You’re obviously taking a pride with creating your miniature railroad. For example, really appreciate how level your back scene boards are looking. You deserve more subscribers to come on board. Thank you for taking the time to record, edit and publish your very interesting videos.

Over these past few months it really feels like its become much more than a layout I'm simply building for myself. I'm glad the pleasure I get from sharing this journey comes across in the videos and thanks for sharing those very kind words.

I so agree with you on motivation Martyn, sometimes I seriously stall because I feel way too challenged by something, wiring, for example, is my total killer. I absolutely despise it because I feel really stupid when I'm doing it. Another great video and such a relevant topic. I find the best way to boost my morale and get going again is MR RUclips, and then also watching real engines run on RUclips too. You have an INCREDIBLE layout, I would love to one day build something as impressive as this! Have a great weekend, Hylt.

Thanks Hylt!!! Working in learning and development I've come to realise that those things we find most difficult are usually the ones we have least experience in. Sometimes its hard at first, but the more we invest in the right type of learning the easier it becomes and subsequently the more we enjoy it. If you keep working at your wiring skills then one day you'll look back on this time and wonder why you didn't like it. And seeing the progress you've been making from an absolute beginner to now, I know your layout will be awesome. Can't wait to see your next update.

I find making things away from the layout helps and then fixing them in place. I try and do one thing a day even if it is just sticking half a dozen figures on a platform.

Thats a really nice tip, thanks. I think seeing continuous progress is a really good way of keeping motivated, especially when its cold and heading off to the garage isn't so appealing.

Well done Martyn, I like your coir work. Happy Birthday for your layout looking good.
I would like some super elevation on my curves. Would you consider printing pieces to order?
    Thanks
    David

Thanks David. For various reasons I'm not keen to start offering anything commercially (except to benefit our club at the annual exhibition). But in this case I might have a few spares to hand. If you can drop me an email to donningtoncastlemr@gmail.com and let me know what you need I'll do my best to help.

Hi Mark. Happy birthday to Donnington Castle Model Railway. I was looking forward to the segment on superelevation, until I became confused over the slot for the track. The slot appeared (to me) to be at 90° to the direction I was expecting - what is going on?

Hi, thanks for leaving the comment. Apologies for any confusion, the slot is for a track pin if you use them to secure your track in place. It should really be narrower than the sleeper that will lie over it so that it remains supported on both sides. I don’t use pins myself so don’t have the slot on the pieces I print. But am aware the ones you can buy commercially have this feature so thought I’d show that. Hope that clears up any confusion.
