Jimmy Vaughan is 4 years older. They have uncle's that are musical. There was a drum set always in the house too. So of course Stevie plays drums too. He taught Chris Layton Double Trouble drummer a lot of different beats. Stevie tried to play sax but didn't stay with it. Jimmy's band is the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Check out Tuff Enough. You'll find some that Stevie plays with them. Family Style is the album the Vaughan brothers did together. It released just after Stevie died.
Sue Creswell There’s a Tuff Enuff version by the Fabulous Thunderbirds in New Orleans in which Stevie is playing a six string bass guitar-cool song. Jimmie was considered one of best guitarists in Texas at one time
You should do a reaction of "Six Strings Down" sung by Jimmy Vaughan. It's a tribute song to Stevie, written by Robert Cray, and has Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Jimmy Vaughan playing on the song. The concert in Alpine Valley Wisconsin that Stevie was playing the night he was killed, was an Eric Clapton concert, and Jimmy Vaughan, Robert Cray and Stevie were also playing that night. So it's a very personal song for all of 'em. Not to mention that it's a great song.
BTW....They played so well together that yes they did mess around and occasionally reach over and strum or run the frets on each others guitars. Can't even imagine where they would be had Stevie survived
At first, SRV was playing the lower one, and Jimmie the higher... then they switched partway through. Both brothers. *immensely* talented... but SRV had that extra something-special.
Two guitar legends and brothers is SENSATIONAL strumming on same guitar..WHAT? Perfection at its greatest time ..Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmy Lee Vaughan..love watching these guys..
Jimmy is the elder, and the mentor of Stevie. He played in the Fabulous Thunderbirds, an excellent guitarist in his own right, but not anything like Stevie. Lots of love and talent in that family. Stevie was a great performer and entertainer. Playing the double neck guitar as Jimmie did with Stevie is not easy, very physically taxing and even uncomfortable.
Cute parakeet. My cockatiel does that too! Jimmy is great bro. He's a less raw version of Stevie. Before Stevie was Stevie Jimmy Vaughan was the popular one who made the big scene. They are both separate artists and successful ones at that in their own right. Jimmy was Stevie's first guitar hero.
I have seen SRV in concert twice & he was off the rails both times. Also saw Jimmy Vaughn with the legendary, Muddy Waters at Antoine’s in Austin. I was only in my 20s, but was completely blown away by the “old Black man” that was with him. My friend tells me he knew & did heroin with SRV in Dallas. Said he was like an idiot savant that knew nothing except music. Stevie’s primary musical influence was Jimi Hendrix. Loved them both (got “Electric Ladyland” LP for my 14th B-Day). RIP Jimi & Stevie. 😢❣️
@Harry Browneigh Ha, ha, reckon I won't argue, been in some some pretty good bands (years ago) up in Columbus Ohio, no where near the T-Birds level, just had some fun
You have reacted to the Presidential Concert Stevie Ray did several songs in, the man in the gold jacket standing next to him was his brother Jimmi Lee Vaughan.
There is a documentary out there somewhere about Stevie that explains the family dynamic. Jimmy is older and originally the popular of the two. Stevie was just the kid brother growing up in the shadow of an older brother. Jimmy moved to Austin first and started playing. Stevie followed later. Jimmy was hell bent on playing blues at a time when blues was not what people were listening too. Stevie started playing with generally older players and began to develop a following. the rest they say is history. R
Good morning Pat! You should watch some interviews with Stevie. It was a dream for them to get to make an album together before he was taken from us. I love your joy for Stevie and your precious Blue❤ he makes me laugh😊 Have a great weekend, many blessings💞
Jimmie is the eldest brother. They did come from a musical family. I'm from the Dallas Texas area. We are very proud of the Vaughan brothers. I love to see people discover them. Your reaction video was great!
Hi Lowell! If you like this then you just have to watch this one. 2 Songs by Merle Travis. This is in the country realm but you'll really enjoy it I'm sure. Thanks for your reactions.
Check out TikTock people..you won’t get Jimmie’s shredding but it’s their collaboration that was released after Stevie’s death...playing it would pay tribute before you start on your Jimmie journey...I know you’re going down that path now and I can’t wait...those Vaughn boys, yes, the best.
Jimmy Vaughan had his own band called the fabulous thunderbirs, one hit they had was "tough enough" - Jimmy also plays with stevie on stage in his shows with double trouble.
So about two years ago my brother and I went to see john Meyer (mayer? Can never remember the spelling) in concert and towards the end the cheeky bastard brought Jimmy vaughn onstage and it was the closest I've ever been to seeing Jimmy and Stevie play together cause stevie died before I was born.
Not sure if you have watched the vid of him playing at Clinton's inauguration, but his bother is playing that set with him. Also, his brother had a band called the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Never a big fan of his brothers music, but he seems like a nice enough fella.
Thanx man...now I have to try to stuff my brain back into my head! SRV was the best and Jimmy opened for him with The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Awesome guitarist in his own right. Get a chance, watch the guitar sit-ins videos, all the greats on one stage. They always had to keep SRV on a leash or he would just overpower everyone else. Favorite was seeing B.B. look off stage with that look....shit, Stevie's here....should we make him play last again?
Jimmie Lawrence Vaughan was three years older than Stephen Ray Vaughan. Yes, Jimmie picked up the guitar first and Stevie watched Jimmie learn and picked up the guitar, too. Stevie always idolized his big brother his whole life. Jimmie was gutted when Stevie's helicopter went down in 1990. And yes, Martha Vaughan (their Mama) was VERY proud. There's a RUclips video of Jimmie accepting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame award on behalf of his brother that'll tell you a lot: ruclips.net/video/91pDpikSpiU/видео.html
Jimmy is the older brother Stevie learned guitar from him...omg!! Never seen anything like this..probably.never again...now what's the next wowzer for you to show us?? Freaking amazing Jim.looking over his shoulder playing. No.wonder Jimmy did not do the out of the box playi get like Stevie. But he want looking over jimmis shoulder either....see if you can find Jimmy solo... . ...
Jimmy is the guitarist for The Fabulous Thunderbirds. SRV said Jimmy was a better soloist. I disagree, but I'm not arguing guitarists with SRV. The last album SRV recorded was Family Style with Jimmy as The Vaughn Brothers.
Jimmy Vaughan's band....Fabulous Thunder Birds: "Wait On Time", check it out. (sunsetz777 has a good video on RUclips ) also check them out at Farm Aid 1986 playing "The Crawl" And if you wanna see them both playing together Watch "Stevie Ray Vaughan and The Fabulous Thunder Birds "What I Say"
Jimmy sometimes shared the stage. You reacted to SRV in Texas, at a Bush innaugeration. It's the 26 minute four song video where they wore tuxedos, except for the Gold jacket Jimmy wore. Looked like he bought it at a Graceland Garage Sale. Also try SRV's induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame(SRV R&R HOF.) '
Even after Stevie Ray and his brother Jimmie reached stardom their mother worked in a sandwich shop part time. There is a video of her with Stevie standing by and she is showing how to make a specialty sandwich
Jimmie is the oldest then Stevie then me then Cheyenne. ❤❤ We all pick. Stevie taught me everything I know. He said I was as good as him. No my parents didn't play nothin'. But we always had pickers that ca.e to play Texas 45 its a game of Dominos. They where all country singers well known. Especially in Texas. ❤❤
Jimmy is the older one and is great in his own rights and had a band which played back in Hendrix time!! Jimmy loved his brother very much! they made an album right before he died in 1990 AUGUST 27TH!! The album is called family style check it out, song i believe is telephone something? thanks, my friend GBY
Sometimes I feel bad for Jimmy bc he doesn't get the recognition he deserves and when Stevie gets out there he makes Jimmy look like a beginner I just feel bad for him
My favorite SRV video. It might have been me who told you that you should watch this video. Anyone who does an SRV reaction I tell them about this video
Just sayin' Austin was a righteous place to be in the 70s and early 80s. Nothing like it was now. The push to structure the music, killed the music. Before Antone's moved the first time. Before Soap Creek moved the first time. Damn good memories.
@@eraycer6860 WRONG!!! Of course it was Jimmy who wrote “Alpine Valley in the middle of the night “ Stevies helicopter crashed there. The Isleys??? Where did ya get that????
They were so close, loved each other so much. Stevie idolized his brother above all other artists.
Jimmy Vaughan is 4 years older. They have uncle's that are musical. There was a drum set always in the house too. So of course Stevie plays drums too. He taught Chris Layton Double Trouble drummer a lot of different beats. Stevie tried to play sax but didn't stay with it.

