Do the Prodrive wheels clear without a spacer? If so what is the spec? 17x7.5+48 require a spacer according to S2Ki..
This is accurate. My prodrives are in the s2k spec and although i didnt show it in the video i did run a 5mm spacer to clear the calipers.
@@zaahidrahman Thanks for the reply man, much appreciated and great video! Do you think they would clear with a 3mm spacer? I love the GC-07s and have been trying to find a pair of 7.5+44 for quite a while but might have to make do with a +48 and a spacer.
@@_PreciousMetal i dont think 3mm is enough with the +48 wheel. Technically a 4mm is all you need but it was so close lol. It would clear by the thickness of a credit card 😂. I ended up going with a 5mm for a little extra clearance
Babe wake up, Zaahid uploaded
Hahahahah
Do you have a link for the Project Mu Brake pads? I just got my Spoon Calipers!
I believe i picked them up from formula s in socal
Why do you need a new hub?
Did you have to roll the fenders? Thanks
i chose to roll my fenders to upgrade to a bigger wheel/tire in the future. you could definitely find a wheel that clear these brakes without a spacer and in that case you wouldnt need to roll your fenders.
How do you like the Firehawk Indy 500? I also have a set waiting to be put on. I got the 225/255 spec.
From what i can gather, they are a great entry level performance tire. I have yet get to their limits with my current skills on track so in my opinion they are fantastic lol
@@zaahidrahman That's awesome, to hear. Really looking forward to getting them on! Let me know once you've done your track testing!
@@adeemmunir5494 ive done two track days with them already and they perform well! Ill consider upgrading to a stickier tire after my next track day but for now they are solid. Youll have some fun with them
what kind of wheel hub and bearing did you used?
Dorman hubs and nsk bearings. Nothing fancy, just oem replacement equivalents
No steel braided lines? 🤔
I actually ended up doing those the next day lol. Went with stoptech lines
Sooooooo how do you like them? Worth it?
If youre getting serious about tracking your s2000 or are comparing the value per dollar, you’re probably better off going with any other bbk over Spoon calipers. For me, the Spoon calipers were kind of a bucket list part. In my limited track experience, just the brake pad upgrade wouldve held me over for a while but theres just something special about the spoon calipers. I got lucky with a great deal on a new set so for me they were 100% worth it. As i get faster on track or start getting to the limits of my current set up i may consider a bbk in the future.
Pros: easy brake pad changing (takes 2 mins), more even brake pad wear/better brake feel, aesthetically pleasing
Cons: does not brake harder or cool better than stock calipers, pricey
Worth it? they look cool so i think so 😅
