Just got a sub. Great game play and awesome build and am glad someone actually is playing the game not just running through it for quick views and or quick content and actually gave the game a fair chance much appreciated all the other members here that see the game for what it is and gave it fair rating and evaluations. Yes the game has some issue no doubt but to say the game was a let down and lost cause is absurd to me. I’ve played worst games. I like the overall difference in play style and not just your average button smashing triangle square square and the combo build up is what’s happening.
This is coming from somebody who didn't play the demo and just watched minimum on trailers. Because I didn't want to be spoiled. But Yo at first when all I had was the earth spells. I was really hoping to have the fire swords to just swing away. But when I finally got them and tried it out I actually didn't like it at all. My favorite spells are all earth , lighting, and with fire just the L2 button spells, which are insanely sick.
I don't care what everyone else is saying, im really excited to play the full game
Same bro ps5 tho so I'll be playing tomorrow
Same it looks epic
I'm still waiting to see pc performance but the gameplay is super cool.
same
Traversal and combat( need to be learned amd get used to) its so good.. if you dont care about the bullshit dialogs ang forced cutscene which a ton.. and if you dont mind the souless buildings which u cant interact.. like basically cardboard...
Reviews and feedback from an actual gamer. Boomstick over everybody.
Refreshing to see someone actually just enjoying the game like I am. Good tips!
This build is insane lol
Yes. I thought this game would be garbage based on the demo and the hate hype around this game. I bought it because I want to support Black protagonist or characters in my favorite genre of games "JRPGs". Now I personally don't like Frey's personality but other than that this is actually a pretty solid game.
It feels like FF15 but a magic focused combat. Now with it being a JRPG it comes with the outdated JRPG issues...poor quest design and overrall cringey dialogue. That's normal...it sucks that since it's a black girl and not a white or asian girl people clearly are not seeing this as a JRPG and are holding it to extreme accounts. Any JRPG person knows if this was a Asian or white guy with Black or Blonde hair in replace of Frey...the hate wouldnt be anywhere near as bad. They would dismiss it as a JRPG.
@@shira2151 If it had an asian or an anime main protagonist it would easily get at least a aggregate score of 80 in metacritic and opencritic, people would be praising the acrobatic magic combat and forgiving the underbaked open world and quests
I’m glad someone mentioned this because I felt while it’s not a game that’s the best ever it’s not bad . But it does have a black female protagonist and mainly female antagonists is why everyone hates it irrationally
You mean coping like you are
Valkyrie Elysium was fun for me despite all the hate it got. People said she had very static dialogue and the story was boring which was irrelevant to me since combat is my main focus from Square, I think people just like to complain in the name of bandwagoning. So on that note, I'll definitely give this game a try, don't believe all the hate so quickly.
Really nice to see positive Forspoken content
Im around ten hours in and really having fun with the combat and parkour…my biggest gripe though is the stupid pauses after every cut scene and being stuck to the spot for 5 seconds or so.Aside from this and the initial slow pacing im glad i picked this game up and relied on my own opinion instead of jumping on the hate train. A couple of tips from me would be: change the support spells to auto equip in the settings, it equips the next support spell available that isnt on cooldown, next (and i know this isnt for everyone) but you are able to change the settings of stamina regen to very fast so you rarely run out of stamina.
Thanks for your coverage on this game ... I picked it up after your vids and I'm loving it. The story is a bit iffy but the gameplay is so good.
Moral of the story; you can't satisfy people. When God of War was released there would be people who say, "this game is too linear." And when Forspoken was released, there would be people who say, "this map's too big, the world looks empty and the combat system is jancky as hell." *takes a sigh.
System of a down references....this guy gets better with time like a fine wine! 💥💥🕹!
Since I'm playing it on PC, I had to wait for the game to launch before I could download and play the demo, mainly to see if it had any issues with bugs or crashing. Everything checked out and once I got a feel for the combat mechanics, which I enjoyed, I went ahead and purchased it.
I'm a little over 20 hours in and have just gotten the fire abilities. IMO, the dialog isn't as bad as what many reviewers are making it out to be. The negative feedback sounds a little forced and seems like just the cool thing to do. With that being said, it's probably not game of the year material by any means, but I personally don't go into a game expecting a GOTY experience. If it happens, then it happens, and even then, it's still pretty subjective.
Forspoken starts out super slow, and some of the side quests and interactions feel kinda dull, but the traversal and combat system is definitely fun. For me, this game feels like an MMORPG, even though it's a single player game. The graphics are pretty nice, especially the particle effects, but then again, I am also running it with ultra settings + ray-tracing in 4k (Intel Core i7-13700k + Radeon RX 7900XTX) which nets around 60 fps, 90-100 with FSR enabled.
