It worked!! I went to use my mats and they were so un-sticky, it was ridiculous. Ran to Michael's and got the spray. My mats work again. Thanks!
I have seen several similar videos and kept thinking "they should be masking the edges". You were the first one to do this EXTREMELY important step! I just found your channel and am so glad I did. Keep up the excellent work!
I love think out louds! Yours was right on the money!
Brilliant! Also the most entertaining tutorial I’ve watched about resticking my mats
Thank you! I've bought 6 new mats in the 2 months I've had my maker. I'm an obsessive crafter, ADHD, I cannot sit still so if I'm sitting, I'm crafting. Crafting while I'm teaching my kids, crafting while I'm watching a show, designing while I'm eating lol. I wash my mats but because I use them soo much I'm using up the stick. Replacing the tackiness is going to save my husband a lot of money:)
I love this! I can't wait to try it. I have 3 mats in need of fresh sticky so I'm going to give this a try.
ZIG 2-Way Glue with the jumbo tip! WAY better than the spray.
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I have never tried the dish soap method to remove adhesive, but will now. I have used the spray for years and really like it. I let them air dry in garage.
I’ve been trying to figure out how to reuse my mat, I will try to give this a try. Thank you!
I just cleaned my matts yesterday and sprayed them this morning. I hope I didn’t over spray. I used the same spray adhesive as shown in your video, it started clogging while spraying the 2nd matt. We’ll see how it goes. I enjoyed your video 👍
I just tried it and it works. I didn't wait 10 minutes because the first coat I used wasn't sticky enough. I couldn't find the Krylon easy-tak so I used another brand. That may be the cause. Anyways I just dired each coat with my blowdryer using the non-heat setting :). Thank you for your video.
I've never washed my mats, but i do use that same spray adhesive when they're not sticky anymore! I never get to use the whole thing though because my top aways stops spraying first because it gets clogged before I get to use the whole thing!
Awesomeness! Thank you for sharing! God bless! Love hugs and prayers! 😇💜🤗🙏
OMG! Hey girl!!! Gotta pass this on to a Facebook Group dedicated to the new Joy which I got at launch. You know I'm a Cameo gal. So, design space has me crazy. But there a ladies completely new to electronic cutting machines. And they are cutting out cards like crazy. I didn't buy it for card making. But it fits well in my tiny crafts corner😐😐😐.
Anyway, I'm gonna share yours now. TU. You always do a great job in teaching.
Grateful and impressed at all the extra tips you put out while you're demonstrating (I'm new-ish)... thank you! (I subscribed and I've also stepped on my stuff 😉)
Wow! FABULOUS! Thanks!💜
Im new to the cricut world so happy I got it thanks for the info on how to make it sticky again im hoping is going to work!!
Awesome tips!! Thanks so much 🌷💗
Thanks for this info--too funny about the foot print.
I'd love a video on how you clean the rollers on your silhouette machine though! Mine are a little gunky. I've never taped off the sides of the mat haha
Hi I was looking for an video that shows this exact problem thank you so much!!
Awesome, I'm going to try this, thank you!
Thank you for the tips!
oh thank you!!!! I have about 10 mats and all but one was NOT usable. I am going to get this stuff.
They look brand new 😍
Awesome. Thank you for sharing this technique. How often do you find you need to do this with your mats?
Awesome video, thank you.
Thank you for this. I have 2 mats that aren’t sticky and was about to order a new one. I will be looking for that krylon today. And do you know if I can use those mats from amazon for my brother scanncut?
Do you have any tips for different stickiness levels? For example if you need to restick a light grip mat vs a strong gripper.
Great job. Thanks
Is this good for only the standard grip? Or would u add more for a strong grip mat?
Thank you
The last person I viewed for restecting the mat really needed to look at your channel
I think I'm going to link you video to teach him better
However though it is faster and easier, not so wet, to clean your mat with windex
I love your personality!! Just subscribe to your channel. 👍🏻
Great idea
Thank you thank you thank you!!!! I had trouble with my mat not sticking today and now I can buy the 3 pack on Amazon. It is true the Silhouette mats do not last. How do I change the settings on Silhouette Cameo for the mats?
Thanks for sharing.
I use a sponge without the scrub side. Mats are not sticky when wet. After they dry, they are sticky again. It might get to the point I have to retack it. I also use a lint roller before I wash it. It picks up so much off of the mat!
Brilliant tip
I'm going to try this spray on my 3D printer's print bed. Thank you for the video.
That's a great idea, thank you!
Heyyy thank you so much for the tutorial! But I'm curious, how many times can you replenish the matt with one can of Krylon Easy-Tack spray?
Thanks your video helps a lot ☺️
I'm so glad!
Great tip!
what is the wait time after you spray the adhesive? The other RUclipsr says 1 hour but it doesn't feel sticky and dried out seems like it. This one says 10 minutes. Which is the best-recommended wait time before use?
Bought some of the spray today.
Thanks for this will do this.
Thank you!
Awesome thank you!
It’s so satisfying watching those suds ;)
Hello, could you tell me what settings you use to use these mats with the silhouette?
great video thanks!