Excellent tribute to Stevie
Damn...brought tears to my eyes. Stevie loved and respected his big brother so much.
Jimmy is the oldest, and I had the great pleasure of being at this concert. No one in that crowd could believe what we were seeing & hearing.
BTW....They played so well together that yes they did mess around and occasionally reach over and strum or run the frets on each others guitars. Can't even imagine where they would be had Stevie survived
Jimmy (oldest) taught Stevie to play. Jimmy always said Stevie learned and surpassed him.
How amazing...how touching...so sorry these two brothers aren't together anymore. What a fun treat this was!😳🙌👏👏👏
At first, SRV was playing the lower one, and Jimmie the higher... then they switched partway through.
Both brothers. *immensely* talented... but SRV had that extra something-special.
Jimmy couldn't even see after the switch. Masters, both.
Your reaction is priceless! Like you said, I would have loved to spent a holiday at the Vaughan household.
Brothers who loved each other and thats priceless....as well as super talented!
Two guitar legends and brothers is SENSATIONAL strumming on same guitar..WHAT? Perfection at its greatest time ..Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmy Lee Vaughan..love watching these guys..
Awesome vid! I’ve seen almost every SRV vid but hadn’t seen this one. Amazing!
Yep! Brother, you have struck a gold mine! I really enjoy your reactions!
Sorry for my little comments, i'm italian,my english is not good,i like your channel,i love good music, thank you

