    I have addition options I’d like to offer.
    1. An apothecary
    2. A pub/bar
    3. A religious convent/church/cathedral
    4. Town guard barracks
    5. Multi guilds - thieves, assassins, warriors, merchant, or adventurers

    Congratulations on your splendid contribution to the diorama! 🎉 Your creation of a captivating medieval windmill, complete with a meticulous explanation of its construction and functionality, is truly commendable. I appreciate how you seamlessly wove in a history lesson amidst your imaginative work. It’s delightful to anticipate the next installment! 🏰🌟
    As for what lies ahead, how about envisioning a medieval baker’s shop nestled along the roadside, accompanied by merry minstrels? Picture the aroma of freshly baked bread wafting through the air, while travelers pause to enjoy a warm loaf and the lively tunes of wandering musicians. 🥖🎶✨

    This is my favorite type of windmill, and it's lovely to see in made in LEGO! :D I wasn't actually sure if this type was used in the middle ages, or only later. But now I definately want to try making a moc myself for a medieval diorama!

    • @1by1Brick
      @1by1Brick  4 месяца назад +2

      I read that the crusaders brought windmill tech to Europe after encountering them in the middle east which in turn were adaptations of far east tech. These were horizontally spinning with sails though. Europeans combined it with the water wheel tech and the postmill was born since vertical rotation was more efficient but it had to be turned to face the wind. So postmills are from the middle ages, one of earliest types infact! Thats if what i read is correct ofcourse…

      @@1by1BrickWe have a "Bockwindmühle" as it is called in German in the village of Dornum nearby. It was build in 1626, and by this it is one of the "newest" of its type: In those days many "Bockwindmühlen" in Eastern Frisia were being replaced by the more modern "Holländerwindmühlen" (coming from Holland), as a guide told us on our visit last year. He said the Bockwindmühle goes back to the 11th century.

      @@BricksOnAnIsland Ahh, that's really interesting! There's an open air museum here in Denmark that has a so called "Stubmølle" (Same as Bockwindmühlen) that dates to a similar period, and that's why I thought it might not go back to the middle ages, but I'm really glad both of you shared your knowledge 😁
