Its worth noting that Jeff Lynne wrote the music & lyrics to all their songs, as well as producing them all. He is a musical genius, and i love him. ❤🇬🇧
Jeff Lynne. Remember that name. He's a genius in every musical way. Mr Blue Sky is another masterpiece. If you do a reaction to that song, make sure it's the full/long version. The melodic ending is feels melting. It was voted the happiest song recorded back in the day. Still the most happy song today imo. 🥰
Love this group. ELO had their biggest hits in the 70's-80's & mixed modern rock pop songs with classical overtones. Jeff Lynne wrote most of their songs. They had a lot of great hits such as "Roll Over Beethoven", "Showdown", "Can't Get It Out Of My Head", "Evil Woman", "Strange Magic", "Livin' Thing", "Do Ya", "Rockaria!", "Turn To Stone", "Sweet Talkin' Woman", "Mr. Blue Sky", "Wild West Hero", "Don't Bring Me Down", "Shine A Little Love", "Last Train To London", "Confusion", "Hold On Tight", "Twilight" etc.
I love this song. It Takes me back to the days when a telephone operator could connect your call, him asking the operator to let ring a little longer. Yeah, I'm an old fella, but I rock with you mate.
My uncle Steve is a massive Queen fanatic. We both play and love music along with each other's company. At a family party a few months ago the subject of the best live show everyone has seen came up. Iron Maiden for me but I was surprised to hear Uncle Steve say ELO 1986 was the best performance he's ever seen. They really were that good.
E.L.O. the band that have contributed to the soundtrack of my life for over 45 years and still. Phenomenal band with a treasure chest full of musical gems to savour. I see also Shon that you have reacted also to my new musical discovery symphonic metal band "Nightwish" with Floor Jansen. Thank you. Paul 🙏😊👍❤️
I grew up listening to ELO...have loved them ever since. I was lucky enough to have been at this concert, with my then 23yr old son, who knows all the songs, word for word. If you get the chance, you MUST go to one of their shows....it was an amazing night...you would love it!!
many reactors miss out as they don't realise this is a mid 70's song when telephones were landline only , long distance calls were quite expensive , the sounds on this song mimick original telephone system sounds from the time period
I’ve been lucky enough to have seen them many times over the decades and treasure those experiences. Keep in mind that Jeff Lynne was 70 years old in this concert. You should check out the entire concert. Very special performance in my opinion. *Signed, 60 year old me 😉
My favourite group af all time. Jeff was in his late 60s when was singig this! Oh yes, he sill got it. I really ope you contunue to go donw this rabbithole. They have tons of songs....."Mr Blue Sky" "Evil Woman" "Dont Bring Me Down" "Livin Thing"..... All of these are from the 70s❤❤❤
Jeff Lynne and George Harrison were both members of Traveling Wilbury's. Jeff wrote songs for George and co-produced the album Cloud Nine which has When We Was Fab and Got My Mind Set On You on it.
Jeff Lynne (who comes from my home town of Birmingham, UK) is a musical genius. E.L.O. had loads of great songs and they sounded just as good live (if not better) than they did on the studio versions. Jeff was still doing concerts just before the pandemic at the age of 70+. My favourite is 'All Over the World' which makes you want to sing and dance. He was also in the super group 'The Travelling Willburys' with George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty.
I remember cleaning the house to what I called “old music” when I was a kid. ELO was always playing along with anything from the 70’s through the 80’s. My dad grew up during that music era and we were always listening to music from that time. Truly some good music from that timeline. ELO is a favorite of mine because of my dad.
Getting lost is the best take I’ve heard so far. As long as that phone is ringing there is still hope for the relationship as opposed to ending the call and the finality of admitting it’s over.
Hey Spotify on, ELO and random, and let it play.... Every song is either good, fantastic or amazing!! 🙂 And so are you Shon!! Thank you for being you! Love your energy!
Quite a few of the bands you react to have mostly older fans. They tend to be smaller and calmer. Not all, but I've been to Steely Dan, Boz Skaggs, Little Feat and Melissa E the ridge concerts in the last few years and they are markedly more calm. I too get anxiety in crowds. This may be one advantage to growing old.
If you liked this with the orchestra, you'd love 'whiter shade of pale' by procol harum live in Denmark 2006. You won't believe it. I loved your reaction to this song. They have a lot of great songs but this is my favorite.
"Mr Blue Sky" "Dont Bring Me Down" "Evil Woman" "Diary Of Horrace Wimp" "Hold On Tight" "Livin Thing" "Hold On Tight" These are just a few of ELO's hits. And each and everyone of them is a masterpiece. ❤🎼🇬🇧
100% correct in your analysis about getting lost in this music. ELO was of those bands who really put lots into their project. Its beautiful. By the way, this band picked up in the 1970s from where the Beatles left off.
