    Interesting process. I'm definitely going to give it a try. I live in Arizona...one thing I know for sure, if I glued down the entire sheet first, it would be bone dry by the time I placed my first piece of paper on it!!! I will definitely be glueing one section at a time. The desert is brutally dry!! And I love the idea of the freezer paper covered boards! Thank you, Sally.

      Veronica Phillips I understand about the desert. I spent a few months in Taos. I live in Oregon, much different.

    This video is right up my alley! I absolutely love collage and using scraps. RUclips put this video in my feed and I had to check it out. I’ve seen a few similar process videos but yours is very captivating.....your papers are awesome! I plan to peruse your channel on gel printing and “painty papers” & such. I’m dying to try and make homemade paper....I just need time to do it lol. I also like pressing flowers and came up with an idea on how to incorporate them into a project like this. I’ve been saving old sheets and pillow cases...would be perfect for this! TYFS! New subbie here Michigan ❤️🦋💜

    2:50 I coated some fabric/paper beads with Mod Podge. They're STILL tacky. 8 years later. Wouldn't ever touch the product again (it was the glossy type). May be fine if you want something to stick down, like a stamp onto its backing? but as a glossy "finish" it's a total fail. 4:18 Brilliant idea! TFS 😁😁

    I really appreciate you sharing this.
    I first saw this idea and they used a $29 - 9 oz bottle of pva bond and that was the end of my wanting to try it! 😢just way too expensive for my blood.
    I'm so excited to find your channel and discover I can use school glue! Now that I can actually afford! 😂 although I just donated 20 bottles with other school supplies so I'll have to get more.
    Oh, well it was a good cause. Thanks again for the information.
    I can't believe they didn't mention a cheaper alternative because I almost died looking up the product...and yours turned out just as lovely as hers. So school glue for the win!

    I am really loving this. I do remember watching a tutorial of someone doing something similar and either they used expensive products or I felt it was too complicated, but I enjoyed your process and feel very inspired to try it this weekend! I definitely want to make some to use for covers of my many glue books/journals! Tfs, Kay

      Thanks Kay! I do want to add that I had better luck when I used a better quality glue that the Dollar Tree brand. Elmers or matte medium work well. Have fun!

    Tip: cover glossy modpodge with clear gesso and it will eliminate stickiness.

    I know this video is 3 years old but I hope you get this comment. Well you are if your reading this Studio Rat and I want to tell you that I love what you talk about, it’s my dream to have a Etsy store one day I’m 53 of course I’m still dreaming. I’ve learned to make paper cloth from a few others but I love that your making sure your edges of your cloth is straight so that their isn’t much to cut off and your video is only a little over 30 minutes. I hope you show us the results. I’ve ordered some napkins and I have some other paper that I save and I am going to use Elmer’s glue mixed with water. The other glue was too glossy and stick it takes a lot to get it right, with a lot of crafts. So it’s not sticky. Elmers has been the best and the clear one too. Anyways thanks for this video and I am subscribing Have A Blessed day or evening..

    Neat! Does it have to be thin like napkins, or could I do it with something I printed on printer paper?

      @studiorat1766  4 года назад

      Printer paper is ok to use too as long as the ink is set. It will get wet.

    What type of glue? Do you thin your glue with water...whats the ratio?

    • @studiorat1766
      @studiorat1766  4 года назад +2

      I use white glue like Elmers and thin it about 50/50. Thanks for watching.

    Did you ever make a purse out of this?

    • @studiorat1766
      @studiorat1766  3 года назад

      I did. It was just a small pouch. It’s a good idea to crumple and then smooth it a few times to soften it up. When I use it to make covers, tags and pockets that’s not necessary.

  • @Amylynnp777

    Can I sew this?

    • @studiorat1766
      @studiorat1766  3 года назад

      You can sew it. But it doesn’t work well on regular seams. Sew like you would paper. Thanks for watching!

    • @studiorat1766
      @studiorat1766  3 года назад

      There may be some water resistance. They are after all coated with glue which is basically a plastic, right? I have not tested them with water. Thanks for watching the video.
