I think Carra is projecting his late career experience. Like Case, Carra relied on his physicality as a player and his legs were basically gone in 2009/10 but he held out for a decent season. The three seasons afterwords he was not up to it at all and I think he sees the writing on the wall for Casemiro. IMO Casemiro could have a late career renaissance under a more defensive manager and I believe he has a role to play either way, but I certainly wish we could get him off the books at this point at that ridiculous wage.

It seems logical on paper to suggest less games means more focus on league but reality is it never works out that way. Momentum from going deep in as many competitions as possible nearly always drives a team to success.

why would he leave willingly when he's on more money than he would even likely get at a saudi club. i get carra is just trying to have his say and put his point across but he is in no position to tell a player when its time to move on or retire. its the same in the fight game you never tell a fighter to retire they go out on their terms. i feel thats the same in all sports you shouldn't tell any elite athlete to move on, that decision is solely down to the individual.

There’s this weird obsession in football at the moment where any player 30+ who has a bad run of form the entire internet starts saying the player should hang up their boots. Salah is another example this season it’s bizarre. They’re early 30s they still got multiple years at the top level left a bad run of form can happen to any player at any stage of their career.