My main complaint with the game is probably just gear progression, as it doesn't really feel like finding new items is an explicit upgrade, especially since you can just upgrade the stats by crafting. I can also understand the price tag of $70 being pretty steep for something that could just lead to disappointment, but I guess that's solely up to the person to decide if they want to play it immediately or wait for a price drop to where they feel more comfortable.
Love it. Can't wait to play tonight.. Thnx for the review :)
Tbh, i love this game and idc who thinks it's trash.
I am absolutely loving this game so far. Ive only beaten Sila but Ive been exploring and unlocking alot of other stuff. Combat is so much fun and optimization and story apart I dont get all the hate.
ngl, that SoaD drop cracked me up like nothing else has today. Thank you.
Awesome video, just found your channel from looking this game up! You earned a sub!
It’s nice to see people actually learn the game instead of fussing through it just to get their review out as quick as possible and then complaining. I get the game isn’t a masterpiece, but when you rush through stuff and do it half assed, of course the experience is gonna be dulled
Im here because of that combat video!! Maaaan I didn't know about the charged arc attack put a trail of fire....PRO TIP
This game is really fun if you give it a chance.
Thanks man!
Cool vid mate. I love the game. Will definitely try this out. Cheers. 👍
Reviewers have got it badly wrong. This game is a classic. 9.5/10 for me. Addictive. Love both gameplay and story.😊
Agreed!
Love Boomstick!
These tips are awesome bro!! Bought it for 35 on ps5 and it is SO WORTH it
Glad to see a big channel giving Forspoken some love. I lost faith in the mainstream reviewers. When I watch any of their reviews, that game automatically seems like trash. I'm so glad I bought Forspoken regardless.
Thanks for this Alex. I'm having a blast with this game, and feel like there must be something wrong with me 😅 due to many of the critical reviews it has received. It's by no means perfect, but it is fun, and that's what I'm looking for after a long and busy day.
You have indeed made it 🙌 😂
Giving deer grenade tips is indeed the dream job bro!
Fantastic guide
Great video bro! Really enjoying the game been excited to unlock the melee thanks for this.
I didn't watch any gameplay any reviews all I did was played the demo first on PS5 then tried the demo on steam deck
Purchased it on the deck and got a stable 30 for most of it
Overall I loved the game the gameplay was really good
Story was good and I didn't expect the major plot twist towards the end, which I enjoyed more
The only complaint I have and it's a small one is I thought the end felt a little rushed
But I enjoyed the game alot, hope they add a ton of dlc to it
I like both but I don’t like earth magic in any game I’ve ever played so thanks for this cuz I love the fire in this game
Great info. Let me know if you got a blue magic build.
Exelent guide my man, now on the other side of the spectrum can you make a build tat makes you into a walking minigun?
Never knew how versatile the Right Trigger attacks were. Interested in beating Sila and trying this stuff out now.
If anyone's having trouble killing the goliath at the Ferrum Guild near the fort, jump in the top of the fort, run all the way downstairs avoiding the mobs, open the front door from the inside and run outside. the skinny mob will come outside, and you can kill him in the open, but the goliath can't get through the front door, so he'll just wedge himself in the doorway, and you can spam burning spears at him until he's dead. he might throw a few rocks at you but that's all he can do.
Exploding deer grenade for the win!
Frey's shoes are indestructible lol
I'm having fun game is amazing the nit picking most ppl are doing can be done to any game
Damn dude. This game just came out!😅
This game is fun once u get the powers and mechanics down
Always preferred melee when there's an option for it.
I’m very late to the party having just bought it on sale.
The game looks and feels really good but my flatmate said “she talks all the time! She’d talk underwater”
And it looks like he was right, I think in your footage I just saw her literally talking underwater😁🤣😂
This game is amazing !
This game is so fun
How do you remain locked on? Mine turns off the minute i parkour out of the way from an enemy attack, then it becomes hit or miss for the lock on to go back on.
Definitely like being ranged and untouched(if possible)
finally a decent review and analysis
How do u get the other Tantas magic? I just got to chapter 4 but only have freys magic
Following the main quest unlocks all magic types
I was just about to uninstall the game and I am just before this mission so thank you I will give it another chance
I was actually interested in this I love games from Square Enix. So I ended up pushing out the money and picked it up and actually I really enjoy it I also enjoy the character because she was in Resident Evil and she played Jade in the TV series but I saw some people's negative reviews I honestly don't find anything wrong with this game if ever decide to make a sequel I would definitely pick it up
I put 40 hrs into this game and noticed in this video you were able to change the r2 spells without opening up the wheel. How do you do that?
Yeah I've heard it takes a very long time to start getting your other spells Is on your stock with the rock spell for hours is there a quicker way to get them
Literally takes a few hours to get red magic. If you farm xp and max out burst shot its 10× better than it is when you first start
This game have the replay value?
For me I want a balance of both close and far
Sila's tree is still the one for that lol.
Shimmy does use stamina at first, its not til you upgrade it that it uses none.
