Though not as graphically powerful as the PSP, the DS is a really cool piece of handheld gaming. It honestly changed the game industry forever in a great way.
Did it, though? I mean it certainly altered Nintendo's handheld line-up for... like one more generation of handhelds, but that's about it. The rest of the industry never followed suit with dual-screen gaming and the last handheld competitor to try touchscreen gaming, the Vita, was a massive failure in the west and never got a successor.

Nintendogs, specifically, was a hit that took Nintendo out of the realm of competition with Sony and Microsoft. Brain Training as well. When they said they were in different markets, they meant it.
I've never sucked that bad at Mystery Dungeon, so I didn't know about that little interaction with Wigglytuff. Chatot assuming that Wigglytuff was going to be mad and then Wigglytuff being wholesome is totally in line with what I've come to expect from them, though.
I recently got a refurbished 50 dollar 2DS from Nintendo, immediately put custom firmware on it and have been going to town ever since. The library is massive and it's still worth getting any of the DS systems today, especially a 3DS.
Another strange thing about Sonic Classic Collection is that the collision in Sonic 3 is weird. This is most noticeable in Ice Cap Zone Act 1. One of the areas where you drop down after encountering an icy Orbitron Badnik has you fall completely through the ground and die if you're on the right side of the chasm when you land on the ground, which you're supposed to land and slide on.
I really wish we had gotten an original 3D Mario for the DS. 64 DS showed that the DS could handle what was at the time, an 8 year old game from the last generation of consoles, it would've been interesting to see an new 3D Mario game made with the DS in mind.

Honestly, the issue with any Genesis/Mega Drive game's sound being off in emulation seems so nitpicky to me. Sonic GBA was terrible, but the DS collection is nearly perfect.

If your horror game has a combat focus and asks you to kill the big monsters it's more action horror than survival horror. Survival horror would imply that you're primary focus is avoiding the monsters... I'm thinking the opening of evil within which was awesome compared to the rest of the game which was more action than survival....
I miss my DS Lite so much it was the first game console I ever had. I had pokemon ranger, Mario Kart DS, and Mario 64 DS. I have such a level of nostalgia for these games it hurts.
