In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ruclips.net/user/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
Hi Ryan , what the best way to secure the bracket to the u plate ? On my u plate there is very little room to try get a nut in there to fasten , thanks
I have used heavy duty 12 gauge stainless self tappers with hex heads and i have also tried tapping a thread into the mounting plate as well. Both work great but always use tefgel on the screws, cheers
Hi mate, that’s a bit of wives tail in my experience. I use mine in less than 40m in the game boat. Pretty sure it compensates in shallower water. Sorry for the delay getting back to you.
Hey , you might never see this reply but for others that do , if you have a side console that leans over to starboard side like a Quinny 420 renergade, AND WHEN YOUR ON YOUR OWN IN BOAT it's because the fuel tank is located same side of helm , easy fix is to fit a Bennetts 6 INCH SPRING LOADED TRIM TAB , TAKES THE LEAN OUT BEAUTIFULLY, ..
Hi ryan i have a gt51tm(it reads good at all speeds) i live in mackay i only go in up to about max 70m of water im wondering if i would be better off with a high chirp or non chirp transducer like tm260 or tm265lh or tm275hw what are your thoughts for up here mostly chasing nannies in 40m plus
Hi Billy, so sorry this slipped through the gap, our system just brought it to our attention. your GT 51 has a wide beam for open country where you find nannys so no real need to go a 275lhw which is only a tiny bit wider from memory. The 51 is good to 300mts as well and has good enough definition for deep waters. When searching open country chirp or non chirp is irrelevant really. cheers
Bonjour tm 260 1kw Est-ce que je peux pêcher avec dans les profondeurs de 50 m Il mendie qu’il fait beaucoup de vibrations il fait fuir les poissons à la profondeur de 50 m

hello can I use the TM 260 1 kilowatts in small depths of 40 m --they told me it makes noise and it scares the fish away ??

Hi Ryan love ya vids. What's your thoughts on thru hull or transom mount? Heard pros and cons with both. Cheers
Sorry mate missed this one. The trailer boat we use transom and the big boat thru hull so the transducrers are in front of the motor.
My side console leans to one side pretty bad....could i mount mine on a slight angle to compensate?
Personal preference mate. Whatever you think will work best. Sometimes these things are just trial and error.

Hey mate
Does your motor effect your left side scan picture when driving at all?
No mate but if it does just tilt your motor up a tad.