Oh man let me tell ya. This was my favorite group of all time in high school 1978. Back then it was vinyl. I had a record player under my bed and I played ELO every night before I went to sleep. I can still sing the lyrics of every song to this day. Back then I was 18 today I’m 64
Great to see a young guy have the same reaction that I did back in the 70's. As many have said, Jeff Lynne is a genius. Apart from ELO he has produced and performed for many other artists and he still is.
Thanks, Shon - Jeff Lynne was just inducted into songwriters hall of fame... he is so under-appreciated! (p.s. this LIVE version is kind of better than the original studio... sort of like Queen!)
Saw them live in Chicago in the late 70's. They were as good or better live than the studio version, and they had green laser light effects besides. We had great seats in the 7th row!
One of the true musical greats even decades later and live on top of that... yes, Jeff Lynn, one of the best ! Back in the day you could have the operator ring a number for you... good ole dayz✌️🙂
ELO💖.. Strange Magic .. I bought their first album when it came out and the music just gets better .. there is an acoustic version on RUclips with Jeff Lynne and Richard Tandy (piano.. was elo keyboardist) (2012) worth a listen.. Jeff Lynne’s voice is amazing!
Jeff Lynne's one of rock royalty (Big name to remember). Lynne is a songwriter and record producer. He is best known for being the co-founder of the rock band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) which was formed in 1970. He has also worked, performed shoulder to shoulder with other greats such as Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison. This is a live performance "Electric Light Orchestra - Turn To Stone (1977) HD" this is from their 1977 album called "Out Of The Blue"
If you think THIS version is good, you should definitely check out the studio version. Not sure how old Jeff was during this concert, but, usually, singers voices lose something over the years as they age. And I noticed Jeff didn't hit the high notes in this performance. He chose less difficult notes. Still sounds wonderful, but definitely not as amazing as the studio version was back in the day.l Having said that, ELO was one of my favorite bands back in the day. I love watching young people today discovering how great much of the music was back in the period of about the mid 60s through the 70s. I had actual vinyl albums of ELO, Queen, the Eagles, Foreigner, Stevie Wonder, Boz Scaggs, etc. If you ever find yourself looking for something to react to, reach out -- I could give you hundreds of great songs from that era (and more recent as well) -- I STILL love music!
I used to take this album with me everywhere I went, just in case someone hadn't heard of them, or didn't have the disc. They were definitely a favorite, I've been to many concerts, but they never came close enough to me to see them.
I saw them in concert back in the late 70s when their stage was a giant spaceship. The top would open with lots of fog machine action and the band rose up out of the floor. Super futuristic for the time and an amazing concert. Check out Evil Woman, Turn to Stone, Strange Magic, Sweet Talkin' Woman.
Jeff Lynn’s love for the Beatles never shown brighter. This for me is a lock top 20 live rock performance on this app. Song bangs. Like if you get real high this and then that Peter Gabriel secret world tour masterpiece back to back.., 🤌
Talent is ageless, Jeff Lynne is a true master of song writing, producing and recording, and just like me from Birmingham in the UK (and there the similarity ends)
This is fire!! I love your reaction ♥️ The studio version is amazing too! You got the meaning of the song too but the feeling is just magical! Mr. Blue Sky is a beautiful song too! 😍 They have soooooooo many great songs!! I'm like'n you a lot 😉 More reactions please 🙏
Well, see now you are gonna have to react to Mr. Blue Sky.😅 Of course not all live shows are crazy. It depends on the artist and type of fans they have. On that note, if you haven't already reacted to Pearl Jam, Porch at Pink Pop in 92, Primus, Tommy The Cat, live at Bonnaroo and INXS, What You Need, live at Wembley Stadium in 91, those are some crazy, higher energy shows I think you will like. 😬
My favourite ELO song, though others are more beautiful. than this. For everyone who has stood in a cold, wet, smelly phone box, calling someone you know is not going to answer you, Back then you could let it ring for evermore, in hope, so much hope.
ELO...they have an orchestra backing them in some songs. The late sixties. Listen to their 'Roll Over Beethoven' recording, it is stunning. Written by Chuck Berry. Peace.
I was a kid when this came out, and I remember a buddy of mine loving it and I was like "meh", cuz there was so much other amazing music in the '70's. Of course, I came to love ELO and everything else in the soundtrack of my youth.
Back then we just wanted the music. We didnt want to cause problems due to petty shit we just were there to enjoy. I feel bad for kids today that cant experience this.
ELO will take you to another place every time and it’s Amazing. Jeff is a musical genius.
Its worth noting that Jeff Lynne wrote the music & lyrics to all their songs, as well as producing them all. He is a musical genius, and i love him. ❤🇬🇧
WELL SAID!

