1,000,000 metal songs were inspired by the sound of this era of Iron Maiden.. you hear it everywhere.. I remember exactly where I was the first time I heard this album.. blew my mind and changed my world.
All true. As a former pro pilot myself, I appreciate you bringing this to everyone's attention. Not only is he "just a pilot", but he holds an honorary Certificate from Qantas airlines from Australia! He flies the band around the world in their very own Boeing 747 (before that it was a 757) they call it "Ed Force One". Badass in my humble & accurate opinion. Peace (and long live MAIDEN)!!!
Omg Iron fkn Maiden! I was born in June of 1975. I grew up on all these bands. Maiden was and still is one of my favorite bands. I'm so lucky to have been a kid during the 80's and early 90's. Guys still wore LEVIS above the ass and their hair long. Hallowed is one of their best songs. Totally.
1975 ? you missed it all, your were 7 when these bands came around. I was born 1966, and saw the birth and lived metal. Met Venom, Slayer, Metallica, all of them when they were barely 20, cutting their teeth. Lived every weekend at L’Amour in Brooklyn, the metal scene was about that place.
Some other Maiden choices - 2 Minutes to Midnight, The Trooper, Die With Your Boots On, Run To The Hills, Powerslave,Number of the Beast ... to name a few. Also a few other band suggestions - King Diamond, Sabaton, GWAR, Candlemass, Savatage, Iced Earth, Hammerfall, and Houston band Helstar
I have watched many reaction videos but you surpass them all. its a joy to watch and you really show your appreciation. Great video, great band. thank you man
Hallowed is the first Maiden song I ever heard, been in love with them ever since. Not only one of Maiden’s best but genuinely one of the best metal songs ever written. I was the same with Helloween, I first heard them when I was mid-20s, kicked myself I hadn’t listened to them earlier.
I saw them in Raleigh NC a couple of years ago !! I've been a fan all my life and finally got to make those dreams come true. I saw them with Megadeth (who I love as well) and they sucked so bad.
KeK I had the pleasure of finally getting to see them in Mancherster (UK) at the Arena literally a week ago!! Totally blew me away. I uploaded a video of fear of the dark.... The crowd sound awesome
The album that this song was on came out my senior year in high school. I actually saw Iron Maiden before Bruce Dickinson became the lead singer. I also saw them on four other tours during the 80's....there was nobody better during that time when it comes to live shows. So glad I was around and rocking when metal was king!
I saw this tour in 1982 .. Iron Maiden was opening up for Judas Priest . .. I also saw Maiden the year before open for Priest in 81 ..I didn't know at the time I was witnessing metal history , but I am glad I was there .. in the fog of ten thousand joints !!
IVORY123100 Oh yes, I saw the same tour, in fact Madison Square Garden 1982. Both groups were amazing, but the energy level wins to Maiden. Good times. 😁👍
@ Ross .. I agree with you there .. Maiden was better .. In 81 .. seemingly nobody knew of Maiden at the concert " I didn't " ,, A few did and I remember a guy walking around with a blanket with Maiden all over it " Whatever " Where's Priest ?? .. I was on the floor of The Capitol Centre in DC and these no-namers took the stage .. I think they opened with Killers .. can't remember but by the middle of the song .. 50,000 people were on their feet .. I looked at my friend and asked " Who the F are these guys ?? " .. Our heads about exploded and I wasn't sure we even wanted Priest to take the stage .. I will forever remember the date .. July 1st 1981 .. Killers/ Point of Entry tour
IVORY123100 awesome to even be able to recall all that. 👍Summer (I think) of '81 was Van Halen Fair Warning tour. Year earlier was Ozzy on Blizzard of Oz tour. My ear drums are still ring for those 3 years of insane concerts. 😵 Good Ol days. Too much partying. Oh well. Live to tell another day.
