Chris you have the best C5 channel out there you stay on top of all the thing i want to do to my C5 I see you going far I just replaced the shift cable on my 04 tried to record it but camera went bad
Whatauuppp Chris..watching here from the UK...cool video..the switchbacks are the best. Here in the UK we can only have orange indicators ( blinkers).
I'm really digging the amber LEDs.
I hope my son puts in the third light you showed us. I'll let you know. Philly the vet guy
Chris it will be awesome if you can provide a video showing how much current flows with the alogen bulb vs LED bulb. I don't know if you as touched the relays for the DRL with stock alogen installed before, those gets hot due to the amount of current draw for those bulb. For me, the LED replacement is a most if you like to preserve your system circuit, working without electrical issue in the future due to heated relay, burn wires and sockets. Also the stock alogen melt the corner light plastic due to the heat the alogen bulb produce.
Man thank you for your awesome c5 videos.
Hey Chris can you do some more driving videos on your cool C5...but..can you put a go pro or two on the outside..so we can see that driving viewpoint?
Thanks for sharing
Switchbacks are pretty cool
Forgot to mention, these amber and switchbacks also work in C6.
Chris, will you do a video on the install of the switch backs?
Already did just a few days ago.
Howdy. Pulling up an old vid of yours because I'm trying to figure out if these are bright enough during the day. Are the amber signals visible enough on a sunny day since you're in AZ? I feel like no one can see me but I live on the east coast in a grey C5 with grey roads. LOL
They are very bright.
When using these will I have to buy a hyper flash harness? Thanks!
big question heat , melting of wires and housing . does the led lights get hot and melt the housing like the halogen …
and the" hyperflash wire set " up does it get hot ?? I've tried switchbacks with an in line registers and in five minutes of use it burned my fingers .
I don't want anything to get hot .thanks for your time .
No and no. If wires are getting hot you have a problem.
@@mycorvettelife do you use the resisters that come with the led bulb if your planning on using hyper flash wire harness thanks for your time ...do you know the fix to air pump check valve ?
What’s the size of the bulb on the drl
I like Amber I like Amber She always been good to me lol
Is the camera representing the brightness correctly? Which color is more prominent during signaling, amber or white? The switchbacks look like they're flashing the brighter white light then returning to amber marker brightness. They would look so much better if the white light would stay off until the turning signal was canceled.
Turn signal is Amber. When turn signal is off it is white. Brightness is hard to capture on camera. They are bright.
@@mycorvettelife so the amber and white are of equal brightness? It seems this would be safer if the white light would stay off, flashing amber only, until the signal was canceled. I doubt this is DOT compliant.
They are equal brightness.
Just got a 1998 C5, replaced the headlights with LEDs and got switchback LEDs to install next. However, I have yet to discover how to turn on the DLR lights. Maybe the bulbs are out but I don't see an indication on the light switch for DLR. Any help out there?
They should always be on when the car is on.
Yes, I discovered they were on. I thought Daylight would be a white bulb but it was yellow. Anyway, I got new fixtures (clear for the DLR and yellow for the corner LED) and had the mechanic install flashback LEDs. They also burn yellow and blink. I wondered if they were installed in reverse if they DLR lights would be white like I hoped then blink amber? Just wondering if he knew or if it made a difference like some bulbs won't work at all if you reverse them?
Is the DRL bulb an 899 just like the fog light?
did u need any hyperflash harnesses for the switchback bulbs
Yes
