Customer service in this country has gone to hell in the last 3 years, I get so frustrated weekly. Every thing from drive throughs at fast food to large corporations. No one wants to help , no one has any common sense anymore. It’s all about doing as little as I can to get through the day. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and try to troubleshoot a problem you have , the 20 something year old that absolutely no idea what to do will be the only one around to help. You better know what your doing cause they surely don’t. It’s so sad no one has any pride in what they do anymore. I used to supervise 90 employees a few years ago and saw it coming, no initiative to learn anything on their own.

In 2017, I bought a new Ram 2500 to tow an RV trailer up the Alcan to Palmer, Alaska. I had a 2001 Cummins Ram with a 6-speed manual tranny that I kept but it had miles and I decided it was time for a newer truck. While the new truck was being prepared, an older salesman came over a told me to make the Alaska trip with the 2001 and leave the new Ram at home.

i'm an attorney. Sadly i must tell you - YOU NEEDED AN ATTORNEY FROM THE BEGINNING. the ONLY thing big companies understand now is getting sued - PERIOD. i am a "mopar guy." i have been for 50 years. i have a mopar collection including 7 68-69 Barracuda's and two Challengers, one a Hellcat. i purchased a NEW RAM 3500 cummings reg. cab 4x4 pickup in 2015. unfortunately, that was only a few years after Fiat acquired all of Chrysler's divisions. starting about a month after i took delivery of my newly ordered 3500 dooley, i started getting the check engine light on. over the course of the next year, the truck was at my dealer 12 times. the emission system on the Cummings just would not function and RAM ended up replacing the entire system under warranty, a cost of at least $8000.00. finally, the dealer Service Manager told me that he didn't think the system could be fixed. the Diesel Particle Filter (DPF) kept filling with soot because (as the service rep told me) - i wasn't driving the truck far enough. apparently, the Cummings emissions system cannot function under multiple short trips. the truck has to be on the road running for at least 50 miles EVERY TIME YOU DROVE IT! i told the dealer i had never heard of an engine design so ridiculous. SO... because i'm an attorney, i sued Chrysler/RAM under Pennsylvania's vehicle "Lemon Law" and Chrysler ended up paying me $8000.00 in cash. i sold the truck to "we buy any car" for $38,000 cash bringing me to a total settlement of $46,000. i had only paid $48k for the truck (it was a Tradesman model) so i was happy with the final result. my theory now is that the CLIMATE CRISIS CULT wants to ban all Diesel trucks so the auto companies are NOT spending any money on research and development to get the diesel emissions systems to work properly. that's a shame because i just LOVED MY RAM "when it was running." that truck would tow ANYTHING like it wasn't even hooked to the truck while getting 22mpg while doing it. HOWEVER, i never knew when i left in the truck if i was going to get home. i actually bought the truck to tow my (mopar) muscle cars to car shows - but that never happened as when the check engine light is triggered on a Cummings due to an "emission system failure" the truck goes into "limited driving" mode which is 200 miles. at the end of those miles, the truck shuts down! SO TO ALL YOU DIESEL TRUCK OWNERS out there - if you are getting jerked off by your dealer over fixing your NEW TRUCK - just go hire an attorney!! getting "Certified Mail" letters with intended Court dates included is the ONLY thing auto companies understand now.

Last week It was brought to my attention by an uninvolved insurance agent that my biggest mistake was not hiring a lawyer. She explained to me the whole insurance system is geared towards working within the legal process and not suing has greatly complicated my case. He previously worked at a different dealership & went out of his way to help me on a couple occasions. I have had similar experiences with a dealership in SWFL where the service was abysmal & nobody seemed to care. I have story after story of how they messed up. Once they damaged my driver side doors and scarred a wheel & didn’t tell me. Thankfully, I caught it before I left. You are right about the surveys. I once submitted a three page critique of the terrible experiences I had had & never heard anything. I believe every company makes good trucks but unfortunately some just have problems. If the dealerships and the manufacturer stuck by their products and did everything possible to make things right it would make situations like this easier to handle. I wouldn’t close the book on RAM. They are great vehicles. But I certainly hope you are compensated for all your troubles. Good luck!

After watching your video it brought a memory of a n experience I have with Dodge. I had an almost brand new Dodge Neon and I drove it from upstate NY to Durham, NC. That was about 750 miles each way. On the way down to Durham the transmission started to refuse to shift gears. When I got to Durham I called Chrysler because I couldn't get a dealer to fix the car for my return trip home. Chrysler Customer Care finally got a dealer to look at the car. Chrysler Customer Care suggested that I return home and then come back to Durham when the car was fixed. I told Customer Service that once I left for home it would be six months before I returned. Finally I told them I would attempt to drive the car home and if the transmission burned it was on them. It took five days for the dealer to even look at the car. They made a temporary so I could get home. That was the last Chrysler I ever bought. Granted five days is nothing like 7 or 8 weeks, but I guess it shows that not a lot has changed since them. Did I get compensation? Nope, not one dime.

I bought a new 21 F350 diesel dually in January of 21 before the prices took off and increased significantly to the ridiculous level they're at today. I bought the basic XL with an STX appearance package as a truck platform I could add upgrades to. I use it to pull a heavy 5th wheel RV. Not a single problem with it. I've added numerous upgrades to make it perfect for me, but it doesn't have all the crap features I never use, like sunroofs, moonroofs, sliding rear windows, a massive computer screen, etc. $58K delivered to my house, and they picked up my trade-in at the same time. No six figure or $90K trucks for me ever.

