What a beautiful journal! I love the ribbon butterfly you made. Thank you so much for sharing how you make the fabric paper. I can't wait to try making some.
I've been interested in paper cloth for a couple of years. It seems so versatile, I see some that are very transparent through multilayered, substantial ones. I'm in the process of improving my work space and may have roo, to try it soon! Very pretty journals!
My head is swirling with ideas! I wonder if thin wrapping paper would work? I have limited access to pretty tissue paper, but have a ton of cheap, therefore thin, wrapping papers. Will try this tomorrow. I am always so inspired by you, Cat. Thanks for so generously sharing yourself with others.
Yay! 😃 I think it will work, it will probably wrinkle up, but that’s part of the process. It’ll give it great texture, for sure. Let me know how it turns out! 😊
Thank you, Linda and welcome to my channel! I’m glad you enjoyed this video. You could also use an old bed sheet to create the fabric paper, if you have that on hand. I appreciate your watching, commenting, and subscribing! 😊😊😊
That is such a clever idea. Really cute. I was thinking of using a piece of cotton bed sheet as the fabric (I don't have any muslin!). Thank you for sharing 😊
oh Cat this is such a wonderful idea - i have so many pretty napkins and tissue papers - i just recently ironed some in between cereal bags to make journal covers - but i love this technique and will give it a try - also i love your ribbon butterfly 🦋 - thank you !! xx 🤗
Cat , this is a super wonderful video , I’ll be playing this over and over , my godmother, JANET NASH turned me onto it , your amazing, you’ve inspired me 🍒🧚♀️😎🌷🍄🍄🌷😎🧚♀️🍒🐈🍒🧚♀️🌷🍄

I buy mine at the 99 cent store or Dollar stores....although their prices are going up rapidly. I also enjoy dying/painting my white issue paper beautiful colors & doing the same process as Cat is showing us. It's fun!
Thank you, Maria. The Book of Colors video series took place in 2021 - we did one page/color each month. This year we are making altered playing cards. If you missed any of the Book of Colors videos, they are all still available on my channel. 😊

Could you use a card stock piece instead of fabric? Or is there a better advantage to use the fabric instead? Love this video. Love the beautiful tissue paper.I bought something from you and it was wrapped in beautiful tissue and I saved it so I will use it for this process Hugs
Thanks, Sue. You can definitely use card stock, but the advantage of using fabric inside the tissue paper layers is that it’s much more durable. You could use a piece from an old bed sheet as your fabric, too. Happy creating! 😊
Thanks! 😊 Here is a link to my Amazon store, where I’ve just added a few of the tissue papers I have used: www.amazon.com/shop/cathand The napkins were purchased at a Tuesday Morning store, a few years ago.
Thank you so much for sharing the creation of these book covers - I guess now you have three and they are absolutely beautiful. I really like the napkins you chose to use. I appreciate the information regarding using white material versus a beige or different color too.

@@CatHand awesome, thanks so much
Beautiful! What kind of glue do you use in your glue/water mixture
Thanks, Sharon! I use Elmer’s School Glue. 😊
Can you do the colorful tissue as a 12x12 or 11x8.5 digital download in your Etsy store please?
No, I’m sorry, I cannot. It is not my artwork and would be copyright infringement.
Thank you so much for sharing the creation of these book covers - I guess now you have three and they are absolutely beautiful. I really like the napkins you chose to use. I appreciate the information regarding using white material versus a beige or different color too.
Thanks so much, K! I’m glad you found it helpful! 😊
Cat, where do you find such gorgeous tissue papers? I love this journal Thank you for sharing
Thanks, Sarah. I get most of my tissue paper in bulk, from a variety of online stores. 😊
🤗
Is the glue mixture made with any glue or something else? I have tried glue recently and the glue is not adhering. suggestion!!! using school glue
I’m using Elmer’s School Glue with water, and it’s working well for me. Make sure you’re saturating the fabric, letting it really soak in well. 😊
