We ordered our 2022 RAM 3500 High Output Laramie Dually in March of 22. We took delivery the first week of Nov 22. It is a Night Edition and silver in color. Absolutely gorgeous. They do come de-tuned until you get about 500 miles on them, then that HO wakes up. Holy cow the torque this thing has. The electronics, ride, and smoothness of the Aisin has come a long way. We live full time in a 5th wheel and I can't think of another truck that would be better than the RAM. Great video
I just installed 6 Falken Wildpeak HT02 HD tires on my 2022 Ram Laramie Mega Cab dually. These are highway tires. They are well priced and are super quiet on the road. You can get them at Discount Tire, or through many other retailers. Good luck with your search! One of my OEM Nexen tires blew out at 29,000 miles, so you may want to factor that into your decision. Our 5th wheel has a GVWR of 14,040, so you're RV is much heavier than ours. Enjoyed your video!!!
I have a nearly identical truck, but a Laramie and in white with the leather interior. I made many decisions similar to you, such as not getting factory air bags and going for the 50 gallon tank. I added a Ranch Hand grill guard and also Ranch Hand step rails. I installed the 7500lb air bags too, and also an auxiliary 70 gallon tank that fits underneath the bed cover. With 120 gallons of fuel capacity we can pull our 45ft triple axle Momentum 5th wheel a LONG distance. Enjoyed the video and looks like we had the same opinions in many aspects of choosing out trucks. Happy Travels.
Niiiice informative video!!! We got a 2022 3500 Limited trim package and the one mod I highly recommend is the centramatic wheel balancers…total game changer that wheel extend the life of those cheeeep Nexans. The tires always stay balanced, prolongs the life of the tires, and the truck rides smoother while generating less heat when going down the road.
You have done quite a bit to make that truck yours, I like all the mods. I put continental Terrain Contact ATs on my 350 and I have been very happy with them. They give you a bit of tread for mild off-road use but they are very quiet and comfortable. If you prefer highway tread you can get the HT. I have been switching almost all our vehicles to Continentals, I think they are better than Michelins and generally are a bit more economically priced. Of course this is like an oil debate, haha. Buy what you like, you have to deal with them for the next 100k miles hopefully!
Great video. We have a 2020 Ram 3500 SRW but we are picking up our new 5th wheel next week and it’s going to need a DRW. We love our Ram so we will be going with another Ram. I appreciate you taking the time to review yours and all the mods. Very helpful. 👍🏼❤️
It's a great truck. I have a 2016 Ram Laramie 3500 dually. Love the color on your truck. I ran those factory tires for 50,000 miles and then went with the Toyo All terrain AT2. I also went up to the 255/80-17 just to get a little lower RPM and better economy when not towing. It hasn't affected the towing performance at all.
I am going to step-up to 255/80-17 too since that is the biggest tire you can use without a lift. I am also going to go with more all terrain but I think I am going to go with actual mud/snow tire (possibly Goodyear) since we drive a lot in snow and and off-pavement dirt. Thank you for your insight.
I love your truck and new 5th wheel. That color just pops in the sun. I drive a 21 F350 in the same configuration as yours and I really like it, but I’d like to have two. I like all the dually’s. My choice was an F450, but I couldn’t find one at the time I bought mine. My cc is 5,650. It’s nice to not have to worry about weight anymore. One thing you may want is the dually air-up system that relocates the inner dually valve stem to the outer hub cap. So much easier than trying to find that inner stem. Congrats!
We looked at F450’s but they were out of our price range and we love RAM. Our air Chuck has a front and rear facing valve which makes it super easy to fill the dually tires.
I really enjoyed this video and thats a gorgeous truck! We ordered a 22 F450 for full time living and absolutely love it! Ram is always my second choice, though you've got 25ft lbs of torque on me 😉
Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about I just bought a 2022 Ram Laramie 3500 CCLB and love the 50 gals fuel tank, I almost bought a 2022 dually but concern what we tow I have a 2019 Jayco Eagle that weight 13,000lbs guessing my setup will tow that with no problem. My wife wanted me to have all of the bells and whistlers and that I have and love. My payload is 4,055lbs which give me more than enough somewhere down the road I'm planning on getting another 5th wheel but it will be within my truck numbers. Great setup you have there that will last you for a long time.
Love the video, amazing. Wanted to share my truck with you, since we have similar tastes. 2022 RAM 3500 Dually Limited Longhorn Edition. 8 foot bed. Pearl Red. I have a 210 litre (I'm Canadian) tank in the bed, that allows me to refuel while driving. Tank isn't tied into the fuel line, just the filler portion, slow flow pump makes it easy.

I would suggest you go with an RV GPS so you can program the height, width, and length of you rig. The reason I say this is because Google maps could route you to low clearance overpasses or a steep rise in the road such as a railroad crossing. The RV GPS will route you around these hazards based off of what you program into it. I have run into situations like this. I have yet to find a built in GPS that is programmable.

