I do not have troubleshoot tab in the settings section
You can also find it if you go to your control panel. You can access your control panel by typing "control panel" into your Windows search bar. When in your control panel click on system security then click on troubleshoot common computer problems

I have a Dell laptop, it's touchscreen. I don't know which model I have. But it does have a small speaker on the left side near the headset plug. My laptop isn't playing any sound but when I connect my Air Pods to it, then the audio works. I tried troubleshooting it and it said that there wasn't any issues with the Audio/speakers. I also tried talking to Microsoft support and none of it helped. I don't know if I have to go to a store so they can help me with it, I've been trying for a few days to fix it myself. I got this laptop gifted to me (hand me down) it was reset and like brand new and when I was setting it up, it has (still does) the "x" on the audio. I don't know if anyone else has this problem.

Ok so it says troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem but I do not have any sound on my computer so IDK what is going on now.

Sometimes it doesn't run all the way. When you go into device manager how did your drivers look?

I have tried everything .. updating and reinstalling drivers.. do troubleshooting..disabled sound enchantments and restarting the audio services but none of this worked for me… when I plugged in my earphones sound is working but when I plugged out sound is gone..so basically it is speaker hardware problem?
Sounds like it. It is a rare problem but sometimes the speakers themselves die.

@@shelter10 It is more common with older laptops. Speakers should still work with it.

none of these worked for me but when i use headphones the sound works but i don’t think it’s a speaker issue because when i’m setting up the computer it can make sound and say click on this or that

When you go into the look at the drivers...Does anything look messed up?
Honestly everything was working fine and I thought I lost all my chances but this whole time I needed to uninstall something for the sound to work😂😂

Hey so First thanks for the video but my problem is that I have do this everytime my laptop lose every day the sound! This is really annoying do yo know what the problem is???
You may need to adjust the sound settings so its using the correct speakers. Sometimes it can try to use the wrong device to play audio. That could be why you have to keep running the troubleshooter every time.

That is strange:/ I would go to dell.com/support and get the audio driver for your model Dell. Then I would download and install it.

Ya that sounds like a software issue. You could try resetting your computer.
When I listen to RUclips on Google my sound doesn't work.. when I listen on Microsoft edge it works just fine!

Hi. So I upgraded my dell Inspiron from Windows 7 to 10, and the audio hasn't worked since.. I've tried several drivers and driver downloaders and nothing seems to work..
What happens when you run the troubleshooter? Also when you look at Device Manager under Audio does it show any sort of error?

@@michealayoradeyemi8163 Finding the right driver can be a pain in the butt. Have you directly gone to Dell.com and looked up your model computer and downloaded the recommended audio drivers? Also on Dell.com you can scan your computer and see what drivers are missing. The scanner works really well.
hey sorry to bother u but, my laptop speakers are not working and when i plugged in a headset it also didnt make a sound and i tried the vid software steps the laptop was working very well i left for 10 min and came back to it not working

Hello. Thanks for this great video! However, I couldn't fix my speakers following the above-shown steps (running the troubleshooting widget & reinstalling the audio driver). I also confirmed it isn't a hardware issue because regular headphones don't work either. (unless somehow both pieces of hardware are bad?). In addition, I submitted a diagnostic report via the Feedback Hub but wondered if you had any additional advice about what I might try next. Thanks!
P.S. I'll let you know if the Feedback Hub provides a solution.

If I plug in my Jabra headset to the laptop, and the sound works, is it also a speaker (hardware) issue?
Most likely yes it is.
That happen to me I think, when I plugged in my headphones I heard it but when I unplugged it I couldn't hear the sounds coming out of the speakers.

I uninstall the sound to hear the volume I don't know how to install it back please help.
If your restart the computer often times it will reinstall. Have you tried that? If it does not then you can go to dell.com/support look up your model dell. Once you've done that then download your audio driver and install it.

If you just purchased it then its most likely still under warranty. You can call it and have Dell fix it for you.
