I co wash during the summer as well but I use shampoo every two weeks! We have simular hair routines even though my hair is more 4c/4z! I just cut my hair from hip length to tailbone length. 🎉😊 Also, I love your channel and the content! I'd like to see your updated routine as well.

I used to do this years ago in the summertime because I have hyperhydrosis and I sweat a lot but I was a day shower girly so I would cowash my hair, define it with the water and then smooth it with oil in my hair was so shiny, silky and pretty so I can see how this routine definitely works for me personally in the summertime

I co washed for like two years, did twists out and low manipulation hairstyles… grew my hair from above my shoulders to mid back. Got my hair cut at the beginning and then again on it’s anniversary. I might do that again to grow it back out. I did a big chop 😬 don’t ask me why I did it. I guess, YOLO?? 😂
I’m so glad you mentioned clarifying with a shampoo because there is no way that I could just cowash all of the time but yes washing more often with conditioner in between is great.

We've have always called co-wash "creme rinse" when I first heard someone saying "co-wash" I was like what's that? Oh ok you mean "creme rinse" lol🤔🤣
Can I ask, when you do the twist, how do you dry your hair before you go to sleep? I tried this, I would co wash and put in two French braids before bed, but my hair would still be sort of wet when I laid down. It would also break me out because the products would get on my pillow case. I really like doing this, but I need to find a way to have my hair mostly dry before I lay down ❤
What color dye if any do you use?
I must say that I do this to my hair and it’s 💯 percent effective. But I co wash with the baggie method. I add conditioner and water an hour before my shower then I shower. Hang upside down and detangle as I’m washing conditioner out. Then I put it in a high bun get out shower then add my oils wrap and goodnight. I wear wigs in the day time so I never take braids out lol
my lo po hair could never! On average, it takes my hair 2 days two dry. I'm positive if it was in two braids or twists it would take even longer than that.
That’s crazy I’m low porosity and my hair dries fast. Low porosity hair usually repel water.
@Maryamjhampton Low porosity dries slower because once the water manages to enter the cuticles, it's slow to leave since the cuticles are so tight.
However high porosity cuticles are always open so the water leaves quicker, so the hair dries quicker.
What kind of hairstyles did you use while growing your hair?
I did a lot of protective styles like braids and ponytails etc..
This may work for some. Im 4b 4c and I have four children this method isn't practical for me. I found that using my Clay treatment and deep conditionig with sheabutter and heat has got me from bra strap length to waistlength
Definitely not practical for everyone!
What kind of clay do you use? Is this done daily, weekly?