Wow I just threw away three old mats.😟 thanks for sharing 😍
thank you so much
you should do video on how to redo your setting for a cricut mat
I know I am a couple years behind, but thank you for this very well produced and informative video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing, also my washi tape isn't sticky either. I love painters tape! haha
Thank you
good tip
💙
How often do you re stick your mat?
Thank you so much! Krylon Easy Tack Repositionable, After checking out your other videos, I'd be a fool not to subscribe. 😎
You're so cute and easy to watch. Appreciate the tips and tricks.
Awesome cleaner from the Dollar Tree is what I use.
This will roughn ur mat
liked it
Thank you Timika!! Good info Tfs ❤️
Can we get easy tac in Australia please
Would any repositioning adhesive spray work? Or does it have to be the Easy Tack?
Any could work 🙃
You don't find that spray adhesive makes your blade stick to your paper and rip your paper? I used to use spray adhesive and it ripped all my material so I now use either zig or aleenes tack it
Not at all.. in fact I just bought another bottle and hauled it in yesterday’s video. Just one layer should do it. Let it air dry for 5-10 min and you’re good to go. Try getting a new blade, checking your material settings or cut slower for the ripped paper. 😉
Does the glue come off on to what ever you are cutting?? I got a nicapa mat and the glue is coming off on everything. I was thinking about using your technique to restick it after getting the glue off of it.
It doesnt come off the paper. :)
quick question.....you say reposition and make sure to use that now the question is would any adhesive work say you could not find the reposition one?
If you use any adhesive - they may just make everything stick permanently. Find the 'reposition' word on the bottle of any brand and you should be okay ;)
Does the glue stick onto the project once you take it off the mat?
TheGlamshoppe if you let it dry and you do know even coat - there is no problem. If you start going crazy - then yes some residue will happen on your first/ second cuts. If you are worried - do a couple cuts to be sure on scrap paper. ❤️
I have so many old mats that I just dry have hanging around so I most definitely will be trying this. It would save me so much money! Thanks for sharing!!
I don't understand what I'm doing wrong!! I've watched so many videos like this. When I apply a spray adhesive, it ends up completely drying instead of leaving my mat sticky. I even have that exact same adhesive spray.
Oh no!! Try not to srpay close - give yourself some inches between the can and the mat. Try to move around on the mat only spraying ONE layer. Dont over spray. Just one coat. Let air dry for about 10 minutes, it should be tacky to the touch not COMPLETLY sticky - like everything will be stuck to it. LEt me know. Good Luck! Tmika

I had the same issue..didn't work for ne
I also tried this as well with the same exact spray and that same NICAPA mat and cricut mat too. So annoyed that it didn’t work. Was so eager to try a cheaper fast way to do it?
Maybe I have a bad can, no ball when shaking the can, but the Krylon Easy-Tack repositionable isn't sticky at all. Any idea? 4 mats ruined! UGH!!
Oh you definitely had a bad can! I would wash those mats with dawn dish washing liquid and a light scrubber and buy a new can. Make sure it has the ball. Let me know if I can help. TFW!
How do you stop those spray nozzles clogging up after one use?
Wipe immediately after spraying and keep the cap on😉😉
I use goo gone spray. Its meant for glue removing.
Do you use it to clean or for the sticky? I have some under my sink and never thought to use it. Thanks. From lisa
lisa gilbert I use it to clean. I find its a great product.
@@shirleydesrochers4947 do you use this same spray adhesive?
Other ppl say wait hours for it to dry. Does it really dry in like 10 minutes for you?
Just tried. thank you very much. This helped saved me a lot of money
Here is the issue with using this spray adhesive.... Next time you have to strip and re-tack your map you will have to use something like Lacquer Thinner to get it off
That is incorrect actually. I just use a little bit of dishwashing liquid and a regular scrubbing pad. Comes off in minutes. I let it air dry and I respray.
@@scrapdaworld I am glad to hear that casue I just coated with a spray Adhesive
@@scrapdaworld I did notice thought when I got all of the original Silhouette sticky off with GOO GONE there were cuts through the thin plastic layer under the sticky and between the Mat board and some of that came off so there are a few spot that are low.
Has anyone used the Gorilla Heavy Duty Spray Adhesive, Multipurpose and Repositionable, 14 Ounce, Clear? I can't find the Krylon. It's not even available on Amazon.
Any reposition spray should work. Try hobby lobby, Michael’s online. I’ve also tried this: amzn.to/3HDTk4b
Steer clear of “ temporary” reposition like gorilla glue. Meaning it’s slow to dry but eventually dries permanent.
I bought the same thing you used in this video and it didn't work at all. I wasted $14 on the spray.
Don't waste your money it doesn't get sticky at all it doesn't even stick to the plastic protector
Use a blow dryer don't use a paper towel on a mat it literally covers it in fibers
They must have changed the ingredients because it didn't work for me.
This method didn't work for my mats
I made this and I ruined my mats. It doesn work at all
How did they got ruined?
That's not a bottle. It's a can or canister definitely not bottle.
Thank you!
