    Well I see the Colonel from the President's Own has found a new home. I always like the way he interprets Holst and Grainger, Sousa, too. . I don't what his new title is But I wish him all the best taking the Michigan Symphonic Band to new heights in their performances.

    The clarinet solo in movement 2 was played so well

    Very nice solo playing. Especially the euphonium in the first mvmt. Beautiful tone and phrasing.

    Great sounding! Im curious. Is this an ensemble with the intent to have only one per part? It seems sparse. Just curious :D

      He is the formal director of the President’ own, US marine band.

      Fennell recorded this with only one on a part, both at Eastman and again with Cleveland.

      No one has answered your question but it's one on a part because when Holst wrote this for military bands, they were one on a part back in the day. The band is much bigger but they are playing this piece with the idea Holst had in mind when writing it.