Let me get this straight, the hose blew off of the Thermostat end. When you first put the coolant in when the light came on, did you open up the vent that should be on the passenger side of the vechile right beside your CCV Filter Housing If you dont take the allen head screw completely out before you add any coolant it will trap air. I have one of the first 6.7 in my area it's an 07.5 6.7 2500 4x4 with 1 ton axles under it, I bought it new with 26mi on it and now have 287,432mi. Now back to the vent, you have to remove the allen screw at least thats what I have. Once the vent screw is removed and your on somewhat level surface pour the coolant into the radiator until coolant starts to come out the vent, put thr screw back in an snug it then start the truck up letting it idle, either run your heater or air conditioner also then rev the engine for a minute or two. Shut truck off make sure your radiator cap is cooled off enough to remove, check fluid level if it's still low take the vent screw out and repeat, if the system gets enough air in it and you don't get it out the pressure will build up enough to pop a hose or worse bust the radiator.

Dealerships don't hire people to serve, they just fill a position. My brand new ram popped a rear shock so I made an appointment for a replacement. They took it back and a few hours later they told me there was no trouble codes found. I couldn't believe how dumb the technician was. So I replaced the shocks myself. The mechanics at Ford and ram Dealerships are hired from the local lube joints..they watch videos on how to work on specific parts..so most likely you will know more than a Dealership Mechanic. I had a transmission replaced by Ford and they added coolant instead of trans fluid, they replaced everything involved with the transmission and also the transmission again at no charge.

Only good thing is every time this piece of junk broke down ram rented me a new 3/4 ton ford from enterprise. The last straw was when it broke down while traveling on the other side of the country pulling a camper with my kids. Emissions problem under warranty and nobody from ram would help nor a dealer. Only option was to delete it void warranty and get back on the road. Learned my lesson with this one. I’ll never own another.

Well, we bought a new 2018 Ram 3500 with the HO/Asin, we got the AEV lift installed and everything was great, just fabulous. Then at around 26k or somewhere around there, we got a recall for the Drag Link. Take it in, they did something to it, then on the way home (we lived in Havasu at the time and had the work done in Phoenix) I said to my wife, this thing feels really weird like it is on ice or something (it was June, I think). Get home I put my motorcycle carrier on the back, throw my 701 on it and head towards Paige to do some off road loops in Utah on the bike. At Flagstaff I pull off the freeway and start heading north and it turns really strange one time. Call my wife and tell her I am going to stop and make myself some lunch and just look at what is going on, I turn onto this dirt road, hit one bump and BAM I am in the ditch cause the drag link has broken off.
They tell me it was a bad install (Ram) AEV says it was a bad install (had it done at a shop that has done tons of work for us, never ever had issues). I'm like, well OK crap happens but why is this thing doing this, it was fine for 30k miles and it always feels a wee bit weird. We pay it off, and in August of 2021 it does it again, everyone at AEV and Ram says "where you rock crawling?" No, I was turning right out of the gym...
I have talked to a few people who have had some of the same sort of stories, where the drag link completely broke off of stock trucks. What a monumental waste of funds, such a pile of utter shit.

This is hardly a brand issue. If you look at hard statistics, the Big 3 are all floating in the same boat. Since we make very little of anything in the USA, at best vehicles are assembled in plants here from parts made at the low buck corners of the world. Moreover, there's a real lack of technical talent across all technical industries and we are all stuck making do, and customer service is dwindling because we have turned everything into commodity and want the lower price and fastest delivery. There's a simple universal concept wherein everything can be evaluated by a triangle with time, cost and quality each being a side of the triangle. Only two connect at a point leaving the third opposite and unattainable. Choose the two you want and be ok with the impact on the third.
You ended up with air entering your cooling system. This happens from a failure of your EGR COOLER. Simple heat exchanger. Can one be manufactured with a defect? Absolutely. Do you know all diesel engines, does not matter brand or origin, all have the highest content of residual casting sand when assembled? Know it is one of the largest reasons heater cores, water pumps, radiators, and you guessed it, EGR coolers that do not work properly or fail on diesel trucks with low mileage. However, one of the biggest reasons EGR coolers fail is due to high stress when not seasoned through heat cycling. You took a brand new truck, ignoring the recommendations of the owner's manual, which are not based on voodoo, BS, CYA, or however someone chooses to dismiss, but upon sound engineering and understanding of the properties of different metals and materials, and ran it at peak demand for a sustained period. Given the heat generated as a result with the turbo working hard, I'd say chances are you cracked the EGR cooler with your choice of how to run the truck.
A business owner, especially one based in transport, should understand care of the trucks is directly related to bottom line, and also should have redundancy or a plan for when a truck goes out of service because one cannot predict a sudden failure, accident, etc. If you visit ANY MDT or HDT repair facility right now, you will find them all with many trucks sitting and waiting on parts. I'm not talking a handful, but a dozen at least to more! There are owner-operators who have been out of work more than a year because parts cannot be sourced in these times...
Your frustration is real, but your no special case and seemingly better off than the owner-operator who has only one truck. So, I'm sorry, your video comes across as a whining rant of the entitled, who are actually responsible for causing this modern day world, and now don't like it.

Check if rental is covered by manufacturer warranty don't remember to be honest, when my truck died they offered me 2500 and it did the job but my truck was up and running in less than 2 weeks. EGR can fail at any given time without a warning i know someone have those 2021 models with bad EGR and his truck runs 300k miles now while others keep on failing. Could be manufacturing error Mopar just puts parts together they don't manufacture it the parts. Not blaming Mopar or favorite them just saying from experience
