    Soap & Clay is a family owned business operating in Washington State, but started out online thanks to Mrs. Soap & Clay's kickass brother and his amazing web design skills. The business was started as a tribute to Mrs. Soap & Clay's grandmother, the OG maker in the family that cultivated everyone's love for the DIY life. The studio/retail shop opened in 2017 on 6th Ave in Tacoma, and immediately began teaching soap, bath bomb, lotion, and scrub classes to the makers and maker enthusiasts of the PNW. In 2019, the pottery studio opened as well, making the soap shop a busy place full of artistic energy every minute of the day.
    Mrs. Soap & Clay has been featured on Business Spotlight, New Day Northwest, and was awarded a coveted place on the South Sound's 40 under 40 list in 2019, an award given to the most influential business people under the age of 40 each year. She cried when she walked up to the podium to accept the award. A lot.
    Drawing from her chemistry background and her maker spirit, Mrs. Soap & Clay infuses her favorite things into her soapy designs and creates products that are fun to see, use, and learn to make. Stick around for this ride - she'll take you on a great one.

    As an aside: the entire S&C family is sick with the flu. We’ve never all been sick at the same time. Send soup. 😂

      Oh no! My son’s been dealing with something, and I feel bad, but the rest of us are fine. I’m guessing it’s a cold that’s turned sinus infection. Because he said he feels fine physically.
      I hope all of you feel better ASAP!

      Elderberry elderberry elderberry! We had the flu a, bronchitis and walking pneumonia in the house 2 weeks ago and I escaped their evil grasp by chugging a homemade syrup every single day. You can get some at the pharmacy or an herbal store instead

    I have used the little flower molds before with leftover bath bomb powder. Most of my family have showers not tubs, so I package the little flowers as manicure/pedicure bombs, they can use in a basin of water. Love the idea of adding to a regular bath bomb for decoration. I will try that.

    Do you think that's possible to make bath bombs with soap shred?

    Off topic question... Can you rebatch soap by adding glycerin instead of water, when reheating the soap in a crock pot?

    • @MrsSoapAndClay
      @MrsSoapAndClay  Год назад +1

      Hey! You can - that’s a way to make melt and pour soap.

    Great idea actually! I always had topped bombs with just plain MnP soap, so I was really boring, lol. I like your idea! I had always taken the leftover bomb mix and put it into little mini colored plastic cups with a toy inside and left on a tray to later top all with a bubble frosting and glitter or sprinkles. I would sell them later at a very low cost or give with orders when someone bought bath bombs for their kids. Heres a tip I just saw/learned for filling your trays with the leftover mix. Cover the areas you won't be filling with one of those flat plastic pastry/frosting scrapers. It works so well. Helps you fill in the shapes with your mix and the scraper stops your mix from going into shapes you don't want it to. Saving your mix to completely fill the areas you're trying to fill. A great tip that I have been using lately I love your idea. Ty for sharing always.

    When we were kids, my mom wanted us to all get sick and be done with it instead of one at a time…didn’t say it was a GOOD plan..just a plan.

      My mom was the same way! Like ALL of us are sick right now - my parents, webman and his family, and the four of us so maybe we’ll all be done with the flu for the year!

    All you do turns out nice. I think if I would have started out painting the small toppers and putting them on the already colored bombs, because I am also not great until I get a blazing vision of what to do. So sad to hear you are all sick and wish I could send you some soup! :(
