Only difference in the mags from the Mark 3 to the Mark 4 is the little bit of plastic at the rear of the base plate. I had 17 mags for my Mark 3 when I sold it to buy my Mark 4. I took the Mark 3 mags out in my garage and gently removed the little bit of extra plastic with my grinder off all my MK3 mags. They all work flawlessly in my new MK 4 22/45. You could do it with a file or sand paper.
Just googled it; check out Chicago Tribune's hilarious title, but don't give them your click, that the full sound of a gun is "an important safety feature that the NRA wants to ban".
Ps- if you get a new one it comes with a ambit safety delete option(for the user)(2 Allen wrenches req by user/owner). So you can remove the right or left side safety pawl out of the way of your dominate grip hand. Big plus to ruger on customer feedback.
Good job guys on the review! I really like the new design of the Mark IV. My old man had one of the older versions when I was young, and I remember the difficulties of the design, but I've always loved the look of it. This one is definitely on my wish list!
It is so fun to watch someone who is actually happy to be shooting a particular gun. The "Happy Factor" speaks to this gun's potential consumer desirability.
I have almost the exact same set up. Same gun (black colored) same can, but with a holosun hs407c reflex. Seriously one of the funnest guns. And the pistol itself runs flawless. So easy to take down and clean.
As far as the Magazines, I just took my dremel tool and cut the tail off of the old magazines I had, They work perfect in my Mark IV lite. The only difference was the base plate protrusion.
I used to sell the Mk1-3 telling customers about the takedown, warning them not to do it without knowing it was going to be a train wreck. I had customers in the shop come in and tip me cigars and cash to put theirs back together after they had given up. The push button takedown is an amazing advancement, I might actually get a Mk4 now. If suppressors get off the NFA it's a done deal, I'm getting one.
Waiting on a Mark IV 22/45 with a regular (non-lite) barrel. something like the 22/45 Lite mixed with the Target or Competition barrel. Love the idea of the 22/45 grip angle, but I've already got enough lightweight .22 pistols. Thanks for the review!
man I have a older 22/45 lite. I put the VQ target sear, hammer and bushing in it. a tandemkross victory trigger and a kane wolf slide release, and the tandemkross muzzle break on it. talk about making theses pistols a joy to shoot!! my trigger is around 2 pounds. the flat trigger blade is a joy to use and I love hitting steel, pop cans and golf balls with it. great pistols. with these mods the magazine drops right out when you hit the release and the trigger is awesome. I also just use subsonic ammo in mine. I love this pistol. I use a red dot on mine period. the open sights are good, but they cover to much of the target for me.
btw I'm buying this gun :) the only problem is that silencers are illegals in Switzerland, but the state gives you a Sig550 (full auto) to keep in your house for free, so I can't b*tch about it too much XD
I love your channel it's one of the few gun channels I can stand to watch! I do wish you would do more gunsmithing projects and reloading videos like the good ol days!! Otherwise thanks for all the work you guys put in to put out quality content it's much appreciated!!
I love the push n pull do not miss read I to was one of those trying to get the line up I hated cleaning it Mark II bull nose Ruger .22. Then I had someone show me a game changer that brought about relief. You wanna know what it is to simple really. I could not believe. he did it several times right in front of me. Me swearing at him each time. Trick is ya see When you are ready to "SET" everything into place turn the Pistol upside down the friggin pin falls naturally into place. It has to be a almost exact straight u and down upside down any cant in it will throw it off just enough. IT does work
Good demonstration on the mark lV, 22s are such a blast to plink with, and for his weight gain is probably because of a good cooking wife! Great video.
Awesome video! We're LOVING this gun and look forward to trying it out in rimfire competition this spring. have you tried any upgrades and modifications for it yet? We've added our flat-faced trigger, charging handle and some internal parts and it's SO fun to shoot!
saw it at the shop today, have a mk2 with easily 50k thru it mostly suppressed. . Started as a 5 inch bull bbl had it threaded in the late 90s rebuilt refinished a couple times since. . black phosphate. . it's been a trooper and constant companion on every range trip and backpacking adventure since. boy the mk4 lite really is a light gun .. cannot wait to cut my pack gun weight in half
Awesome review, Thank you Chad and Eric. As with practically everything else, KOMMIFORNIA won't allow the sale of the firearm here. Totally PISSED off!. This state and it's lousy Government can go "EFF THEMSELVES". Keep up the great reviews guys, always looking forward to watching your show. Kind regards! Eric Dee.