The orchestra,Jeff's voice,those lyrics,those harmonies....Yup,it checks EVERY box!☎️🥁🎻🎹🎸🎙🎶😁
I got on this song about six months ago. I play it for everyone. Amazing jam
This is gonna be like NOTHING you have ever heard before! ( You are gonna LOVE it)🤩
Wow, hearing this one brings back sweet memories of singing to this with my friends…all those harmonies are so lovely.
I love this song. It Takes me back to the days when a telephone operator could connect your call, him asking the operator to let ring a little longer. Yeah, I'm an old fella, but I rock with you mate.
ELO. Every single one of their songs has this just magical sound and takes you away. Every. Single. Song. Amazing
ELO is a deep dive, many great hits, I saw them live in 78 at their height of powers.
YOU WILL LOVE THIS JOURNEY, TRUST ME!
"Let it ring forevermore". That line hits hard. The guy never loses hope that the girl will eventually answer the phone.
Fabulous reaction how could you not appreciate this masterpiece thank you young man ❤
E.L.O. the band that have contributed to the soundtrack of my life for over 45 years and still. Phenomenal band with a treasure chest full of musical gems to savour. I see also Shon that you have reacted also to my new musical discovery symphonic metal band "Nightwish" with Floor Jansen. Thank you. Paul 🙏😊👍❤️
His voice on my guitar gently weeps with prince is unreal😊
One of the best reactions I've had the privilege to watch. The energy was superb.
I grew up listening to ELO...have loved them ever since. I was lucky enough to have been at this concert, with my then 23yr old son, who knows all the songs, word for word. If you get the chance, you MUST go to one of their shows....it was an amazing night...you would love it!!
We saw ELO a couple years ago and it was amazing! The singer is Jeff Lynne. He has an awesome voice.
ELO's "Can't Get It Out Of My Head" is also very beautiful.
Great reaction Shon! Do you notice no security protecting the stage? More love! Civil people!
I consider this one of the finest public performances, ever!
many reactors miss out as they don't realise this is a mid 70's song when telephones were landline only , long distance calls were quite expensive , the sounds on this song mimick original telephone system sounds from the time period
I love your reactions. Have seen several now. My first thought when I hear someone say, "I can't lie," is "he's lying." 🤣 But I believe you.
I’ve been lucky enough to have seen them many times over the decades and treasure those experiences. Keep in mind that Jeff Lynne was 70 years old in this concert. You should check out the entire concert. Very special performance in my opinion. *Signed, 60 year old me 😉