Wonderful video. Thank you for your reaction. It's make my day.
In one of Stevie's interviews shortly before his death, he said he and Jimmy were going to finally do an album together.
Had the privileged to see them do this live
Finally someone reacting to this guitar jam
Texas Boy's....NUFF SAID
MTV UNPLUGGED for Stevie!!
Jimmie Vaughan is 3 years older than Stevie. Jimmies band is The Fabulous Thunderbirds...check out " Tuff Enuff "
Jimmy plays for the fabulous thunderbirds, they are very good.
Awesome reaction as always mate. Yeah so Jimmy pretty much taught Stevie everything they were super close.
Can't believe you don't know Jimmy Vaughn? He's leader of The Fabulous Thunderbirds!
@Harry Browneigh Correct,,ha, Kim Wilson was born on the same day I was, Jan 6, 1951
@Harry Browneigh Ha, ha, reckon I won't argue, been in some some pretty good bands (years ago) up in Columbus Ohio, no where near the T-Birds level, just had some fun
No he isn't.

Their brothers Stevie would take jimmies guitar when he wasn't there and get some Vaughn brothers album
What you are watching is what I call 'FM'. Great reaction to the Vaughan brothers.

Brilliance was genetic with them. Jimmie was the older brother. They obviously loved another so much.
Stevie and Jimmy, the Vaughan brothers -- 'nuff said.

I first saw the Mandrell Sisters do this on their TV program circa 1982. The guys are amazing.
That is the most awesome thing ever.
Jimmy is the guitarist for The Fabulous Thunderbirds. SRV said Jimmy was a better soloist. I disagree, but I'm not arguing guitarists with SRV.

What should check out is Dick Dale and SRV Playing Pipeline also See SRV Jimmy Vaughan Santana playing together
Jimmy was more classic blues riffs, and Stevie, well Stevie was Stevie Ray...
Yeah, Stevie was a whole genre on his own!
your bird just casually watching along with you ❤ love the vids man 👍
May I suggest SRV and Dick Dale doing "Pipeline".
This is just one reason it is great to be from TEXAS
Jimmy Vaughn is part of “The Fabulous Thunderbirds.” (“Ain’t That Tough Enough?”).
Tuff Enuff .... Great song.
A group called Walk Off The Earth has a cool video. Search their name with 5 people play one guitar. They are awesome !
You should check out Jimmie's stuff. He's up for a Grammy this year.
I wish Jimmy would play like this solo. His style is different from playing solo.
No disrespect towards Jimmy, but Stevie stands head and shoulders above his older brother.
Jimmy can't see the strings on the guitar with his face in Stevie's back.
Your bird is so cute!
Stevie ray vaughan give me back my wig please.
i actually saw them do this in Bloomington Indiana USA
Please react to the Daytona Beach "Boogie with Stevie" version of 'I Ain't Gonna Give Up On Love' if you have time to squeeze it in sometime...

Jimmie Vaughan is the real deal, doesn't get the credit he deserves.
Jimmy wrote a song about Stevie’s tragic death, damn good song” Six Strings Down”
Jimmy didn't write the song. It was written by one of the Isley brothers. Not sure which one
@@eraycer6860 WRONG!!! Of course it was Jimmy who wrote “Alpine Valley in the middle of the night “ Stevies helicopter crashed there. The Isleys??? Where did ya get that????
Stevie VR was inspired to play the guitar by watching his older brother Jimmy play it.
You missed the switchover. As for Jimmy, and the Fabulous Thunderbirds.
Lone Star State Forever!!!
Stevie is more Dynamic but Jimi is really accomplished blues guitar player in his own right. Check out Jimi with fabulous Thunderbirds.
Knew you would love it
Check SRV at innaugeration. Jimmy is in the gold jacket. Excuse my spelling.
Coal train with srv Jimmy and Carlos Santana in Costa Mesa Stevie gets down on the double
Unfortunately, Jimmy and Stevie's father had struggles with alcohol. Stevie mentioned in some of his interviews that they suffered child abuse.
Two peas in a pod brother.
Could you do a reaction on Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4" at Tanglewood? Thanks!
Jimmy is older and played with the fabulous thunderbirds
Jimmy is the older brother.