Yeah man .. That was my second concert at the same venue on July 29th 1981 Van Halen / Fair Warning .. I kinda recall The Rods opening up and the following year .. Of course The Number Beast / Screaming for Vengeance .. in July of 82 .. I saw in July of 82 .. UFO opening for Ozzy .. There was no Randy Rhoads .. It was Brad Gillis on guitar .. Looking back I saw some of the most significant bands of that era . In fact my band member bass went on to play for a decently significant band " Iced Earth " and before that opening for acts like Crimson Glory, Fates Warning and Poison .. I wasn't in the band at the time " I sucked !!".. One of my best memories was going to a club in Baltimore " Hammerjacks " in 1984 . Paid a five spot at the door .There was a wrap around bar and I got a beer and had a perfect view overlooking the band ... It was Queensryche ! and during the lead break of Take Hold of The Flame . Geoff Tate climbed the PA and grabbed my hand and stayed there for a minute .. I remember the look on DeGarmo's face looking at me while he was ripping it " Don't Push Him !! " ....LOOL.. When I look back . I saw the beginnings and the best years of some of Metal .. .. I haven't been to a concert in years .. I moved to SC and the last one was Quiet Riot , Ratt, Firehouse and Cinderella ... more of the hair metal aspect but I still had a great time with the women
I first saw them in 88, I was 16, worked in a donut shop for the night shift after the show! People heard about that experience while drinking their coffee that night, I can tell you! Priest first concert in 87.
I'd love for you to react to Aces High, The Trooper, The Number of the Beast, and Run to The Hills (all Iron Maiden). I'd also really appreciate it if you reacted to Judas Priest, Megadeth, and I'd most like to see a Black Sabbath reaction!
Bruce Dickinson has one of the most iconic voices in metal. He is also a very accomplished fencer and commercial pilot. Iron Maiden have their own 747 that Bruce pilots when they're on tour. Iron Maiden is my all-time favorite band. Here are some more of their songs to check out/react to: Phantom Of the Opera Wrathchild Children Of the Damned The Number Of the Beast Revelations The Trooper Still Life To Tame A Land 2 Minutes To Midnight Powerslave Rime Of the Ancient Mariner Caught Somewhere In Time Stranger In A Strange Land Alexander The Great Moonchild Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son Fear Of the Dark When the Wild Wind Blows Tears Of A Clown (about Robin Williams)
Iron Maiden's songs are like listening to a theatrical story through music, they are incredible. As a suggestion I recommend Dance of Death and Empire of the Clouds.
I used to hate metal as a kid (was a huge Backstreet Boys fan lol). Then Dance of Death came out in 2003, and a year later my elder brother forced me to listen to the title track. The sheer musical theatrics and the vivid imagery of the lyrics turned me into a religious devotee instantly. As a 13 year old kid who was only exposed to pop music and had only heard a few seconds of really aggressive thrash metal music in passing (accidentally), listening to Dance of Death for the first time was a one-of-a-kind experience in my life. Heaven bless these men for their music!! They even made me love those thrash metal songs I used to hate lol.
Great reaction. I had this album at 15 and I’m still listening to it at 50. Iron Maiden have so many great songs but maybe you should check out a few more classics like ‘Children of the Damned’ ‘Flight of Icarus’ ‘Two Minutes to Midnight’ ‘Powerslave’ ‘The Trooper’ ‘Revelations’ or, if you willing to give up 13 minutes of your time, ‘The Rime of the Ancient Mariner’. I’m sure that you would love any of these and tell your Mum that she has great taste in music. Love to see a reaction video with you two together.
Legacy of The Beast tour is insane, saw them in Tallinn. The setlist is quite nice, it has both some deeper cuts and the super-popular hits. And their stage show is just epic, Bruce's voice sounds amazing and he jumps/runs around as if he were 25 years old. The only real drawback is openers, I don't really like Killswitch Engage and hearing them live didn't change my opinion of them at all.
RolandsSh I'm seeing them in August and I've got the same feelings about Killswitch, when I saw them for the first time for the Book of Souls tour Shinedown were opening and they were rather good.
Took my son to see Maiden since the the age of 6 and I love how he loves seeing them love how he signs along with the crowd and even had the band notice him and was given the guitar picks from Dave and Adrian smith, and the wrist band from steve. An experience he will never forget
I wish I could journey through Iron Maiden's monster sized discography for the first time all over again. 16 studio albums and 12 live albums. Everytime you hear a Maiden song for the first time, that becomes your new favorite Maiden song lol. Consider yourself a lucky man. By the way if you're a history buff they have tons of songs about historical people and events. They have songs about Alexander the Great, The Cold War, A British fighter pilot engaging in a dogfight against the Nazis in WW2, The charge of the light brigade in the Crimean War, Icarus of Greek mythology, Ancient Egypt, the Battle of Passchendaele in the first World War, Viking Raids, D-Day, The Pilgrims voyaging to the America's on the Mayflower, The Scottish highlanders defending their land from the English and even a song about a pre-historic Neolithic man's quest for fire. Probably many others I'm not thinking of. They have some cool concept albums as well.
