Why isn’t MTA increasing the volume and capacity of trains and bus with this added riders forced by congestion pricing? I barely can squeeze into my usual train because of this. The MTA service is already gotten worse without it getting better. With the added funding from congestion pricing, why isn’t MTA adding more buses and trains for the increase ridership right away? Where is the extra budgeted funding used for? We need an audit of the MTA.

How about they stop the fare evaders on their buses and subways. 50% of bus riders and 20% of subway riders illegally don’t pay. $700 million a year in lost revenue. I guess it’s cool if cars obstruct their plate when entering the congestion zone right? Ohhh no, that will be strictly enforced with possible suspension of registration and driving privileges. It's good but improve the public transportation first like China. Our government don't want to invest in transit but need the money. It's the worst city to travel in.
We need more small vans, not the current long As bus. People don't want to wait 30 minutes for a bus. More shorter trains so there is no wait time. NYC MTA does things opposite of a well run transit system. Let private business run vans. People want to save money and time. For example, it teaches me 1 hour to go from Hicksville Long Island to Chinatown Manhattan by car. Buy train with transfers etc., that's going to be at least 1.5 hour. If I'm wasting 1 hour round trip, I want a good saving on cost. However, my cost will be 22 for LIRR and 6 for the city train. That's about $28 for one person. It's crazy. If the politicians want it to work, make transportation cheap and fast. We need to learn from other countries.

Love how all the naysayers are saying "People will just use fake plates". Do you not think the MTA and NYPD have considered that too? Technology is getting more sophisticated that it's so easy to track any car using fake license plates. You can thank so many cameras in the city for that.

Does anyone know if you can avoid it if you are coming in from the Holland and going around to the Manhattan Bridge by taking 9W and around to the FDR drive?
the more direct route is Canal, but it seems that the exemption rules can let you avoid it, since you don't actually want to go into Manhattan but that is the most direct route from Jersey City and Hoboken to Long Island.

In fact, they will actually benefit from this as the roads will be clearer of personal vehicles and can more efficiently deliver their goods. Time is money.