I picked mine up about 2 weeks ago, and I absolutely love it. I am running the same set-up (Vortex sight) but with an SS Sparrow suppressor. And, yes, I was one of the ones wailing about "Where's the threaded barrel?" Got a good chuckle out of that comment... One thing of note... the MKIV mags do work in my MKII 22/45, but not vise-versa. From what I can see, the back of the butt plate on the MKII mag is longer, which prevents it from entering into the bottom of the MKIV mag well. Keep an eye on TandemKross... if (when) they come out with new bumper plates for the MKIV mags, you should (hopefully) be able to retro-fit any older MKII or MKIII mags, and make them compatible across the entire line.... or pull out the dremel tool :)
WOuld love to see what they say. I have a early version, it jammed a lot at first but I probably have several thousand rounds through it now and it shoots good now. My dad and a friend all have one been good guns.
Mine is coming in on Thursday. I had one years ago that had perfect accuracy, but I ended up selling it. Pain in the ass to clean, but it didn't really need it until jamming issues started at around 700 rds. Other than that, it's an excellent choice if you don't like the Rugers. All these years that sale haunted me, so i'm getting another one. The S&W Victory isn't that special. The takedown screw comes loose regularly.
Russel McFeathers I would imagine even with subsonic ammo traveling through a 22 pistol at a low velocity, at point blank range or within a few feet, the 22lr would indeed penetrate the skull and kill instantly.
About time they fixed the takedown method for this thing. The disassembly and reassembly of the mark III is the biggest pain in the ass I've ever seen in a firearm.
even as a german with more or less the european gun mentality "i don't need guns" i always love his videos and .22 has something special with this weapon type
Ruger has long stated their slide stop should not be depressed to allow the bolt to chamber a round, They should all be slingshot operated to chamber a round. The hold open bolt catch on the Ruger is soft metal and wears fast. Actually, the slide stop button should NOT be depressed on ANY semi auto. All of them should be slingshot operated ! Especially, the Desert Eagle !!! I've noticed, some reviewers say the standard Mark II and Mark III Rugers cannot be slingshot operated. Not so with my Mark II and Mark III, they have been slingshot operated since day one without a problem. Only the Mark III and (I suppose) new Mark IV 22/45 models cannot be slingshot operated but Volquartsen has a superb kit that you can purchase to allow it. TandemKross has a similar kit. GET ONE !
Dead Air Mask... The Quietest 22 can on the market.. Just filled out my form 4 so it is time to wait.. I will pick up the Surefire Ryder 22 tomorrow.. good video
personally I don't like the 22/45 but I watch every video because I love what u guys do also love ur videos content on every guns u shoot and break down everything the good bad and the ugly lol!!!.....
I have found that you can mod the older 22/45 magazines to fit the Mark IV's- remove material from the back of the magazine base plate so it is flush with the magazine body.
I really enjoy shooting mine....cant say as I like breaking it down, it's an older 22/45 Mark III , it's a high quality .22lr pistol extremely accurate and for twenty bucks a day...I just cant beat it...dig the show..Chad you really did a great job on this video and this little powerhouse.....Keep on rocking it! Iraqveteran8888....
Really great video! I have a 22/45 lite, but it's the model before this one. LOVE the simplified takedown & other upgrades they did..BOUT TIME!! Now I'll have to buy this one. Thanks a lot..LOL!
I don't like the polymer grip or the grip angle. So I managed to buy a Mk IV Tactical, which was rather difficult. I upgraded it with a reddot, a Volquartsen trigger and a Tandemkross compensator, because supressors are difficult to get here in Germany. It is pure fun to shoot.
Now that's what i would call "Hollywood quiet."
