      @@ProducingInTheBox still trying to figure it out. I know the detachable browser is getting a good workout and fits my workflow, but probably global key change and despite some criticism, but that could be operator error, the clip launcher. I originally got started with ableton so it was a go to and to have inside studio one with scratch pad as well….both huge pluses

      None, they're all nonsense aimed at those who produce brain-rot drivel.

    Visibility and visual ergonomics is the biggest improvement in my opinion ! Huge difference to improve the arrangement workflow. And all the rest that you point out are very good, bit of course you dont use them always. Overall very happy with this update !

    The ability to loop events by just dragging them to the right is something that was missing in Studio One and I am glad they have finally put it in.

    Very happy with this update. Auto tempo detection is my favourite new feature - should make life much better!

    As always a great video!!!
    This is the most exciting new version of Studio One in the last years.
    To put it in an order:
    1. the ableton-esk Launcher,
    2. the splice-integration,
    3. the stems-separation and
    4. global transpose bring Studio One on another level and make it a top 5 daw, for me no. 1 as it works cross platform.

    The stem separation tool is interesting. I’m not sure what sort of use case I would have for it but it looks like fun.

    Went back to Logic after paying for Studio One 6 I was I bit upset as I had Artist and if I had waited the upgrade would have been less from Artist to 7 than my previous purchase I made only a few months ago. It doesn’t seem like they have a good price model in place and I have everything in Logic I need - long run it feels more cost effective than to be thrown round various hybrid and changeable perpetual options.

    No Eucon support = not upgrading until they do! I need my S1s and my Avid dock to work in whatever DAW I use going forward. I'm sticking with Cubase until Studio One gets Eucon support.

    Since Presonus has no trial version available (as of this posting), can you tell me if they have recording available in the cells, and more importantly, can you set it to 2 bars then have it punch out automatically and start looping? So that you can move onto the next track and build a song that way? Or is it only a half-baked idea where it doesn't really do any of those things?

  • @justbob9006

    @ProducinginTheBox this stem seperator, will it work with old recordings from a portastudio like tascam mixed down to CD? Could a mixed down track for CD playablilty b loaded as a song inS1, and be able to be seperated? Thanks for entertaining the question.
    Great video!!

    • @ProducingInTheBox
      @ProducingInTheBox  10 часов назад +2

      Absolutely! All you need to do is get the file in the DAW! If it’s a stereo (or mono) file and it had more than 1 track, you can separate it with studio one!

      @@ProducingInTheBox thank you! Thats perfect! I have some old songs that I'd like to seperate out since I no longer have the original recordings. The Tascam died a horrible death. Lol. This gives me hope!!

    Be nice to see a more detailed expose on the clip launcher; specifically recording in the cells. Seems a little clunky but on the plus side cf ableton….dragging who.e scenes into arrangements is ways cool. Do not understand why ableton haven’t rolled with this

      @@officialWWM you're missing the big picture. it's a reference to what S1 does well, but that it has something that 'isn't quite as advertised' within it's infrastructure. not sure there's any need to be so sensitive re another DAW. like so many the opportunity to use multiple Daw's is as prevalent now as ever and we all have 'backgrounds'. if you listened to the tutorial you'll hear also that the presenter references his background in logic...and if i'm correct specifically the loop function in events/clips.

    • @officialWWM
      @officialWWM 8 часов назад

      @@dkkrecords my point is, I don’t care what other daw makers are doing. I have used many others in the past too but I have settled on S1 in the last few years. All daws have their pros and cons but you gotta decide what’s right for you. Far more important (in my opinion) is that you fully know and understand the DAW that you are using! What others are doing is just a distraction.

    Not impressed with the stem separator at all. Vocals and "Other" sounded phasey as heck. Stringed instruments all go into the "Other" track. Bass was just crap. Yeah its a fun toy to play with but no practical use. I've never needed or used stem separation so for me it's not a selling point. May be different for others. Global transpose. Meh. I guess if you work with musicians that just can't make up their mind what key to play in and vocalists that just can't hit it. Don't forget to tell people that want to use Splice there is a $12.99 month fee. The loop feature is the only thing that appeals to me.

      “Childish”? Seriously? It simply looks clearer and cleaner. It’s so much easier to see the separate events now and makes the whole thing much more user friendly. I’m pretty sure they don’t make these decisions lightly. A lot of research goes into decisions like this!