Thanks for keeping great music alive! Great reaction!
I love how much you loved a song I've always Loved all my life.
Such great talent!! Used to drive down the road with the radio turned way up!!❤
Love your take on ELO and the music I grew up to. Could listen to their music all day.
John Lennon of the Beatles Loved ELO! He was very impressed by them.
Jeff Lynne and George Harrison were both members of Traveling Wilbury's. Jeff wrote songs for George and co-produced the album Cloud Nine which has When We Was Fab and Got My Mind Set On You on it.

Shon, i enjoyed your reaction to this song/video. You can definitely get lost in ELO!
You're going to be blown away by "Mr Blue Sky!'
You deserve MANY more subscribers!
Thank you that means a lot, just doing what I love!
When I was a Boy, Mr. Blue Sky, Can’t Get It out of my Head, Strange Magic
More from this venue!!!! Jeff Lynn is brilliance personified.
ELO is a whole nother rabbit-hole you got to go down ohmygod
"All Over the World", "Roll Over Beethoven", "Hold on Tight"

You will love their songs Sweet Talking Woman, Living Thing, Don’t Bring Me Down and so many others! This rabbit hole is a MUST!!
This is one of those where if you just read the lyrics, you might not appreciate it, it really is Jeff's performance that breaks your heart.
"Mr Blue Sky" "Dont Bring Me Down" "Evil Woman" "Diary Of Horrace Wimp" "Hold On Tight" "Livin Thing" "Hold On Tight"
These are just a few of ELO's hits. And each and everyone of them is a masterpiece. ❤🎼🇬🇧
I feel for your generation. No ability to experience the love and togetherness of the arena rock of my generation. It was electrifying!
100% correct in your analysis about getting lost in this music. ELO was of those bands who really put lots into their project. Its beautiful. By the way, this band picked up in the 1970s from where the Beatles left off.
i loved your positivity thanks from the uk
Aww that was a boss reaction son..😂 and yeah, you would have felt safe there, the biggest threat would be some random person giving you a hug..🙄👍😊
ELO and Three Dog Night were my 2 favorite bands when I was a teen back in the 1970s : )
He's worked with everyone, number 1 was The Beatles, yes that group. George and him were bestie's. Jeff has the best clean/ crisp vocals.
Wembly Stadium ELO concert is off the hook
Please do more ELO. They are magical and you'll love it!
Oh man let me tell ya. This was my favorite group of all time in high school 1978. Back then it was vinyl. I had a record player under my bed and I played ELO every night before I went to sleep. I can still sing the lyrics of every song to this day. Back then I was 18 today I’m 64

Saw them live in Chicago in the late 70's. They were as good or better live than the studio version, and they had green laser light effects besides. We had great seats in the 7th row!
I don't blame you- love this song and had it on the old 45 record! Believe it or not- the record version is even better!😊
ELO electric light orchestra
One of the true musical greats even decades later and live on top of that... yes, Jeff Lynn, one of the best ! Back in the day you could have the operator ring a number for you... good ole dayz✌️🙂
Forget all other recommendations until after you listen to their biggest song, Mr. Blue Sky. Their defining song. Album version, of course.
ELO= Musical Genius
It's a strange place to start digging into ELO, but at least it's a start. There are about 50 more great songs waiting to be listened to now.
Dont bring me down is my fave but ELO were just great
Yes! My favourite as well! It’s very upbeat!
Jeff Lynne used to live half a mile away from me (at Walsh Hall). Great guy, very down to earth.
They are so damn good. And on a level of their own. I saw them in the 70s when I 12. Amazing!
ELO💖.. Strange Magic ..
I bought their first album when it came out and the music just gets better ..
there is an acoustic version on RUclips with Jeff Lynne and Richard Tandy (piano.. was elo keyboardist) (2012)
worth a listen..
Jeff Lynne’s voice is amazing!
ELO is a major sic lover band. Hopefully you’ll dive into the fantasy journey down the ELO rabbit-hole!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
You get it what a vibe hats off to you ❤

I have to agree with you, everything about this song is excellent
John Lennon (the beatles) said he was the son of the Beatles.. Jeff was also the inspiration for the Travelling Wilburys supergroup
Jeff Lynne is in his mid 70s and still has IT
Enjoy your reactions Shon. Peace
Well, see now you are gonna have to react to Mr. Blue Sky.😅

ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA❤😮😊❤
My favourite ELO song, though others are more beautiful. than this.
For everyone who has stood in a cold, wet, smelly phone box, calling someone you know is not going to answer you, Back then you could let it ring for evermore, in hope, so much hope.
Please do ELO's LIVING THING....so good and CAN'T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD ...so beautiful
Great commentary. Especially when you said this is a song u usually only do in a studio….. I could not agree anymore!!!!!
The studio version of this is much more upbeat !
ELO...they have an orchestra backing them in some songs. The late sixties. Listen to their 'Roll Over Beethoven' recording, it is stunning. Written by Chuck Berry. Peace.
Thank you so much for doing this one I'm going to sub
Jeff Lynn is a one of a kind talent. Musician and producer...
ELO - Don't fear the Reaper
Elo is one of the greatest bands
This is music this is music the 70s was full of music and Love and War but that's a whole nother story

Thank God I was a teenager during the 70s!
You, my friend, have just given yoirself the biggest treat! You Have to listen to ALL of their music! You will thank me later!
CHeck out more ELO, they never disappoint 😎
Back then we just wanted the music. We didnt want to cause problems due to petty shit we just were there to enjoy. I feel bad for kids today that cant experience this.
Check out the DVD, some classic songs. The album is a masterpiece