Good reference
Only difference in the mags from the Mark 3 to the Mark 4 is the little bit of plastic at the rear of the base plate. I had 17 mags for my Mark 3 when I sold it to buy my Mark 4. I come from indonesia iwant it iam care and nice dream four you
I feel like Ruger is obsessed with the .22 lr caliber
Americans love 22 lr. They have a good hold on the market... good on Ruger.
I really hope they start making the internally suppressed pistols again.
Nothing wrong with .22
If the Hearing protection act passes there will be no stamps required.
They sell a lot if them. Profit motive is strong with Ruger.
now that is a beautiful piece of human craftmanship
Scandinavian Huntsman simple, works and reliable. thats the name if the game am i right?
''human craftmanship''
4N1M3 H8T3R ok
+Scandinavian Huntsman have you ever seen any other craftsmanship then human? cuz why would you otherwise specify that it was human?
4N1M3 H8T3R are you really going to question me for adding "human" craftmanship? it seems like a waste of time
it's really nice to see when good people come into enough money to buy the toys they love! great vids, love you guys!
The take down is awesome, I have the mark three I took it down once last year for maintenance and I'm still putting it back together.
Can't wait until the Hearing Protection Act comes into effect. Suppressors can enter the free market again.
ffnovice7 is that actually going to happen? if so when?
Daddy Keemstar You act like Trump is going to go all out on gun control without having to go through Congress. Come on buddy.
Just googled it; check out Chicago Tribune's hilarious title, but don't give them your click, that the full sound of a gun is "an important safety feature that the NRA wants to ban".
pellet guns, bb guns, slingshots use are banned in Stockton, CA. I think throwing rocks at bad guys is possibly legal.
Thinking Impaired yep, aren't pitbull illegal too? Lived there for a few years
Probably the most enjoyable iv8888 video I have watched. Chad talked the entire time and Eric never cut him off once. Lol I was waiting for it.
You know a gun is good when the shooter giggles after every shot.
Great vid
Ps- if you get a new one it comes with a ambit safety delete option(for the user)(2 Allen wrenches req by user/owner). So you can remove the right or left side safety pawl out of the way of your dominate grip hand. Big plus to ruger on customer feedback.
Chad sounds like a little kid on Christmas Day when he shoots a suppressed .22
looks like a good time
Good job guys on the review! I really like the new design of the Mark IV. My old man had one of the older versions when I was young, and I remember the difficulties of the design, but I've always loved the look of it. This one is definitely on my wish list!

Love the 22's. Hope they pass that Hearing Protection Act soon.
forza juventus ikr, scrolling through after it got abandoned makes me sad.
this was the EXACT video content i was looking for. A ruger 22/45 lite with a dead air mask on the end! thank you good sir, thank you!
Love the futuristic laser gun look, don't love the $500+ price tag for a .22
+800€ in Finland = closer to $900 :(
12.000 R$ in Brazil = 2,200$
How would you feel about the price of the gun if I told you that the price of the silencer for that gun is the same price?
in england it costs nothing because we cant have shit in england
@@awetyoghurt6305 Italy is not too bad if you are over 18, well I am not
I have almost the exact same set up. Same gun (black colored) same can, but with a holosun hs407c reflex. Seriously one of the funnest guns. And the pistol itself runs flawless. So easy to take down and clean.
I love the take down and it's about DAMN time Ruger!!!!!
what a world of difference! ahhaha
Oh it wasn't that bad
Giggling seems to be a side-effect of suppressor use, lol.
0:18 "Nice and quiet" laughed way too hard on that one.
I bought mine about 2 weeks ago and LOVE IT! It's about time Ruger got it right on the take down :)
Still got my dads Ruger standard red eagle, vintage 1951. Just got new springs for it!
Same haha. Still reliable and solid
Man, that Turnbull Mk4 is just beautiful. Awesome color case hardening.
when you arrive so early the quality is in 360p
As far as the Magazines, I just took my dremel tool and cut the tail off of the old magazines I had, They work perfect in my Mark IV lite. The only difference was the base plate protrusion.
