The design for the new board looks fantastic, be great to see the diesels and steam locos side by side 🎉

Btw, what type of ballast do you go for? Looks n gauge? I was looking to try using chinchilla sand, which seems to be a good scale ⚖️

@@_RandomPea yeah I'm looking forward to it. It's now looking a while off as it won't fit in the loft and will therefore have to wait until I move the layout into some sort of shed. I've just ordered the baseboards for the station module though.

@@_RandomPea it's woodland scenics fine ballast. What is traditionally sold as 00 scale ballast is usually over scale when compared to the real railway. I quote like woodland scenics fine with a mix of grey blend and sometimes buff. I might well look at chinchilla sand in the future as it does seem like a good cheap alternative.

@@HorsehayRailwayModeller ah that's good and bad news, I've just finished painting up one station platform, so interested to see your methods. I used 3 5mm foam boards glued together and then topped with a watered down lightweight plaster. It seems to work quite well. I reckon I could have got it smoother but it's ok.

@@HorsehayRailwayModeller new junction used it, I think it's ok. I'll show my tester in my update video later, it seems like a good option, until they realise that modellers are using it and the prices hike up 😂

I looks so good. I hope you're pleased with the results from your effort. I also like your creative saves where it didn't quite go to plan.

Good descision to not fix the backboard before painting the backdrop. I didn't have any choice so had to paint mine in situ this week. Was tricky but got there in the end. Your viaduct looks amazing with the water down and the backdrop in place. Nice one really well done.

Yeah, the next one will be a bit of a pain I think but as you'll see in the next video it's glued in place to support a curve. Thanks for watching