I check the rout with Togo RV, which calculates our size but then I will use Google. Actually, on tomorrows drive I will use Apple as it had some interesting updates. Ether way, for the foreseeable future, we are in the west on major highways. Thanks!
@B B If you are looking for a dedicated RV GPS, I'd suggest looking at the Garmin units. Even consider going with a Trucker version. You can usually find them at a Loves Truck Stop (if you want to compare screen sizes). If you want something on your phone, I recommend TOGO RV. @@HomeMeetsRoad I second the RV890 by Garmin. We have been using it for 2 years now. Good luck on getting your truck! Hopefully soon! Found a bumper today that looks stock but is all steel. Really considering it. Funny thing, I thought I was done but we are adding some thing to the truck that we’re not in the list 😂 damn Mod Bug. RV manufacturer? Palomino is the only one that makes a 5th wheel like this (single floor with full basement). They actually have a patent pending on the design.
Hello first time watching any content from your channel love the video and what a truck. My wife and I have a 2020 ram 3500 dually 6.7 HO cummins, and I know we are supposed to warn the cummins up before driving. Where can I find information on warming the cummins up before shutting it down. And thank you. Rodger and Sheila
I go off of what friends have told me. I don’t turn off the truck until it reaches 100 degrees. I will drive it when it’s under 100 degrees but I will keep the RPMs low (under 2k). That’s just me.
@@HomeMeetsRoad thanks for the reply. When we are pulling and we pull over for a break i idl oil temp down to about 189 to give the turbo time to cool off some. I appreciate the info, I am going to see if my friends do it to. There have been times I just moved the truck over and then just shut it off. Now you have me thinking. Love your setup on the truck. I regret not getting the acc switches. Rodger and Sheila
Huh, I didn't know the engine brake/exhaust brake was/is an option for any of the Ram 2500 to 5500 diesel truck and not already came with from the factory?
As far as I know, exhaust brake is standard on all RAM Cummins ‘19 and up. We have 3 settings. OFF/ON/Auto. On is immediate when you let off the gas pedal. Auto is only when you hit the brake.
OK!! Im glad your washing your car in the camp ground. Because I am a professional detailer, and My wife and I are thinking about hitting the road full time, and also bringing my business with me!....Im curious, as you guys are full time RV'ers, is there a need for detailing with folks who live on the road for vehicles/trucks & even their RV's?
YES! OK… there are rules. Most campgrounds do not allow washing. This video was shot in Isla Blanca Park on South Padre Island. They allow washing, and several cleaning vans come through daily. It would not be easy to compete with their prices and make a living. Most KOAs do not permit washing. All Thousand Trails do! It comes down to where you go. It would take some research. Make sure you end up in a park that permits it and has patrons that can afford your prices. We just got our truck ceramic-coated, and it’s a game-changer on the road! I could see making a living off ceramic coating the front nose on RVs to help with the bug situation.
@@HomeMeetsRoad that is all very good information, thank you! I actually just quoted someone a ceramic coating on thier truck, and front of thier trailer. Thank you for replying!
You are welcome! Our ceramic guy said $10/ft for wash. $100/ft for polish and coating. If you can do a waterless wash, that would be a good money maker in RV parks that do not allow washing. As far as I understand, its a water use issue more than anything.

I wired a 7-pin circuit box behind the rear bumper which then gave me all the turn/brake, etc wires. I used a 7-pin interceptor harness so no factory wire was cut.
Because it’s a BigHorn and not a Laramie? Honestly, we like the BigHorn interior better. We have never been a fan of leather. We did not want the 12” screen. We don’t like all the screen controls. Prefer knobs. Other than that, we have all features.
@@HomeMeetsRoad oh, you like the cloth seats. But many options you put on aftermarket came from the factory, so not sure why you just didn’t go with a higher trim. I had 2021 bighorn with all the add ons you did aftermarket. Actually, my 2020 tradesman has those except the bed step. Aftermarket products tend to be subpar to the factory products with a few exceptions. Try not to take this as I’m hating on you, I’m just like to understand why do all this work afterwards when it could of came factory. Was it a money thing, did we spend too much on the trailer and left the budget for the truck a little less? I mean that would be understandable considering the cost of that rig.
It depends on which options we are talking about. The bed liner and Mopar easy step (to get into the bed) we’re on backorder at the factory. I was told it would take longer to get the truck (due to supply chain issues). I did not liked any of the factory-side step options. The ones we have are adjustable, you can slide them back and forth, in and out, so I can get them right where I want them. I’m not a fan of the factory air system. You lose the leave springs. Airbags are prone to go out. I wanted the factory heavy springs with the airbags added. If the airbags fail, it’s OK. Not only can the truck handle the trailer without the bags, but replacing the AirLift bags is $500 vs. $4000. Also, I don’t like the factory airbag control. I have complete control of the bag and can use it to lower (as we do daily drive with them engaged at 10psi) and raise the truck. It comes in handy when hooking up in odd campgrounds. For me, it’s not about leveling the truck, but more about adjusting the truck. No offense taken! We were in limbo (RAM did not release the 2022s for ordering), so we had six months to research and figured out what we wanted and didn’t. Was money a concern, yes. We didn’t want to spend $80k+ on a truck and then get denied for the RV loan, however we love our truck the way it is. I wouldn’t change a thing… OK… one thing I might want, but not sure I’d use it. The driver pre-sets.
@@HomeMeetsRoad awesome, thanks for the response. I’d say putting the airbags on before and after is not much different. The aftermarket will do the job as well as the factory. I do agree with you about control of the airbags would be great. But I still think that neither the aftermarket or factory is giving those options. Factory, you can’t raise or lower to a desired height. Aftermarket airbags aren’t going to allow you to go lower than the springs allow you to. I’m honestly not a fan of either. The airbag make the ride very hard. The more pressure you need, the harder the ride. Now if they used a semi style airbag that we could control the pressures, that would be an upgrade. The power steps are very nice and stable. They are quite wide for stability, lighted, and come down lower for a less of a step height. Plus, they tuck away. Hey, if you’re happy with what you got and things last and don’t cause you frustrations later, I’d call that a win. I never thought I’d like that green, but it looks good on your truck. Happy travels!
… and yes, I did go though the settings. Beep is turned off for remote start but once you drive and the keys are not on the seat, it will beep once driver door is opened and closed. Asked the dealer… no way round it. If you know of a way, please tell me!