4:00 You sure aint no Hickok45 lol
I just bought one. Waiting for it to arrive. Your smile says it all
3:56 "I love 22's..." proceeds to miss 8 out of 10 shots, lol.
well he didn't say he shoots it well just that he loves 22
Lmao
I don't even own a gun this was just recommended. The craftsmanship of this pistol is amazing.....
Just rented one of these, (unthreaded,) at my local range/shop. What a fun little 22! Looks like a space opera laser, and shoots nicely.
Well....I'll be shelving my Mark III now. That one button take down is nice!
Chad: "let's take out those sodas right quick, see what kind a pop we can make"
Lol unintentional pun 😂😂😂😂
I used to sell the Mk1-3 telling customers about the takedown, warning them not to do it without knowing it was going to be a train wreck. i was actually making the rear sights parts up until the end of 2015 for ruger at the prescott, az factory.

I love all my .22 Ruger I have multiple Mark III and a couple 1022 so much fun to build and shoot
Wow, it's cray how much weight Chad has gained.
man I have a older 22/45 lite. Man, it must feel good to be an American these days, doesn't it?
***** Yeah man i wish i was
moonman lol
Despite what people in other countries say, it always feels good to be American
Pretty embarrassing these days. We are only the greatest country in America. LOL
The peeps at schools also feel great to be an american
That's badass! Im gonna get me one. I like to take a side arm when shed hunting.
A ghost is messing with one of your ammo boxes at 9:36 HAHAHAHA XD
btw I'm buying this gun :) the only problem is that silencers are illegals in Switzerland, but the state gives you a Sig550 (full auto) to keep in your house for free, so I can't b*tch about it too much XD
FedericoStivan I love Switzerland so much. If I ever had to leave the U.S.A. I'd definitely be to Switzerland!
Well it's the other way around for me :) I've spent a lot of time in the USA and it's an amazing country!
My favorite .22 I love this handgun and the features
I love your channel it's one of the few gun channels I can stand to watch! I do wish you would do more gunsmithing projects and reloading videos like the good ol days!! Otherwise thanks for all the work you guys put in to put out quality content it's much appreciated!!

looks like a paintball gun lol
I have that same gun with laser. Love the way it shoots. The minute I put it in my hand, I bought it. Same style in video
I got the mark 3 for Christmas
12:55 they come with a delete piece you can install on the the new model when you buy them new
what they need to do is make a hunter model threaded I don't know why they don't
agreed

that cackle from chad lol :)
Marvin Espinal so much genuine joy in that laugh. Makes me want to buy a 22/45 myself
They gotta start making these in .380, 9x18 Mak, and other cartridges that lend themselves to this style of blow back action....

Six years later and the impossible happened. The Ruger Mark IV Target model is back on the Kommifornia gun roster. Get it wall it's hot.
that little gun looks like so much fun
Wow. Now that is one Tacti-cool pistol, if I ever saw one. Where is the underbarrel 20mm grenade launcher/can opener though?
Charles the Bold u jokin right
Irsan It needs a laser sight and bayonet too.
Charles the Bold How about a quad rail with a side mounted 870?
I picked mine up about 2 weeks ago, and I absolutely love it. I am running the same set-up (Vortex sight) but with an SS Sparrow suppressor. And, yes, I was one of the ones wailing about "Where's the threaded barrel?" Got a good chuckle out of that comment...

I was wondering about that.
Is it just me, or does that seem like it'd be easy to accidentally engage the disassembly button?
Admiral Percy the safety has to be imaged before it will come apart.
Just you. I have big hands and I've never had an issue.
I have the Mark IV Hunter, hitting the disassembly button is not an issue.
YES PLEASE DO A VIDEO ON THE STANDARD AUTO IVE BEEN BEGGING TO SEE A VIDEO ON THAT GUN FOREVER!!!
Do you guys have a Browning Buck Mark review?
WOuld love to see what they say. I have a early version, it jammed a lot at first but I probably have several thousand rounds through it now and it shoots good now. My dad and a friend all have one been good guns.