Lol, this is so great... I just saw them live for the 4th time with my boyfriend who had never heard them before, like you, and he was similarly awestruck. You've totes got to see their live show now! It's next level.
Man be careful, Iron Maiden is this kind of band of which you just can't dislike even one song. Once you start, it's damn hard to stop listening. Your life can be ruined. Just warning bro.
Alex ..... you Gotta try .... Savatage .... Gutter Ballet .... Huge, Unbelievable Song. This is the band that Morphed into Trans Siberia Orchestra. Check them out
this is the power of good music, you like it the first time you hear it. not like the shit on radio nowadays that needs to be playing again, and again and again everywhere to brainwash you to like it
Alex - LOVING your reaction and enthusiasm. The power and energy of rock music is incredible, and the guitar is probably THE most expressive instrument ever, and Maiden have two! The expression on your face during the solos says it all. More importantly for me, you're appreciating the MEANING of the song, analysing the lyrics and giving your opinion: you don't just nod along lamely just to get your face on RUclips. I'm signing up now!
Quick history lesson in the evolution of metal (key torchbearers): Black Sabbath -> Judas Priest -> Iron Maiden -> Metallica -> Pantera -> today’s metal.
Something in here smells like false, never mind found the person who's too lazy to find new bands. Sabbath, Priest and Maiden will always be top tier, but come on therr is so much materiql being released that deserves to be called excellent that you just come off as a lazy listener.
Yep! Those are the essentials. You can go anywhere and listen to any metal band you want but, you have to listen, know and respect those five bands to be a metalhead.
You should check out Fear Of The Dark. It's my favorite song by Iron Maiden. The live in Rio 2001 version is one of the best crowd participation moments ever!
Back in 1982, when I was at the age of 12, I listened to this song for the first time... That made me their fan and always being proud for listening to their music during my whole life ! If I must add something important for Iron Maiden is that they always were - and still are - a band who loves playing live over anything else ! If you have a chance go and see them... they still kick asses !!
Excellent choice ! This song is an anthem of Heavy Metal and one of the best, and my personal favorite, Maiden's songs. Bruce Dickinson along with Dio and Rob Halford are right on the top as the best metal vocalists ever
I’m a drummer in a Maiden tribute band and this is my favourite song to play! Also, Rime of the Ancient Mariner is their greatest work. Best song ever!
I'm 48 yo , i listening Iron Maiden since 1981, i was 11 yo. That album was the afirmation of Iron Maiden, and that song .... that album... You let me with wather vision. I have the same reaction , it blow my mind. And still does !

Moonchild he might as well check out their whole discography lol btw Moonchild is a sick ass song that intro then the that Melodic riff sick af I love all their albums except No prayer for the dying and most of Fear of the dark but I bet he'll love most if not all of them
Iron Maiden's 666 flight live album is amazing. Hearing them live is like nothing else! Rhyme of the ancient mariner live is a GOT TO for a new video! Or Fear of the dark! The way the crowd reacts is mind blowing on live albums!!! Xxx
Rafael Piñon Ramirez Or Hypnotize, or Lonely Day, or B.Y.O.B, or Suite Pee, or Science, or Cigaro, or X, or Chic N' Stu... Or all the fucking System discography
I think, next to Ronnie James Dio, Bruce Dickenson has the best voice in metal. They are masterful musicians, too. Pay particular attention to the bass track. He's not just playing a bass line, he's playing just as much of the lead as the lead guitar, just different notes.
Kevin Burgess That's because Steve Harris (the bassist) is the founder & has a heavy hand in the writing. That is one of the signatures of his style to be up front & center with the guitars. He writes a lot of riffs along with the guitarists.
First heard them in '87 when I was five years old. I'm now 36 and saw them live again just four days ago, they're still fantastic and no-one does a live show like Maiden!

