Euphonium music at it's finest. Played this song when I was 14... And I can still remember every single note like it was yesterday. I'm 33. Talk about an all time great timeless piece. Holst music lives on for ever.
Dr. Something ....should not need music to conduct. March tempo is far too slow ...tubas are like a bunch of slugs. She's the conductor and doing a very poor job of getting the tempo going.
Sounds like half of this ensemble learned the March at the American cadence of 120 and the other half learned it at the British cadence of 108 BPM. Dr. Strauss did a great job of finding a compromise.
I would have to disagree. She's a DR. She's supposed to know HOW to get this band ....ANY band ....GOING. The tubas controlled the tempo ......she followed them. I wonder why a "Dr." needed music???????

What a marvellous conductor. As drum major in high school, I had the privilege of conducting this in rehearsal. What an experience!

@@taxicamel Well, the tubas had the right tempo for a British march, which this is. Most 'muricans play it too darn fast.