You sir, are having way to much fun.
is it just me or is chad putting on weight ;þ maybe time to changing out one range time for gym time :D
Damn, this is a major upgrade from the mark 3. Shit if I bought this one instead, I probably wouldn't hate it. They fixed every gripe I had about it
Will it shoot through someone's head? I need to know for my line of work.
Russel McFeathers shut up
lunatic gamerultimate very rude, probably a liberal Hillary Clinton, or Bernie Sanders supporter. Hitmen are people too you know.
Russel McFeathers I would imagine even with subsonic ammo traveling through a 22 pistol at a low velocity, at point blank range or within a few feet, the 22lr would indeed penetrate the skull and kill instantly.
try watermelon
Russel McFeathers You wouldn't happen to be agent 47 by chance?
You got some supernatural stuff happening around 9:38 with that ammo box.
Perfect Zombie killing weapon.
TheRebelAE I can kill zombies with my mind; because they don't exist.
Neither does your sex life, but we can all hope for something.
dammmm you just got burned

Love my Mark IV Lite !! I have a suppressor on my blue one , can target practice right off my back porch .
Gotta work on that laugh bro...super creepy
Chad you look you are having waaaaaay too much fun! That take down is a awesome idea! I wish they had done that with the earlier models!
keep politics out of this for god sake
Unfortunately guns and politics are inexorably intertwined.
Imperator Phil everything. it's annoying.
***** This video is for the enjoyment of guns not politics leave that to politicians on the TV.
Brian Compton god you must bitch about half of their videos
Alex Moore I barley comment on the videos and I don't bitch when ever I do comment
About time they fixed the takedown method for this thing. The disassembly and reassembly of the mark III is the biggest pain in the ass I've ever seen in a firearm.
i love my MK3 lite so much i'll probably end up buying this one too. can't beat the easy take down! The color is slick as well!
The MK3 lite is such a pretty gun. I much prefer the fluting to the ports.
Ruger Mark IV 2245 - Genius 🤜🏾🤛
Ruger makes great 22lr. Love my volquartzen scorpion.
even as a german with more or less the european gun mentality "i don't need guns" i always love his videos and .22 has something special with this weapon type
Ruger has long stated their slide stop should not be depressed to allow the bolt to chamber a round,
They should all be slingshot operated to chamber a round.
GET ONE !
I just picked my up last night and giggled like you! Any new recommendations for a suppressor?
Dead Air Mask... The Quietest 22 can on the market.. Just filled out my form 4 so it is time to wait.. I will pick up the Surefire Ryder 22 tomorrow.. good video
A great trigger kit. MAJESTIC. Wow..adjustable from 3pts.
personally I don't like the 22/45 but I watch every video because I love what u guys do also love ur videos content on every guns u shoot and break down everything the good bad and the ugly lol!!!.....
Cool review! We love our 22/45s. Building some new ones for 2017. Love the channel!
implicit propaganda of your channel on other peoples is equally disgusting as explicit propaganda
Not really if they are shooting guns.
Just bought a green one....great review...thanks for your service!
Almost caught a 22 cal out front 711 skating'' Drop your shit'' New it was real cause I have one just like it, Thx Ruger.
OPPS I forgot, THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE !!!!!!!!
I have found that you can mod the older 22/45 magazines to fit the Mark IV's- remove material from the back of the magazine base plate so it is flush with the magazine body.
0:50 sounds like a happy man :)
It’s nice to see that Eric lets him out of the basement once in a while.
im from ireland so iv only shot a few pistols, one was a mk 2... it so easy to use, it jammed a lot it mangled brass but was great fun to use
I've been waiting forever for that review of the "assassins" pistol!!. Wish I could have it here in Canada :( .
Thank god for that new takedown. Disassembly on the old ones is such a PITA !!
Just the fun you seem to be having make me want one lol good video 👍🏾
I don't like the polymer grip or the grip angle. So I managed to buy a Mk IV Tactical, which was rather difficult. I upgraded it with a reddot, a Volquartsen trigger and a Tandemkross compensator, because supressors are difficult to get here in Germany. It is pure fun to shoot.
You never get to old for 22.