Totally.
audrey ann now we got these gangsters lol 😂
1975 ? you missed it all, your were 7 when these bands came around. I was born 1966, and saw the birth and lived metal. Met Venom, Slayer, Metallica, all of them when they were barely 20, cutting their teeth. Lived every weekend at L’Amour in Brooklyn, the metal scene was about that place.
Paul Amarante well aren’t you just the coolest guy ever now
Omg, yes, right on, "Iron fkn Maiden"....June baby of '73, been listening to Iron Maiden since 13...gosh, love my Brucey!!!!
@@jackg1902 lmao!!! No kidding, right? Geezzzhh 🙄
This song STILL gives me GOOSEBUMPS!
Every frigging time.
Yep!! This, and ‘Burn’ by deep purple
The word epic was invented for Maiden
porpsi True, Epic word has unique meaning to it, that quality only iron maiden carries... 👏👏👏👏
You misspelled despacito
Fuck despacito and anything about it. No misspelled words there.
Hefipale Burp
Wooosh!
that's the song i'm having played at my funeral UP THE IRONS!
me too
I'd prefer Number of the Beast. "I'm coming back. I will return ... " ;)
I don't know I kinda think I would prefer "The Final Frontier"
I think Machine Head's version might be more appropriate for a funeral.
Im having 2 minutes to midnight playing at my funeral
when you love Iron Maiden , you love her for ever
Some other Maiden choices - 2 Minutes to Midnight, The Trooper, Die With Your Boots On, Run To The Hills, Powerslave,Number of the Beast ... to name a few.
Also a few other band suggestions - King Diamond, Sabaton, GWAR, Candlemass, Savatage, Iced Earth, Hammerfall, and Houston band Helstar
An awesome Maiden song!!! Now you've GOTTA do Megadeth!! Tornado Of Souls or Holy Wars!! Dig your channel!! \m/
The Rusty Guitarist The Mechanix!!!!
Tornado of souls is such a fucking deep song +1 for that.
Megadeth - Of Mice and Men
Lucretia!
she-wolf guitar duels!
Seriously dude, pick any song of 'maidens in the the 80s to listen to. They're all good and 95% of the are solid gold, I am not even kidding
100 percent correct
All of there music from any era are amazing
and they kick ass live, too! ^^
It's insane how Iron Maiden produced 7 incredible albums over the span of 10 years.
He picked the band's best song - or at least my favorite. But, yeah...
Finally somebody who comments about the song instead of trying to push their own favorites. Sheesh!
fear of the dark is ridiculusly fun to play
If ya think their bad ass through headphones, treat yourself to them live. After 30+ yrs, still my fav metal band.
KeK couldn’t agree more, going to see them again at the end of the month
The voice? Bruce "The Air Raid Siren" Dickinson. Apt nickname.
OneSober Guy A very good nickname
Do any of these Megadeth songs :
-Holy Wars... The Punishment Due
-Tornado of Souls
-Hangar 18
-Peace Sells
-Symphony of Destruction
Gregory Setiawan all*
Devils island!
Peace Sells, fuck yeah
Gregory Setiawan he is already going to react to Holy Wars
symphony of destruction and the treat is real are my favourites of megadeth
I'd love for you to react to Aces High, The Trooper, The Number of the Beast, and Run to The Hills (all Iron Maiden). I'd also really appreciate it if you reacted to Judas Priest, Megadeth, and I'd most like to see a Black Sabbath reaction!
Dorothy Cho don't forget Motörhead!!!
Powerslave or Somewhere In Time should be his next Maiden reaction!
Rainmaker.pls.
Aces High & Trooper, yes. But the others are nowhere near the best of Maiden. Very overrates and bland songs I think :/
danynumero6 I love Motörhead! I think Ace of Spades is a good first reaction.
Bruce Dickinson has one of the most iconic voices in metal. He is also a very accomplished fencer and commercial pilot. Iron Maiden have their own 747 that Bruce pilots when they're on tour. Iron Maiden is my all-time favorite band. Here are some more of their songs to check out/react to:
Phantom Of the Opera
Wrathchild
Children Of the Damned
The Number Of the Beast
Revelations
The Trooper
Still Life
To Tame A Land
2 Minutes To Midnight
Powerslave
Rime Of the Ancient Mariner
Caught Somewhere In Time
Stranger In A Strange Land
Alexander The Great
Moonchild
Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
Fear Of the Dark
When the Wild Wind Blows
Tears Of A Clown (about Robin Williams)
Bruce controlling the crowd to this song live, is on another level!
