  • My first time attempting to film an Annular (or any) Solar Eclipse, so I hope you give me a little slack in the imperfect methodologies I used, but this is a great short video showing the start to finish of the annular eclipse that came over hear San Antonio, Texas on 14 October 2023.

There is a typo "Solor" versus "Solar" ... oh well, it add character!

Thanks Joe! The clouds make it look spooky. Did you notice an appreciable dimming of the daylight?

I was up north more (and further east), in the center of path of totality. It got noticeably darker and cooler.

It was darker and the temperature dropped off too!

Bit like Tesla making its mark on the transport industry! It's not there yet but.....and let's hope it lasts longer!

Next in April you can video a total eclipse in SA. What’s the odds of a annular and total eclipse in the same place six months!

Very lucky for the two events happening just 6 months apart where I live!

Awesome footage‼️ Did you use a welder's helmet shield to view through it❓️

When you mentioned this on your last Tesla video, I thought I hope Joe does a video of the eclipse

Thanks Joe, seemed rather quick to me was it real time or speeded up? although you saw more of it thsn i did.of the one i went to see. Much thicker cloud although it did thin a bit to distinguish some outline through the haze and it was not. anular but. a full eclipse and ihat one did get dsrk even trough the cloud.

I did speed up the video clips on this video … the entire real-time eclipse was about two hours from start to finish

Solor Eclipse? LoL, cool. What lens did you use? If you had it on manual focus set at infinity, you have to turn it back slightly to get it in perfect focus.

I'm learning! I was using a Panasonic digital camera with 600mm lens and I was trying manual focus.