Please keep us with the build update please
Wait … im into chapter 4 (almost done basically) about how much farther till you even learn slice ,arc slice ,rage slice etc? 👀👀
Chapter 4 is nowhere even near almost done. Chapter 5 is the answer to your question though.
Chapter 4 is just where the tutorial is winding down and the actual game "starts"
But I don't have those spells open right after I leave the city . Is this unlock after some leveling
As much as I can't stand the story or Freys attitude I have to say I'm really enjoying this game. The combat and mobility and skill/gear choices are so on point its insane. The world is is also beautiful and intriguing to say the least.
What's negative about the game?
Whats the name of the main city?
Do you have a Range Build?
I bought this last weekend
Gonna finish god of war first then tackle this
I’m so op my character doesn’t lose health! At all. Lmao. Even on hard difficulty everything dies almost instantly and I still don’t lose any health. OP for the win lol
5:10 you say “some support skills” shortcut you to max charge, but in fact EVERY support skill will allow you to shortcut to max charge!
You play on PC or PS5 ?
Dude. fort Optima is filled with the Break!!!!!
You cant make a camp fire there. 6:35
such a deep and satisfying combat and movement and people hand waved a game because of twitter memes. biggest tragedy this year next to Immortals. Another great game like this
2 things u neglect to mention when it comes to trying to play the cqc play style. Super armor and ridiculous revenge value.
Looks good. Will wait for the inevitable ultra edition with all DLC as well as full patching, for half price.
You forgot homeslice
Is this a hack and slash? The enemies don't appear to do a whole lot
Edit: Not a dig or negativity just asking
It lands somewhere right in-between hack n slash and a "souls like". Plays like Infamous.
Those enemies do a lot imo
They can easily catch you off guard
The boss battles are phenomenal I can’t even lie
@@fatboi3603 yeah they feel unique also they don't fight the same which adds to it
Is the game fun?
Not perfect, but I liked it. Fun gameplay when you actually use the combat system to its full potential. Vid on that soon
@@BoomstickGaming So no
@@PlagueJ you can't read?
Wait for a sale this game is not worth the full price.
@@MegaDman16i paid full price then got the DLC
this game is pretty cringy what ive seen so far and the graphics are not good for a only next gen game.
but the combat looks always amazing to me.
i may give it a try on sale
I love when I don't pre-order a bad game at release
why is this game so foggy, to cover up that it cant render that far due to performance issues>
There is actually a "corruption cloud" that dynamically travels across the map. When it enters your area, it turns the zone into this 00:14
Thank you the game is actually very clean and by default I always turn off motion blur
I’m lost. I don’t see “slice” anywhere
Ik you probably already found out but if you didn’t. You have to keep playing through the story. Once you beat the first tanta then you’ll be able to get slice.
Game looks so blurry in every video.
Probable because your watching it on RUclips? you are aware that it compresses its video right? wasn't a issue when games was played at lower res, but high graphical game like these, the compression becomes very clear, and yes i said "high graphical" as I am playing it on max setting and currently have no issues, its miles ahead of the ps5 version and pc KnM control is simply sublime.
Another thing to do guys is just out the game on easy and then any build is overpowered
everyone complaining about this game probably don’t got the skill play
"In chapter 4, and don't worry, that's just a couple hours into the game..."
"..you're going to take down your first real boss."
I was watching this guide to see if Forspoken is any good and the gameplay doesn't convince me that much. The bosses look creative and fun, but the mobs look very uninspired and travelling seems tedious.
Traveling is easy and very fun and rewarding, enemies are very engaging including the mini bosses you meet out in the world and in labyrinths. The story is pretty alright, and graphically it looks pretty dang good and it performs very well on the PS5 and that's not running performance mode
The graphics look weird. The world is beautiful but the combat animations fire etc looks kinda bad, or is it just me?
Looks quite liquid IMO. More like throwing magma around than fire.
U guys buying this game?🤣
I’ll pass game looks like old dog water
World is so empty in this game
This game is so boring
Story bad but gameplay not
Bad optimization, these graphics do not justify the specs it's asking for on the PC. Hogwarts Legacy runs circles around Forspoken graphically, and it has a lower spec requirement.
The hell you expect! It be like that when you have different companies n employees who are better at they job than others!
@@Supa262 ignore this dude, he has left the same comment in most Forspoken reviews I have looked at. Most likely a bot
The combat system is very boring. But the main story is cool. I hope they will rework mechanics in a part 2
Only three spell options at once on PC? Lameee
People that enjoy bad games make me 😡
Na, you're mad that you can't think for yourself you only do what other people tell you to do.
I appreciate boomstick videos. But this pile of trash of a game is a hard pass.
Lol this game ended up being such garbage!!!
OP early? I played on hard V lined the campaign and didnt break a sweat. This game is for babies or monkies.
Whoever decided to use that fishbowl effect in the menu needs to be fired.