Empire is the best one from the new album ;)
Stephen Parkinson hell yea flight of Icarus was the first song I ever heard by them
Tara L Bethune wow im 15 now
Flight of the Icarus is one story of my country Greece. Also a Greek is Alexander the Great!😉
Rime of the Ancient Mariner is one of the greatest musical masterpieces ever written!
You have to watch live videos from iron maiden. They have the best stage presence of any metal band.
After of Judas Priest,of course
My favourite Maiden song. Just perfect. Restrospective and bad ass at the same time.
If your mom loves Maiden, then I love your mom and hell yes I want to see a mom reacts video.
We're still waiting for that Mum reaction video!
I love his mom too
Man, Fear of the dark... You´ll love it
After a lifetime of listening to Iron Maiden, I am finally getting to see them live this summer. life is good :D
Jesper The Friendly Toast you got one HELL of a show incoming! They blew my mind 1/6 - 18
Jesper The Friendly Toast They put on a great show
RolandsSh I'm seeing them in August and I've got the same feelings about Killswitch, when I saw them for the first time for the Book of Souls tour Shinedown were opening and they were rather good.
Saw them yesterday. Everything except the mixing was amazing.
Took my son to see Maiden since the the age of 6 and I love how he loves seeing them love how he signs along with the crowd and even had the band notice him and was given the guitar picks from Dave and Adrian smith, and the wrist band from steve. An experience he will never forget
YESSSSS, FINALLY THA MAIDNNNNNN😂😍💪 THANK U ALEX ,YOU'RE GREAT !
Pantera -- Floods!!! (long outro version)
TheMINGLEDSOLID4 this!!!!
Yes!!!
Lol, this is so great... I just saw them live for the 4th time with my boyfriend who had never heard them before, like you, and he was similarly awestruck. You've totes got to see their live show now! It's next level.
Excellent song choice, can you do Wasted Years next 👌👌
Scott Crosby YUUUS PLEASE DO WASTED YEARS!! AND THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST
Yep, and Flight of Icarus is another one to the list! \m/
Scott Crosby meh wasted years is so boring
Scott Crosby great idea!!!!
Up
Welcome to the Maiden family. Up the irons bro!
Man be careful, Iron Maiden is this kind of band of which you just can't dislike even one song. Once you start, it's damn hard to stop listening.
Your life can be ruined.
Just warning bro.
I second this.
9 years later, still doing it 🤘
You can still go see Iron Maiden LIVE!! You MUST go and take your Mom!!! #uptheirons!!! \m/
if youre gonna do Maiden. this is a must hear. Fear of the Dark......live in rio
Indeed. The Rio live version is so good.
James Mcconnell alot of their live songs are much better than the studio versions
Alex ..... you Gotta try ....
Savatage .... Gutter Ballet ....
Huge, Unbelievable Song.
This is the band that Morphed into Trans Siberia Orchestra.
Check them out
this is the power of good music, you like it the first time you hear it.
not like the shit on radio nowadays that needs to be playing again, and again and again everywhere to brainwash you to like it
Square Hammer - Ghost. Do it.
Yes I will comment this on every video until you do it.
their new album is just bliss
New album is straight fire bro
Alex - LOVING your reaction and enthusiasm. The power and energy of rock music is incredible, and the guitar is probably THE most expressive instrument ever, and Maiden have two! The expression on your face during the solos says it all.
More importantly for me, you're appreciating the MEANING of the song, analysing the lyrics and giving your opinion: you don't just nod along lamely just to get your face on RUclips. I'm signing up now!
Maiden have what? Maiden HAD two. They have three now!
Mom reacts needs to happen
Do Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark (Live at Rock in Rio). The crowdsinging there is fuckin incredible!!
Is that the Flight 666 DVD one??? Because if so, that's one of the greatest live videos of a metal band ever.
Nope, the DVD is called Rock in Rio, from 2002. That, my friend, is the very definition of epic
Ola Ahh, yeah I've seen that one. It's awesome! But personally I prefer the Flight 666 performance lol
Brazilians love Iron Maiden
it's a Cult
Iron Maiden have a bigger following here than any local band. The holy trinity of metal here in Brazil is Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Metallica.
