It would last 2 weeks if you wanted to make it early. Store them in a cake box or cover them with a something because being exposed to light will make the colours fade very quickly. Hope that helps :)
Two weeks for it to still be edible but how long just as decorative? Sorry just trying to time manage myself :) I will be sure to put it out of sunlight.

No worries! It wont go bad at all so you will still be able to eat it. But normally people don't like to eat decorations like that anyways :)

You should try adding tylose powder or just use gumpaste and let it dry before putting it on the cake :)
