Having worked at a torque converter re-manufacturer, I saw a number of wiped out converters. Being new, I asked the foreman how that happens. He said one of the fastest ways to do that is a reverse slam. Put it in reverse, get going backwards and then slam it in low and stomp the gas. Not good on the trans clutches either. Neutral slams are almost as bad. I'm enjoying your content. New subscriber here. I'm especially interested in the Studebaker UTE (I'll call it). Keep 'em coming!
And I want to thank you for entertaining me Brent. Not had the transmission problem your having in a long time but what seems like a hundred years ago remember driving a rig that the transmission did that and changing was my only solution..... long before I took upon myself to try fixing automatics. Turns out they are easier than standards/LOL
The number of attachments available for those skid steers is amazing. I don't know if you have to have a certain model for them to work or not, but the village I live in alone must have a dozen attachments for theirs. Please show us the engine swap when you do it and put it back together.
Hello Brent, I found something on the internet that you may have seen. If you haven't search "Images of 1951 Studerbaker Phantom Pickup Conversion". My wife and I loved it, are sure Ester will take your conversion from in a heart beat after you paint it. Ha Ha😄😄
Excellent Video Brent :) also yes sometimes Automatic transmission be picky on figuring out! Alao would check lines block up with dirty or leak on them and shifting adjustments on left side maybe need tune up for click for P to L1 all in-between gears plus N even Overdrive!
Dang! We got one of those bobcats sitting at work with the left side drive that's trashed. Great running unit too. To bad your super far away, you could probably get it along with a nice service manual for cheap!! Thanks for sharing!
I have that same karcher pressure washer It's a beast, works great If you turn down the pressure down about half you can just about get a steam cleaner effect instead of just hot water.
Good morning from Worcester Ma. Always a good video from “Halfass Kustom” Would like to see more on the Wisconsin engine swap on the forklift. Note: Have you ever considered adding a flannel shirt to your merch?
Pull the pump and inspect it.Suspect the pieces from converter took out the pump caused it to have insuffient pressure .Pressure is raised in reverse which was enough to apply that clutch to hold proper.Operating it with low pressure probably damaged other clutches now.
Too bad for the tranny in the " T" But you saw that a new one would do and WalAah Fixed . Now the pressure washer you knew upon examination was beat so a newer one filled the bill !! and all is well around the ranch . Till next time , Stuart in Ontario ..
I had a 73 Nova with a turbo 350 and it was doing that. Back in the day one could just go down to the local junkyard and have them pull another T350 for you for $75!!!! Well that’s all it cost because I did the work and it lasted years and years until I sold it and it was totalled that night🙄. My mechanic friend said I probably just stretched the bands. I consider myself a decent mechanic but transmissions are above my pay grade, so me thinking about stretched bands as far as I’m concerned means the squirrel kept falling off them cause they were loose while running on them in this transmission! Ya got me?!?!
I'm surprised you have had so many problems with the motor in that skid steer. They use the same Continental engine in small aircraft. They're usually bulletproof.
I really hope you can get that old... what is it? ... a Bobcat? I'd love to see you get that thing moving again! I saw one guy take the diesel engine out of a generator and use it in his "bobcat". It bolted right in for the most part... but he got the generator for like $500 because that engine was worth about $5K. I bet you'll figure something out.
18 minutes and a half ass are you sure you know what you're doing if not good for your little woman out he should do the mechanical work haha I just having fun with you guys😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks again for sharing your Garage Time with us Brent.
Another cool video, thanks Brent ! And yes, that T wakes up some souvenirs.

Keep jamming brother. Love that little truck!
Great videos. On your next motor, don't forget to adjust the valves out of the bobcat. .012 intake, .018 exhaust. Common setting for flat heads.
Pump pressure. Sealing rings. Lowe and reverse clutchs.😊

Oh my Brent , always something...sounds good for the ol' T...keep well 🤠

There is a sprag clutch inside the converter. May have grenaded itself.AL B.
Just want to say hi to you all and Ian I hope you all are having a great day keep up the good work God bless and have a blessed night
Maybe forward has a separate oil pump and its leaking or losing pressure somewhere. Good Luck.
Stretched kick down cable
I’m with you on the Bob Cat old school steering, levers for lift, that’s my jam, but. I am an old fart!
More please young man !
If the transmission doesn't work Brent, just let it idle--it has a sweet rumble!😎

Another good one 👍👍
LS swap for the Bobcat!

The trans in my 2002 chevy 2500 HD Silverado makes noises like a goose honking, I don't get it?
Brent, If trans has a solid reverse, then the forward clutches are smoked.
Big Win on the "T" Have a great evening, take care 👍

modulater or govner

Very Good Brent
Another great vid. As usual GREAT
good work.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Aren't those trucks supposed to have manuals anyway?
Good video
Like to see a 55 or 56 Chevy on your to do list.
The pump is bad are pressure relief valve stuck open
By any chance was there some “sippin” during transmission swap? I find things happen when a guy is a little relaxed.
I second that brother, working on my own stuff im always sipping so I have many uh oh stories haha
Question? Was that your buddies T that you built and sold to him. Regardless , good video Brett.
Kirkland coffee is the best ha
Sounds like the 1st 2nd servo is trashed
If you would put a open valve body transmission in it you would never tear it up my experiences
good content today.
Thank you….
Meanwhile back on the ranch.
Text Mortske; "Mr Bobcat"!
😊👍
LS Swap it !
Hi from MamaCard
That’s what you get when you loan motors.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
V 4 Wisconsin costs twice as much to rebuild as a small block.
