I've now made it my life's mission to play dnd with Nathan Fillon
He can sit at our table anytime, I even have a spare set of dice waiting for him.
Flula Borg Attempting to kill himself to leave "no witnesses" is an incredible priceless piece of goblinnes!
Fillion was really excited to play and Rooker was hungry for some combat. I see great RPG hopes for both of them, but perhaps in separate campaigns. Now how do we get Fillion to guest star on Critical Role or any other D&D show?

I've ALWAYS loved this guy! Everything he comes up with is fun and hilarious!
That was a true representation of what a really good DM and a really good session can be. The three most core principles of D&D are: have fun, play the character you have developed, and adapt to the unpredictable. These are the types of games I used to really enjoy DMing, where you had people that actually made their characters their own and didn't necessarily follow the standard path set before them. It proves there is no 1 way to play and that no matter who you are, you can get enjoyment out of the experience if you let it. Kudos to everyone for showing just how much it can bring different people and styles together for a good time.

Now I wonder whether Michael Rooker would be interested in playing a real D&D session.
I loved 1) Rooker's reaction to hearing what they were doing, and 2) Riley's twist on Lost Mines of Phandelver.
The reversal of roles on Lost Mines was pretty nifty. I imagine many adventures could be twisted in a similar vein to great effect. Reminds me a bit of Critical Role’s take on Lord of the Rings and Doom game adaptations, players as the usual “enemy characters.”

Any D&D game you get to play with Michael Rooker is going to be amazing, memorable, and go completely off the f***ing rails. I would 10/10 game with him!
Oh gosh, I watched just for Nathan, his facial expressions were fantastic throughout, they told the story of a man desperately trying to reel in his team mates, and then realising there was absolutely no hope of that :D
I guess there'll have to be a new class for D&D edition 6 "Robe" :D

Right there with you, watched for Nathan. It's so funny watching him trying to stay on track with his teammates who have no idea about D&D whatsoever! Hats off to Riley, for keeping the story moving, rolling high for everyone :P, and making things fun for everyone--including us who are watching!

D&D got sued by Politicians who had Thief, Thieves, and Thieves Guild all trademarked, that's why they had to go with Rogue....lol

Flula Borg played it so straight-faced I couldn't always tell if he really kept misunderstanding what they said, but it was funny.

Riley is the definitive savior for the event. Nathon did a great job helping rope up the crew as well. What a great example of a dynamic GM! I never heard of him before and he is absolutely brilliant

Yes Riley gave them pre-gen's as they're n00bs playing a 1shot, not a whole campaign. What's new about that?! As it was Flula created his own subclass (😂 Rogue Robe 😂) anyway!

Not to mention that the Last Witch Hunter and Critical Role debuted in 2015. The cross promotion D&Diesel led to the creation of CelebriD&D.

Michael Rooker would love to play this game on the regular. Fillion looks very uncomfortable, which I also enjoy.

I kinda wish the guys were making their own rolls, and that there had been more of an info session pre-game, but otherwise I was happy to see how the players adapted to the game as presented.
The roleplay is great.
But, understandably because they haven't played D&D before, there's a bit of excessive control attempted by the players to direct the story.
Fairly, Riley works very hard to scale back what they're trying to do and drip tidbits out of what they want.
It seems that none of the actors/players took any offense to Riley not letting everything they want to do just happen, which is also great.
Also, I open my robe.
Part of this is the DM having all the info because everything is on the fly. You have to hand it to all three if them because they're doing it all blind.

That was a completely no sense chaotic adventure, with completely no sense chaotic characters... LOVED IT!
I really like that he doubled down on being a robe, can’t tell yet if its some translation humor or he actually hears the same word when you say rogue or robe

Rooker popped me so hard at the end. Whenever I play my Half-Orc Barbarian, my goal at the end of any combat sequence is to either drop the opponent to 1 or 2 HP and finish it with a face stomp, or at least to do one after the fact. Just that happy little insult to injury gives me glee. Lol.
This is so unhinged and in my opinion a perfect dnd session 😂

They all did pretty good for improvising most of it on the fly. Probably should've been planned it out in advance though.

This was always so much better when it was in person with geek and sundry. Nerdist didn’t do it justice especially who they had as players.
Yeah I feel like they just scoop up the free real estate name. Though it was seemingly just sprung on the actors and the DM puts themselves in a position where they are micromanaging everything.
Though it's not to be bad for a piece of entertainment all on its own.
