Will be interesting to see if liverpool fans warm to Arne Slot because he's quite direct, clever and ruthless in how he talks compared to klopp who is much more personable and heart on sleeve type of guy. It might translate well on the pitch if the team is more controlled and cold blooded like a man city but it wont be as electric and adrenaline like klopp ball and it might not connect with the fans. The football has to connect with the fans for Anfield to come alive
Liverpool is all about character, and this guy is it.
When we were interested in him last season I def wanted him over others we were interested in like nagelsman and Enrique - glad we got ange but think Slot will do great job as plays good football and works within a budget and improves players
I like him he fits the philosophy and culture of Liverpool and likes developing young players

I prefer the idea of Slot over Amorim. Amorim in press conferences comes across as quite naïve. Slot comes across as a straight-talking guy. I think what people have to remember is that we need a manager who will play the football the fans want to see. Amorim's playstyle is not exciting enough to get Anfield jumping. Slot's is not a perfect fit, but it's certainly a better match than Amorim's. Feyenoord's players say they enjoy playing under him which is good because if players enjoy what they're doing, they perform better. I think that's part of the problem at Liverpool right now; Klopp's leaving and the players don't look like they're enjoying it anymore. Compare the body language of the players with the 3-0 against Villa earlier in the season (before Klopp's announcement) to their body language vs Fulham recently. Both games ending in a win for the reds, but they looked much happier with Villa.
I'd have to disagree that Amorim's playing style wouldn't get anfield jumping although I prefer the next step for Liverpool to be 4231 than 523. I think Amorim's character and playing style there is more character there, whereas Slot is a guardiola cold-blooded character which is not what Jurgen is who wears heart on his sleeve and is very personable. De Zerbi + Anfield combo I'd love to see. The players we have however may do better with a Guardiola style set up and someone with skilled knowledge of football. I think for Slot the results on the pitch will have to compensate for his personal side for him to be accepted. Feyenoord players say they enjoy playing under him but higher quality players are more stubborn (Van Basten's words). You have said the players aren't enjoying Klopp's style because he's leaving, but I think you mean they like the style if he leaves or not but are sad for Klopp to be going which is affecting their performances e.g. more erratic or less upbeat mood

In his first season at AZ and his first as a manager Slot made title contenders of a team that hadn’t won a title in 10 years. He might even have won it, hadn’t the season Been cut short due to COVID. He did this with a team he spent only 6 mil on, against an Ten Hag run Ajax that spent 10 times the amount, whilst having sold his key player at the time Guus Til. That Ajax team at the time was the same as the UCL team, only without De Ligt and De Jong.
In his first season with Feyenoord, Slot took a financially struggling team that was desperate for investors, to a European final, whilst only spending 9 mil on players. Again, he also lost his best player at the time, Steven Berghuis, to Ajax. Next season 4 players individually we’re sold for a fee higher than the 9 mil Feyenoord spent on all players the season before. Aursness was bought by Slot for 750k and in one year he was sold for 13 mil, almost creating a profit of 20 the original price.
In only his third season as a manager and his second one at Feyenoord he won the league. And in the current season he won the KNVB cup.
He is a manager known for improving young talents and a coach that actually doesn’t like to shop in the Eredivisie unlike Ten Hag. Most of the best players he wanted at Feyenoord were players he had seen from opponents abroad or talents no one had heard about (Paixao, Minteh, Gimenez, Aursnes, Hancko, Trauner to name a few). He also likes to work with a lot of academy players (Stengs, Blade and Koopmeiners at AZ and Hartman, Geertruida and Kökcu at Feyenoord for instance).
The people that do know him in England, probably know him from his clashes with AS Roma in the past 3 years, all of which he lost in either extra time or penalties. Many will also know he brought out Mourinho’s stressed aggressive bad side in all of these matches, since he completely outplayed Roma in these matches. Many will know Mourinho only does this against the best of the best like Pep and Wenger. These matches were lost on individual moments of players at Roma he couldn’t really do much about. Roma just simply had better players, because they could spend way more than Feyenoord could. Whilst Roma could buy Dybala and Paredes, Feyenoord could only buy Wieffer from Excelsior and Gimenez from Cruz azul. Still good players, but not top level of Europe. Slot said as much that if he had the funds, he would spend them on players of that caliber rather than eredivisie players. He is a well spoken, calm manager that has a similar presence to Klop and likes to play with fast build up play and a high press.

Hes very similar in playstyle to what Klopp does not saying hes just as good but thats prob the reason they are going for him.
Likes to have to the ball but also presses the opponents as much as possible and plays a 4-3-3 like Klopp but slight difference is the pivot with actual midfielders then an inverted rightback like Trent

@@tf2368 ten Hag did it at Ajax, Slot is doing it at Feyenoord.. Ajax are the team to buy Feyenoord's best players while Feyenoord get Ajax's discarded handmedowns. Ajax spend 10millions on several players each season, a big part of Feyenoord squad is made of loans that rotate in and out every season. Ajax get players from CL clubs, if Feyenoord are getting players from CL clubs it's because they are youth team players on loan.

People need to put some respect on jurgan Klopp you have to realise this guy won then the epl title after 30 years and missing out on another 2 epl titles by 1 single point to an already great man city pep team, aswell as that hes taken lfc to 3 ucl finals winning one. Also and fa cup league cup uefa super cup, world club cup champion hes won every single trophy for LFC atleast once in the 8 years hes been there. That is an achievement within itself but he looks drained and tired and its the right time for him to move on.
Not a single manager from the Dutch league ever did well managing an English club, just saying.

@@philipharrison5100he's a winner and a good coach. He won the league with Feynoord against a dominant Ajax while Feynoord were struggling. He also got them Into Europe for the first time in years. He's won multiple domestic cups with multiple clubs as well. Not to mention his 1 loss with Feynoord last season or the season before.