Here is the link to the day I installed most of the system. That’s about the best I got right now. Let me know what questions you have!

Nice truck!
Thank you!
Mine is still waiting to be built since Jan? Thanks for the video, as for the bumpers I would vote NO but yes on a push bar, looking forward to more mod videos and some on the rv and why you chose that manf? If y’all come up I35 towards Dallas let me know 🤠
Good luck on getting your truck!
Great video! Congrats on the truck and trailer. What are your amber lights in the bed and lighted switch?
Here is a link to the LED Strips I use. I also used these to instal skirt lighting on the RV. amzn.to/3Gbs0f6
Here is the link to the switch I used: amzn.to/3nEupsa
@@HomeMeetsRoad Yep! Thats good money! And I do in fact do waterless as well. I've thought about that to. Thanks for the advice man!
Love the new truck! Is a winch addition coming along with the bumper change??? :)
If we do a complete bumper change, yes, but if it’s just a grill guard, then no.
Awesome setup. I'm intrigued by the tailgate light bars. Can you identify them?
They are motorcycle lights. I had to replace both sides once already due to moisture.

NICE RAM 😮😮!! I have a 2010 Ram 3500 . I've been setting it up for a trip. Im pulling a 35' travel trailer. What was the air kit # u had put on. I have the Roll-N-Lock bed cover. Nice move on the upgraded fuel tank. I'm thinking of getting 1 for my DODGE. Have a 🙏 BLESSED 🙏 DAY and thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
The air system is completely custom, it's not a kit but if you are looking for one, I recommend Vixen. They have kits on Amazon. Most of my parts are from them.
The 50 galling diesel tank is a game changer!
@@HomeMeetsRoad Thanks for your quick response. I'll check it out. Have

Did you add your aluminum side steps aftermarket or were they from the factory?
Aftermarket. The factory ones are overpriced for what you get IMO.
Super nice truck!! Just ordered a 23 model!! Where did you find the air coupler cover thing on your rear bumper? Did you make that out of something or buy it? That is slick!
Made it out of a 1.25” bike handle cover 😂
Wish I got the vsim with aux switches
Yea, they are nice!

Can you provide details of the bulb swap for the headlights?

Fog Lights are simple from under the truck.
Low Beams are done through inside the wheel well. You should see a flap that opens.
High Beams are a bit difficult. It’s done from the top and requires some slim arms.
@@HomeMeetsRoad Was it really as simple as removing the old bulbs and replacing w/the new ones? Your lights look WAY brighter than before.

Which battery tender model did you install ?
Sorry for the slow reply. Kept forgetting to pop the hood and look. It’s the NOCO Genisus 5.
Are u going to put centramatics on the wheels for balance?
Never heard of it. Will have to look into that. Thanks!
What lights are those on the back of the truck that you have for blinkers?

I wired a 7-pin circuit box behind the rear bumper which then gave me all the turn/brake, etc wires. I used a 7-pin interceptor harness so no factory wire was cut.
@@HomeMeetsRoadreviving from the dead but what is a 7 way intercept harness? This this what you are talking about for the junction box?

The transmission does not start with an a when you say it it is actually it is actually pronounced I-sin
If you look it up on pronouncenames.com it is: Aisin is pronounced as (A)=(zin)
@@HomeMeetsRoad Eye-sin is correct, but the popular and common is A-sin in North America

You went with the fancy trailer but penny pinched for the truck. Why is that?
Thanks!
Thanks for the informative video! How long did it take to get your new 3500 dually?

We have the remote start. Still does it.