Quick history lesson in the evolution of metal (key torchbearers):
Black Sabbath -> Judas Priest -> Iron Maiden -> Metallica -> Pantera -> today’s metal.
Shmick ! You forgot Slayer bro.
Death? also, ^
Something in here smells like false, never mind found the person who's too lazy to find new bands.
Or The Big Four could all bear the torch.
Whenever react to iron maiden, react to the LIVE versions, the impact increases many folds
You should check out Fear Of The Dark. It's my favorite song by Iron Maiden. The live in Rio 2001 version is one of the best crowd participation moments ever!
Ghost - Square Hammer
Iron Maiden - Wasted Years Please
MT Hamada favourite Maiden song ever
Hell yeah, everyone always overlooks this one.
Bruce Dickinson along with Dio and Rob Halford are right on the top as the best metal vocalists ever
kreshBACON h a l d o r f
haha, my bad man XP
Devin Townsend. Best metal vocalists and one of the best metal vocalists of all time.
I sure am glad that I grew up listening to Iron Maiden, and glad you finally had your face melted.
My Iron Maiden recommendaions:
For The Greater Good of God
Dance of Death
These Colours Don't Run
When The Wild Wind Blows
Needs some more Classic Iron Maiden, Like Strange World, Killers, Remember Tomorrow, and Phantom of the Opera
andrewichigo and The Talisman, Wildest Dreams, Longest Day, Wasted Years, Can I Play With Madness... Just too many incredible Maiden songs

Tiago, os seus filhos vão dizer o mesmo ! E você vai manter essa chama acesa cada vez que carrega no PLAY.
Up the Irons !
Glad you liked the song. I am a huuuuge Iron Maiden Fan. There are waiting endless awesome Maiden Hits for you ;).
Up the irons!
Ps: sry for my bad english, I am from Germany! XD
Nario Esel - seine englisch ist gut genug: besser als meine deutsch, bestimmt.
TheNthMouse Haha Thanks/Danke ;D
I appreciate the intro music being a combo of metal/hip hop
The Midget Show I noticed that too! He’s becoming a metal head more and more, and the intro reflects that
When you start to question how others dislike this genre, you're in.
YAAAASSS!!! I need to see a Mom reacts! Am I right Hefnerds???
RoySFord absolutely. RUN TO THE HILLS!!!!
RoySFord Yeah.... and you have to do the same... Roy and Alex reacts Metal👍

Moonchild Holy shit guy you gave ME homework
Iron Maiden's 666 flight live album is amazing. Hearing them live is like nothing else! Rhyme of the ancient mariner live is a GOT TO for a new video! Or Fear of the dark! The way the crowd reacts is mind blowing on live albums!!! Xxx
Try "Rime of the ancient mariner". I wonder how would you react to that song :D
Neven
He would absolutely flip out on that story of a song.. one of my favs too..
Even better, the Flight 666 version

Your head resting on your hand was perfect. You've been missing out for YEARS!! Luckily, they're touring again.
#UpTheIrons
This song gives me chills everytime I listen to it
I think, next to Ronnie James Dio, Bruce Dickenson has the best voice in metal.
Steve Harris is a genius. His playing and songwriting are brilliant as all hell. Best bassist ever!
Steve Harris .....best metal bassist ever ftw
Rename channel to "Me becoming a metalhead" already! And do Sabaton! To Hell and back!
If your Mom loves Iron Maiden then I'm sure this is not your First time hearing this song 😂😂
iron maiden - fear of the dark pls
I´m glad your Hip-Hop was cured by Iron Maiden.
Yikes
Listen to the trooper or aces high
Abhishek Raj yeah bhai that's awesome
Or run to the hills and he'll be like "o shit I heard this so many times! This is Iron Maiden?!"
2 minutes to midnight, powerslave, flight of Icarus, wasted years, only the good die young, purgatory
Fear of The bloody Dark
Have you ever heard Age Of Innocence? It's a great Maiden music
First heard them in '87 when I was five years old. I'm now 36 and saw them live again just four days ago, they're still fantastic and no-one does a live show like Maiden!
