Number 108 is very significant in eastern religions as a number representing connections with the divine. Having it as this guys HP is almost a funny way to say "youre fighting a demigod"
I saw another video of someone trying this boss and they were like "okay so just defend so he has nothing" and then Whacka did an attack that hurt itself for 1 point of damage like 6 times... *he injures himself to give himself ammo*
SPOILER WARNING FOR THIS THAT I AM SPACING OUT SO THAT ONLY THOSE WHO CLICK "READ MORE" WILL BE ABLE TO SEE IT! . .. ... .... ..... ...... ....... ........ ......... .......... ........... ............ Alright, don't say I didn't warn you! I searched up what 108 meant after this awesome stream, and it's apparently means A LOT of different things depending on the religion, such as the wholeness of existence itself, or the stages of the human soul's journey. Since this is about a boss fight though, I'd guess it's the Buddhism religion's meaning of 108, as in the number of temptations humans face; sins that must be avoided to attain enlightenment, such as violence. Pokemon fans are familiar with this, because the Pokemon Spiritomb is entirely themed around the number 108, even down to the stats. As you can imagine, using such a significant spiritual number for the Whacka's HP will only add fuel to the fire that is Whacka memes, including about how it's secretly a god-like entity or some ethereal punisher of some sort, so um, good luck with that, everyone!
108 immediately caught my attention as being the number of spirits present in the pokémon Spiritomb.. I think it has some ties with the afterlife, or spirituality, in Japanese culture. I'm no expert though :p Edit: another commenter mentioned that it represents connections with the divine; I was on the right track!
>:3 I went to sleep before you got here Glad you enjoyed the Superbosses, it really felt that the devs looked at the internet and saw what's really fun for long time fans and put effort into these for new and old players alike
There is about 160 new pieces of music on top of the existing OST, a new set of credits, eased backtracking in chapters 4, 5, and 7, and another new boss fight not shown here.
I just wanna thank you for being one of the good ones who don't post spoiler thumbnails, cause I was spoiled to one as well a bit earlier.
I would hate to have spoiled anyone on this!

Cool detail.Does the 96HP/6atk/6def have any significance for the other boss?
I love how the music has an epic intro just long enough to be a hilarious bit, then goes into a still-intense-but-more-fitting theme afterward
When I did this fight I got the Bowser Statue and Meteor stage hazard back to back

i would’ve preferred 195 😒
really interesting, thank you!
The temptation to avoid part feels like the intention, since, y'know... the temptation to whack the Whacka and all that
I've already been spoiled on this and one other but I just eanna say thank you for putting forth the effort to save us
Just completed the fight. I found Shell Shield soooo useful as it blocks every attack in a salvo. This fight was super cool and well designed!
Also wonder is mis mouz can still a bump from waka on the fight

What do you mean? What's master quest?
@@nekonomicon2983 64 romhack that makes the game harder
@@nekonomicon2983popular mod for Paper Mario 64 that makes the game much harder
@@nekonomicon2983both of these bosses seem to be HEAVILY inspired by romhacks of paper mario 64
