company in Japan where they still make them completely by hand. Here's a link to their website. Drawell Brushes:
www.drawell.co.jp/english/product.html
The ones I use are Series 11-2 Golden Nylon, and I use sizes 7, 10 and 13, with occasionally a size 3.
Mr Maeyama deals personally with orders and will answer emails and ship anywhere in the world at cost. They are the best brushes I have ever had! Hope this helps!
@@DianeAntoneStudio Perfect, thanks. I’ll check it out. Excited to start my journey! I love your videos as well as your humour. Keep them coming. Thanks again!!
